I came to Ash Court Care Home in February 2016. I came straight from hospital. I was very apprehensive as this was my first care home. However, I found myself feeling quite at home very quickly. The staff were all very caring and kind. The room I have is bright and with many of my own treasures around me. I am very happy here. The cleanliness of the home is excellent and the entertainment is both mentally and physically stimulating.

My 91-year-old mum has recently moved into Ash Court and I can't praise the staff enough at all levels for the care and attention they have shown to mum. It is quite a move especially at mums age. We have been kept fully informed of everything to do with mums welfare, and she has been included in decision making herself, keeping her respect and dignity. The facilities are excellent and mum has settled in very quickly, mainly due to the caring staff. Everyone is extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble at all. There is always someone on hand to take an interest and answer queries. It is a difficult time for relatives when an elderly parent has to move but we have no concerns at all. The Management and staff are a credit to Ash Court and go more than the extra mile. We will be more than happy to recommend Ash Court to everyone.

My mum has been a resident at Ash Court for a year and a half now. Mum chooses to stay in her own room and enjoys her own company, television and time reading. All the staff are very friendly and take time to talk and are always ready to meet all her needs. Mum feels safe, secure and is grateful and happy to be part of the Ash Court family.

The Deputy Care Home Manager was able to give me much more information than I’d been able to glean from other sources. Being new to ‘care’ I found it a minefield, rather frightening when it came to cost and what help is available, the Deputy Manager re-assured me.

I was shown around Ash Court Care Home by a lady and her ‘caring’ staff and felt in my mind that my Aunt could make it her home. She is 94 and sadly needs help now. I feel that at Ash Court she is in a caring environment.

My thoughts on ‘care’ are that it takes a special kind of person to do this job. I also think ‘caring’ staff are undervalued. One day we will all be old and in need of a little, maybe a lot of help!

My main concern is the food. It is prepared without much love or attention. It is usually tasteless and often not cooked properly, sometimes cold. Due to the physical and/or mental condition of many residents, they do not know what they are eating, but what is served is not good for the more able-bodied residents. There is also a lack of choice in the food offered. Portions are very small. Desserts are not appetising. Hygiene could be better in handling things like biscuits and cups of tea.

Since my mother became a resident Ash Court Care Home the staff have done everything possible to meet her needs. She settled in quickly in a lovely caring friendly environment. Ash Court has been the best place to care for my mother and also welcome the family and keep us updated on everything my mum does.

All the staff are really helpful and kind.

Used for a one-week respite care. Better than many others I have used and experienced. Staff seem attentive and management seems on the 'ball'. Just a shame they will not take bookings more than two weeks before a stay. Company's accounts dept. is a joke, however, sending incorrect invoices with wrong dates seems the norm.

Ashcourt is very pleasant place to live, very bright and very clean. All the staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and care very well for every bodies needs. Meals are varied and staff are prepared to provide alternative meals should the residents not like or not feel like what is on the menu for the day.

Ash Court is a very happy atmosphere. This is obviously due to the management as well as the staff who are so gentle, calm and caring with the residents. My mother has transitioned from her own beautiful comfortable home to her new home here at Ash Court. A very big thank you to the managers and staff for making my mum feel loved.

My friend has been at Ashcourt for nearly four years now and in all that time care and dignity has always been given to her. She has liked staying here and is happy staying here. I am very pleased with all the staff as they are always looking after her wellbeing and would and have recommended Ashcourt to other people.

Staff are very caring and understanding of peoples needs. Very good with family explaining to us the care and attention mother needed in a way better for us to understand without being offensive. The home has a warm and caring environment and the staff and residents are happy and content.
