Heathermount is a small homely cosy home with a family feeling. I have been here for 5 1/2 years and knew from the beginning that this was the kind of home for me. The staff are loyal, kind and caring and will do anything to help. The food is excellent and the cook is special.

I feel very contented and happy to be here and hope this will be my forever home.

Right from the time we looked at Heathermount, we were struck by the welcome, the friendliness of staff they were helpful, nothing too much trouble. My mother settled in straight away. She has been there since June 2017 - she is treated with respect, great care and especially since Coronavirus, they never mind when I phone up to enquire after her. It is a very homely, warm place and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. I do often!

It all happened. Mam needed to be cared for. I live on the Wirral, my brother lives in Surrey, Mam lived in Co. Durham. The vicious circle of "fall, paramedics, A&E, respite, home, fall, paramedics, A&E, etc, etc" took Mam on a journey that made for a sad life. Serendipity stepped in, along with an opportunity for Mam to move to the Wirral and land in a space at Heathermount. Mam's face lit up when we announced to her that she was moving south. At 89 years old, her twilight years instantly got better. We all love Heathermount - full stop.

This review is to acknowledge the tremendous help that the management and carers at Heathermount provided in honouring my late mother's wish to have her ashes scattered at sea by the Hoylake RNLI crew. Without their help, I am certain that this final act would not have come to pass.

In life, the staff at Heathermount were marvellous, and after her passing, they continued with their help and support for my efforts to grant my mother her final wish. Thank you all.

As a regular caller at Heathermount to visit friends, and also to attend Coffee Mornings and social events, I have always found the staff most helpful and kind, especially with the residents. They take care to listen to their requests and help where possible. The house is clean and tidy and homely. All in all, as the residents have their own furniture in their rooms there is a feeling of individuality in each one.

My father has been a resident at Heathermount for 5 years and I, and the rest of my family have been completely satisfied and impressed with the first-class care and attention he has received there. This year he will be 102 years old and the fact that he has continued to thrive to such a ripe old age is in no small part to the staff, facilities and TLC he has had since joining the home. Of course, he did have reservations at first about going 'into a home', as many do, but Heathermount was so welcoming that he settled in very quickly indeed. The main point about Heathermount is that it is large enough to be totally professional, yet small enough to give a totally personalised service to its residents. Incidentally, in the 5 years my Dad has been there, I have always seen the other residents happy and healthy and I've never witnessed the slightest inkling of a complaint from any of the other residents or their families. Totally recommended.

My Father has been at Heathermount since November 2017 and has been welcomed into their happy home. The Staff are friendly and very professional in all their dealings with my father and he is settled and very happy there. Nothing is a problem that can’t be solved and his care, health and happiness is their utmost concern. He is treated with dignity and affection and as a family we are all impressed with Heathermount.

Joanne Evans
Joanne EvansJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2017

I had spent 20 years working in retail before changing career in 2013 and moving into the Health and Social care sector as a domiciliary carer. I progressed to manager of the company and within 2 years gained a Good in all areas with CQC. I completed my level 5 diploma in 2015

Moving to residential care in 2017 I became registered Manager at Heathermount where I stayed for 4 years.

During this time, the home was visited by CQC and gained a GOOD in all areas of inspection.

In 2021 I was promoted to General Manager of Allandale Care Group, and I am also the Nominated Individual with CQC.. My main duties are to oversee all regulated activities and ensure our services are well run.

In my free time, I like to listen to music, of all kinds, and I am a huge football fan, especially Liverpool FC. I have 3 Grandchildren who spend a lot of time at ‘nanny’s’ house.

I am very passionate about my job and want both homes to be the best they possibly can be so that our residents are happy, comfortable and safe. It is also important to me that our families and friends feel secure knowing that their loved ones are well cared for.

Katie Baker
Katie BakerJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2023

I have 10 years of experience in the care industry. I started my career as a mental health support worker whilst I was studying a level 3 childcare and education qualification.

Whilst working as a mental health support worker I discovered my passion for providing care and support to vulnerable individuals and that I wished to progress within the health and social care sector. In the following years, I worked across several services providing care to vulnerable adults of all ages. In 2018 I was employed as a senior healthcare assistant within an elderly residential home, and I knew straight away that this is where my heart lies, I felt like I was home. In 2019 I started working towards a bachelor’s degree in health and social care whilst working full time. I initially started the degree as I have always been an avid learner and wished to enhance my knowledge in all areas of the health and social care sector. I started my career as a registered manager in early 2021, I joined Allandale Care Group as a registered manager in June 2023. During my brief time at Allandale Care Group, I have supported my team to achieve an ‘excellent’ rating when inspected by PAMMS, my team and I are enormously proud of this achievement.

I look forward to my future within Allandale Care Group.

Kate Conroy
Kate ConroyJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2020

I chose to become a care assistant because working with elderly people has always been a passion of mine, and it deepened ever since I cared for my mum during the final months of her life, whilst it was difficult at the time I understood it wasn’t about how I felt, it was about how my mum felt. I aimed to ensure that she was comfortable, not in pain, comforted and overall someone who was there for her. This is why I feel that working alongside people who struggle for various reasons whether it be age or illness and helping them feel independent again is something I hold close to my heart.

Being a care assistant who can provide physical and emotional support to those in need, being a good listener, a good team member, and being a listening ear to not only the residents but their families as well if they need to talk, and being the reassurance, they need when they are scared. Being able to share their happy memories with them and creating more happy experiences for them when they may believe it is no longer possible is what I aim to achieve. That within itself is one of the main reasons why I am passionate about this type of work, being able to give back to people who have helped people throughout their lives is a small token of appreciation to me.

I joined Allandale Care Group in 2019 as a night care assistant, and since then I have developed my skills and knowledge with support from everyone from care staff to management. I have been given the opportunity to take on the role of Care team Leader which I am immensely proud of. I can only thank the Management for this as the support they have given me and continue to have only helped me grow within my role.

Kate progressed to deputy manager in 2024.

Suzanne Middleton
Suzanne MiddletonJob Title:Account ManagerJoined: 2023

I have always worked in the financial background for at least 30 years. Working in different sectors of the industry I have gained numerous years of valuable experience in all fields.

I have worked on trading desks in the raw commodities industry looking after high-volume invoicing and credit control, reporting to the Directors, and dealing with our European customers. I enjoyed a period within the Sea safety industry looking after the accounts for all our offices located up and down the country and dealing with all the stock involved. I have also worked within the construction sector, which was extremely demanding and busy, looking after payroll for our subsidiary companies and dealing with CIS, and a high level of invoicing and accountancy reporting.

I have studied at college to gain my AAT Certification.

After taking a break to look after my family and raise my children, I decided I wanted to go back to work. I was approached by Allandale Care Group for an interview, I was extremely impressed with the overall engagement with the staff and employees. No stone is left unturned, the respect and work ethos are very apparent from all. I am a compassionate person with a caring nature and did not hesitate to accept the job offer from the CEO Of Allandale Care Group and look forward to many years ahead.

In my free time, I engage in lots of activities with my family. I come from a big family and my house is always full of friends and family.
