Heyberry House enjoys a pleasant location, surrounded by Birkenhead Park. The home provides residential and dementia care for up to 41 customers in homely and comfortable single ensuite rooms and continues to welcome new residents.

The staff are dedicated to working closely with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans for each individual, ensuring their needs are constantly met. Dementia care is available at Heyberry House, where staff are given on-going training to ensure their approach always reflects best practice.

The home has an extensive activities programme which is designed to encompass the interests of all residents.

Heyberry House is operated by Anchor. They strive to raise standards and expectations by reinvesting money made back into its retirement properties and care homes.

Mum has been a resident at Heyberry House since summer 2021. Mum suffers from dementia and has complex care needs and medications, the care she receives at Heyberry is of an excellent standard they understand her needs and nothing seems too much trouble. The staff are friendly and helpful and always
willing to talk about Mum's care, the rooms/flats are of a good size and comfortable with a good size bathroom. I am confident Mum is receiving the best care and can't thank the staff enough.

The care and attention Mum has received are wonderful. All the staff are so helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. There is always a warm welcome when visiting Mum. I found the care home to be very tidy and very well run, the staff to be thoughtful, polite and friendly, supportive and professional. There is plenty to do for the residents as well, they're not confined to being indoors. There is a very nice garden for the residents to sit outside if they wish to
do so and are supervised at all times.

My mum lived at Heyberry House for over 4 years. The care and attention she received were second to none from every member of staff, they were like a second family to her. During the 4 years, she enjoyed trips to the cinema, pub lunches and even a weekend away in Blackpool and there was always daily
activities for her to take part in.
Even when she was in end of life care, they made sure that she stayed at Heyberry in familiar surroundings, my sister and I will be forever grateful for making her passing as comfortable as possible.

My mum came to Heyberry house 4 weeks ago and myself and the family love the whole setup. Mum loves the staff, the food, how clean it is - everything about it. We like it that much that Mum has become a resident as she was in there for respite.

My Nanna loved living at Heyberry House. Before the pandemic, she went on lots of lovely trips out and was always full of stories to tell me. Through the pandemic she was so well cared for by all of the fantastic staff that even though I couldn't visit her, I knew she was safe and happy. I couldn't

Every aspect of Heyberry House is excellent and I cannot recommend it enough. The staff treat the residents with absolute care and kindness. My mother has loved her time there, always saying "it's like living in a family run hotel". During her last few weeks all the staff have been amazing and excelled
in their care of her and displayed a level of professionalism and dedication for which myself and my family will be forever grateful.

Always caring, helpful and pleasant, Made my sister smile, used her name when talking to her even when she had some dementia and were always respectful. Some wonderful entertainment (in the pre-Covid days) trips out and special lunches. Photos displayed for visitors to see, tea and coffee offered to

If you are reading these reviews to decide whether to chose Heyberry House for your loved one then you will not find anywhere better. There is always a friendly family feel to the home, plenty of fun, laughter and entertainment/activities. Everyone is treated with care, love and dignity at all times.
The staff really know everyone's individual needs and likes. There is always a friendly welcome to family members. At the most difficult of times, residents are treated in a loving, caring and attentive way 24 hours a day. I cannot fault the home and the staff in any way.

Mum lived at Heyberry House for just over three years, and she was very happy there, and that was all we could have wanted for her. All we can say is a big 'thank you' to all the staff and wish she was still there now.

My sister only came in for respite and was so impressed she asked to remain. That, for someone who said she would never go into a home, speaks volumes for the staff and care, the food and cleanliness of Heyberry House. I and my family cannot praise and be more thankful for the care, the staff go over
and above the call of duty so many times. We constantly praise them and comment on their care for my sister, even my husband said he would move in himself, so how is that for a recommendation.

My mother lived at Heyberry House for around 20 months until her recent passing. Because my mother suffered with dementia, she had significant care needs, and there were times when it could be a challenge for staff to keep her safe (like the night they found her standing on her bed trying to escape
through the window). Staff took time to get to know my mother, and creatively managed the risks without being restrictive or overly intrusive. They are all truly caring, compassionate and person-centred.
There is a good programme of activities in Heyberry House, Mum was a baker and confectioner by trade during WWll, and the staff encouraged her to join in baking activities which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also joined in art groups, sing-songs and armchair exercise organised by the staff.
Mum passed away recently following a stroke. Staff maintained contact with me during the time she was in hospital, and have continued to be supportive and compassionate. I can't thank them enough.

Having visited Heyberry House for the last three years plus, I found the overall standard to be good. Staff are attentive and treat clients and visitors with a pleasant professional manner. The management has always been available to discuss any issues that may arise. Safety and security are upheld.
All in all a pleasant environment, with excellent food and lovely gardens.

Mum settled at Heyberry House quickly and happily. She liked the staff, her room and the lovely meals straight away. She takes part in all of the activities and is always happy when I phone or visit. Mums room is spacious and homely, and the lounge and dining areas are modern and nicely furnished. The
staff are friendly, caring and efficient. I cannot speak too highly of everyone involved in Mums new life.

It seems to me that the standard and quality of food is not as good from when my mother first became a resident. Generally speaking, the staff deliver a high standard of care.
