I have been a happy resident of Crabwall Hall care home for four and a half years with no wish to move elsewhere. We have en suite rooms cleaned daily and an excellent laundry. Assisted baths are given twice weekly and visiting. Meals are served in an attractive dining room with much choice appreciated by the residents. Activities include quizzes, games and relatives and friends all welcomed. Our carers are excellent, cheerful well trained unflappable and kind. The home is managed by an excellent team organiser , full of ideas and always approachable. Crabwell Hall is a fine home.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for the last three years eight months. Unfortunately we don't feel she has been as content over the last six months or so. Any problems we have seem to be a nuisance. Getting a light to work in her bathroom has taken weeks. She has had a fall, is this a result of lack of lighting in the bathroom! she doesn't like the new food regime as we have heard from other residents. We want her to be happy and content.
Thank you for taking time to share your comments. We value your feedback on how we can improve our services, and take all comments received extremely seriously. We will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the matters raised in your comments in more detail.
I and my father and our family have been well pleased with the care and support given to him since he first came here in August 2015. The management and staff as a whole are very caring, kind and friendly. They go that extra mile to ensure that my dad is happy and ok. They are very watchful for his health and wellbeing and make sure all is well with him. They always inform me if he is unwell and have always called in the doctor when needed.
I have visited several care homes and been a resident in two. I required respite care for two weeks and from my visit here I chose Crabwall Hall. It came up to all my expectations so much so that I am staying on for another week. The staff are consistently cheerful and always willing to help, I was particularly impressed by the entertainments and activities, which gave mental and physical stimulation most days of the week.
I have visited Crabwall Hall on a number of occasions and always found the staff (to a person) polite, friendly, positive and supportive both to my aunt and to the other residents. The hall is clean and tidy and feels very welcoming. My own mother spent her last five years in a care home although it was not as good as yours. Well done to all, we all appreciate your hard work and care.
Since arriving here both the management and all staff have made me most welcome and have made every effort to help me settle in. They are very caring, kind and patient in their care for me and make every effort to ensure my needs are met. I am very pleased with the care and consideration that is given to me.
An extremely pleasant, warm, approachable home setting in a fantastic rural situation but so close to the city centre and amenities. Staff, from the moment of entering the building are very welcoming and extremely helpful and appear enthusiastic to be working here. The atmosphere and characteristics of the home are delightful and homely, doesn't resemble a typical care home. My resident has settled nicely and like other residents is very well taken care of, always appears well kept and healthy. There are never any complaints, only if a meal is not liked.
A long established and well located care home just outside Chester in very pleasant grounds. The home is well managed and staffed by competent and pleasant personnel. The food is good and the provision of activities for residents comprehensive for those wishing to participate. Car parking is plentiful. The home is not exactly cheap but it competitive against others in the area.

Meet the Team (13)

Welcome to Crabwall Hall Care Home. My name is Nicole, and I am the General Manager here.
I have been working within the care sector since 2007, starting my career as a Carer in Guernsey, where I grew up. Through my own personal experiences at an early age, I developed a strong passion for delivering heartfelt, meaningful care, and this passion has continued throughout my life.
I joined Crabwall Hall in 2017, where I began working as a Carer. I have flourished here, and Barchester have supported my career growth over the years. I have worked my work through the ranks to Senior Carer, Deputy Manager, and I was thrilled to step into the role of General Manager in 2023.
I love what I do, and I am proud and privileged to have the opportunity to care for the older generation, who deserve so much, and I lead my team to deliver a high standard of person-centred care to our residents, placing them at the heart of everything we do.
Do feel free to pop in and meet our wonderful team and ask any questions that you may have.
We are all more than happy to help.

Hi, I'm Gemma, the Deputy Manager here at Crabwall Hall.
I joined the team in 2023, bringing a wealth of care experience and knowledge from a long career in the healthcare industry.
Working in Residential care is extremely rewarding, ensuring Residents are happy and healthy and continue to thrive.
I lead the clinical teams, ensuring care plans are detailed and maintained, resulting in the highest quality of care.
I am passionate about making sure we have communication with our Residents' families and operate an open-door policy - you are always welcome!

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I am the home administrator here at Crabwall Hall. My role is varied, from meeting and greeting our residents, their families and visitors to the home to supporting the home's General Manager with the finance and administration duties within the home.
Every day is different here at Crabwall Hall. The best part of my job is meeting new people, showing them what we provide and getting to know each person well as they move in and become part of the Crabwall Hall community.
I look forward to you visiting and showing you around our wonderful home!

Hi, I'm Kerry. I work at Reception and usually the first face you see when you arrive at Crabwall Hall.
I work alongside Michelle in meeting and greeting residents, their families and visitors to our home. I like interacting with people; the reception desk is always busy, and the role is varied. I love getting to know residents; they have amazing stories to tell, and every day is different.
The staff are a wonderful group of people whose sole aim is to give the very best care and attention to every resident. I look forward to you visiting and showing you around our wonderful home!

Hi, I'm Ian, the Head Chef here at Crabwall Hall.
I have been a Chef since I left school, starting on what was then a YTS training scheme - it was the making of me, and I have embraced every opportunity since then.
I joined the team at Crabwall in 2015 and bring a wealth of experience from working as a Head Chef in contract catering and in an oriental restaurant. I enjoy being creative, and I listen carefully to what Residents like and dislike to make sure I deliver a menu that suits their needs. I even take special requests.
Not just a Chef, I enjoy building relationships with our Residents, chatting with them in the dining room and immersing myself in their day-to-day lives at Crabwall and being part of the community.

Hello, I'm Debbie, a Team Leader at Crabwall Hall.
I have been with Barchester since 2009, but joined the care team in 2013, having been inspired by the quality of care my colleagues delivered. I made the move.
Ensuring our Residents live a safe, happy and fulfilled life is important to me. Crabwall Hall is one big family, and we welcome everyone with open arms.
Come for a visit and see what we have to offer!

Hi, I am Sarah. Along with Debbie, I am a Team Leader. I have worked at Crabwall Hall since 1997, and within that time, I have worked my way up to where I am now. I love my role, providing care to all our residents, ensuring our team go above and beyond for everyone here.

Hi, I'm Jacqui, the Activities Co-ordinator here at Crabwall Hall, and I joined the team in 2023.
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
As a team, we are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. I ensure the team knows each resident's preferences, so that together we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.
I love my job - every single day is different and has variety, and there's always something going on at Crabwall Hall.

Hello, I'm Karen, and I am a member of the Activities Team at Crabwall Hall.
I have been a member of the team since 2012. We adopt a whole home approach at Crabwall, so I also help out in the kitchen and care when needed too - we all work together.
I want our Residents to be happy and content. I bring ideas and creativity to activities we offer and always chat to Residents about what they want to do. It is important that Residents feel listened to and have choices.
Pop along to the home and see what we get up to - we always welcome visitors to join in with our activities and events.

Hi, I'm Kath, Head Housekeeper at Crabwall Hall.
I have been at the home since 2019, joining as a Cleaner, before trying my hand as a Carer, which I loved. However, when the opportunity came for the Head Housekeeping role, I knew that's where my strengths were.
It's important to me that Residents live in a clean and tidy home, as it supports their wellbeing. I want the home to feel welcoming for families and visitors, and for Residents to feel proud of where they live.
Please come and see us at Crabwall, visit our Residents and enjoy our home with us.

Hi, we are members of the housekeeping team and enjoy working at Crabwall. The residents feel like part of our extended family. We take great pride in making sure their home and rooms are spotlessly clean. Taking pride in their home is important for the residents, and as a team, we feel passionate about this too.
The lovely part of the role is that we get to know each resident and the ways we can make them happy by the little touches that can lighten their da,y including having a chat as we work.

Hi, my name is Paul, and I joined the team at Crabwall in 2013. I am Head of Maintenance.
I ensure the home is safe, compliant and well-maintained. Every day is different, from testing alarms to redecorating rooms to working in the garden - I love the variety.
It is all for the benefit of the Residents. They deserve to live in a beautiful home.

Hello, my name is Pearl, and I am a Hostess at Crabwall Hall.
I joined the team in 201,9 and straight away I felt right at home. I support Residents at mealtimes and ensure they have a quality dining experience. I spend time chatting to Residents because it's important that mealtimes are a social experience.
