My wife was out into her first care home in April 2024 by her daughter. While there I had words with a male and female carers who were demanding my wife to use her simar frame and stand up, which my wife had no chance of doing. Here in her present care home, both carers and staff are brilliant in the
way the residents are treated and helped. Here in this care home, both carers and staff, do their very best do this.

Whilst I appreciate the home is trying its best, I feel particularly at weekends, it is understaffed. The activities coordinator has been on long-term sick with no replacement which is poor. The home is being refurbished, but my mum's room hasn't. I know to do this work is difficult, but a plan should
be made. We are told no one can change rooms but clearly people have. One shower has been out of order for some time.
Finally, I feel that I have to chase for information/updates, eg doctors' assessment- what was results/ DOL's update/medication.

I am pleased my husband has settled; he seems quite content here. The staff are wonderful, especially one staff member, she seems to help everyone, every time I come in, she is helping someone. Mind you, they are all good. I am quite happy at last, I did not want him to go into care because I have looked
after him for 24 years at home but I am happy now.

Whenever we visit our auntie we are pleased to see her content, and clean and tidy. Pleasant staff, and a nice environment.
Only problem we've had are some of her new clothes going missing.

My sister has been a resident at Ash Court Care Home. Since the beginning of time with your good help and all the family agree, all the management and staff have been wonderful to her in every sense of the word. Nothing but praise for everyone. Our mum had a fall in December 2022 and broke her hip which meant that she could no longer climb stairs, needed a zimmer frame to walk and required 24/7 care. We found Ash Court which promoted a home from home environment and she was able to come out with us whenever she wanted for special occasions.
We would like to thank all the staff for their love and support to us as a family and for the dedicated care that they provided to Mum. You really are the best and you made it welcoming for us all to spend time with Mum and giving her constant care when we couldn't be there. You are all amazing people who go above and beyond to help the residents. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

The home could do with more activities for residents. They are all always in main lounge just sitting there. Maybe employ an entertainer who engages with them. Do different activities etc. Have a music afternoon with 50/60's music or country and western. I notice at afternoon cup of tea only ever get
biscuits. Maybe get cakes/danishes from Costco as a change.
Minus side - lift always breaking down has been broken now for four days not good enough.
Invest more, as this restricts residents upstairs in chairs.

Lift broken two to three weeks causing distress to residents who cannot get downstairs or are frightened of falling. Also, one particular resident, who is causing distress in upstairs lounge to other residents.

A new lift/stairlift is desperately required, always breaking down and hinders quality time for residents with friends on different floors.
Confusing to residents who can't access areas, which is routine to them, and in the event of a fire, it's a high risk.

Very clean, staff always very approachable and nice. The lift has been broken for far too long, not good for all elderly residents and safety issue.
Lounge always empty on level 1 as one particular resident screaming and shouting every day. Really unfair.
My nan only likes to be on her own floor
level, also has a fear of ground-floor from previous life experiences.
Hearing aids need to be applied every day.

This is a pleasant care home where our dad is looked after. The staff feel empathy towards the residents and it does feel like a homely place. We feel that admitting Dad into a care home was the biggest decision we have made for another person but it was the right decision.

I was told last week that my aunty would be coming to Ash Court. I turned up unannounced on 25/02/2023, the carer showed me around and answered all my questions and concerns. I have worked in care homes myself and can honestly say this is the nicest one I've ever been in. Came here today with my aunty,
the staff have gone above and beyond. Thank you all so much, I know my aunty is in safe hands, I will also sleep easy tonight.

From our experience, Mum is always treated with respect. Staff go beyond to support and every request is met to the full. We can go home knowing Mum is well looked after. A hairdresser is required for their well-being. On the negative side, more activities during the day are needed to prevent Mum just
sitting with her memories, however, the home is trying to accommodate this. Staff do not have time for both.

My aunt seems happy and secure at Ash Court. She tells me the food is good and from my own observations the home is clean and the staff are attentive. I wonder if there could be more leisure activities eg crafts or gentle physical exercise. A link with the local primary school might be interesting and
beneficial.
