My mother was taken here after a brief spell in hospital.
She suffered from Alzheimer's but liked her time here.
She made a lot of friends amongst residents and staff.
She really enjoyed the activities such as painting, drawing, singing and dancing.
The management and staff could not have been more
helpful and attentive.
The home was always clean and fresh and the food was great for my mum.
Thank you to all at Woodlands Court for everything over the last two years.

The staff at Woodlands Court are the backbone of its success as a care home. I thought that during my first weeks as a resident and still feel the same on my return here. The staff members who looked after me made no fuss, just got on with the job, usually with a smile. Overall I found how Woodlands
as good as any of the 3 care homes I had stayed in previously - and better than most. On the debit side, I found that residents were sometimes made to wait too long for meals to be served. I disliked the home's toilet paper - which in terms of strength, is too frail.

Following several visits during and after moving my wife's mother to Woodlands Court my observations are as follows:- 1: Staff friendly and supportive. 2: New room fully decorated with new furniture, clean and tidy. 3: Caring visits by staff during our time with my mother in law resolved any minor issues
we raised. 4: Food seemed adequate. 5: Day trips motivating and useful. Our only criticism is my mother-in-law needs urgent attention to her feet/toe nails and podiatrist visits have been lacking! We are surprised to read the latest report stating inadequate service. This has not been our experience at all! Clearly, some problems have been observed which we hope will be resolved with the inspector's support.
Reply from Mikinda Atherton, Acting Home Manager at Woodlands CourtI am sorry about the delay with regrads to the podiatrist attending, I have raised this with staff and was informed that the day the podiatrist was due to attend they cancelled. I have been informed that the podiatrist is due to attend this week. Thank you for raising this concern.

My mum has settled in straight away. The staff are excellent and mum loves them all. The manager and deputy manager are always available to help and are very friendly and easy to approach. My mum likes to be independent and the staff help to maintain this. Mum has been ill a couple of times and the
staff were excellent on these occasions. I do think the food could be better menu-wise, but they do try to give a choice. I would like to see more activities and stimulation for the residents it has improved recently but maybe more could be done.

The staff and management are amazing we cant fault them in anyway. Everything is perfect where my nan is and is very warming to know she is in good hands. If she's asks for anything she needs staff will let us know and they take her for her dinners and teas which look very nice and she never complains
about anything she loves living at the home and everything about it. The manager is very nice and a great person who cares about all the staff and residents and family members. Anything what needs fixing the handy man always come and fixes it as soon as he can. If the staff have any concerns they will let you know about anything they can about my nan. She is proper looked after and I would recommend the home to anyone.

Mum has been a resident in Woodlands for approximately 8 months. She is 87 years old and suffers from dementia. The care she receives in Woodlands is excellent. The staff are extremely caring and we can be confident that she is well looked after and all her needs are met by the staff. Any problems we
have had have been dealt with by the management who are always on hand a very approachable. We are very much happy with the care receives by staff and management.

I put my mother-in-law into Woodlands because it was clean, well maintained with beautiful gardens, friendly residents who all looked happy and content. The living, eating and sleeping facilities were clean, warm with a family feeling. The staff were fantastic and everyone was friendly letting us know
everything they did. Really loving, caring and friendly staff you could ask them anything and they were happy to help.

I found the care home a little dated but always clean and tidy and smelling nice. The staff from the management down to the cleaners are very friendly and helpful and will go that extra mile for the residents and their families. The residents get very well looked after in their personal care.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.559)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.559) out of 10 for Woodlands Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.734 for Woodlands Court is calculated as follows: ( (119 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 154 Ratings = 4.734
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Court is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
