Woodlands Court

My mum is treated with care, compassion, dignity and empathy. The management and all staff have mum's best interest at heart. I couldn't wish for a better environment. Mum has challenges like other residents too but I know that she is treated extremely well. I personally couldn't live my life restfully if it wasn't for the peace of mind the care Woodlands Court provide my mum.

Whilst visiting a resident I met members of staff who are all welcoming, friendly efficient and professional. The person I visited told me how kind and helpful the team are. Well done!

We are very pleased with how Woodlands Court Care Home keeps us informed about my mother's health. They tell us how she has been during the night, what she has eaten and how happy she has been. They let us know promptly if there are any problems.

As my mum became a resident, the management and staff have been brilliant with her. My mum sufferers from vascular dementia and bipolar, with these illnesses, she is difficult to deal with, but the staff here are so understanding on her condition. They keep her calm and treat her with dignity, even when she can be challenging, so I am extremely happy with the care they provide. 10 out of 10. Thank you, Woodlands Court.

I have chosen this comment because it depends upon the needs of the prospective resident and does not reflect upon the care received by my sister. The only issue I have is access by phone when the home is in lockdown for whatever infection they are controlling. I know this is beyond the control of the individual home, but feel that the group should sort this as it happens frequently.

Sometimes I get the impression that the home is understaffed, which clearly impacts on their ability to function smoothly. However, I genuinely believe that the staff and management do everything they can to keep my mum comfortable and show genuine affection for her. My father was in another care home before he died. I just wish that home had shown the same humanity to him as Woodlands do to my mother.

Can't thank the staff and manager enough for looking after my mum so well and caring for her. She would not be here if she was at home.

Continued communication throughout the pandemic, has been good. I recently managed my first visit in months.

Lovely care home. Had a lovely feel to it when I went to look round. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. They all appear very caring towards the residents. It has obviously been a difficult year for all the families, residents and staff, but the staff have done what they can to assist. It was lovely to be able to have balcony visits to see my Dad and then just before Christmas, the room they had adapted for visits was great and lovely that I could see my Dad on Christmas Eve - it meant a lot.

My 96-year-old mother has been resident for 3 years, she has always been well card for and treated with dignity and considers all staff her family - even more so this year with so few family visits. On every visit (1 live 100 miles away) I am aware of the friendly working ethic of all the staff, which is felt by all who live there. Thanks to all for keeping my mother safe this year.

They were also very kind and helpful after the death of my mum, taking care of Dad and helping him deal with his loss.

My mother went into Woodlands Court for a respite stay and following admission to hospital, returned for end of life care. The care staff and management were excellent and treated my mother and all our family with love, care and dignity. I would highly recommend it.

My mother has vascular dementia and although her mind is deteriorating the carers are superb in looking after her.

Brilliant staff. Always smiling. Would do anything for you. Nothing is too much to ask. Lovely rooms and the food is exceptional. Would highly recommend Woodlands Court to anyone.

My wife has been treated well and if she felt unwell and stayed in her room, staff have taken food and drink to her. Also, I have at times been asked if I would like to stay and have a meal with her.

Excellent responses to my small concerns we may have risen with staff. Always willing to speak and listen with care and sympathy.

I have viewed most of the home in Wigan but knew that Woodland Court was the one that would be suitable for my friend due to the high standards that I was looking for. Friendly and caring management and staff. Very professional at all times. No matter what time of day I visit Woodlands has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It is odour free and always smells clean. Any questions or requests have been dealt with immediately. The general atmosphere by staff and residents is amazing, and I have confidence that I have chosen the right place.

My dad has Altzheimer's. We were worried that if we put him into a home he would deteriorate quite quickly! In fact, it was quite the opposite. We should have done it sooner. He absolutely loves it at Woodlands Court. He is always smiling and laughing. It is lovely to see. This is thanks to the amazing staff that work there. They are always happy too and so kind and caring. They do lots of activities and always give 200%! So 'thank you' so much to everyone that works there. We can't thank you enough.

The care staff are very friendly and are completely committed to ensuring that all residents are cared for and respected.

The home is not ideally suited in its layout however the care staff and management are compensating by the décor and stimulation provided.

The care home is extremely clean and tidy.

I am satisfied with the care my husband receives and I am satisfied with the care home.
