The staff genuinely seem to care about her wellbeing. It feels personal.
The entertainment in particular is excellent. The lounge and dining room are very light airy and welcoming. The gardens are spacious and well cared for with lovely sunny spots for Mum to sit when the weather is good.
Overall I do not think we could have wished for a better place for Mum to be.
The staff are so lovely and always ready to listen and assist where they can. I am very relieved that my brother can remain at Crabwall and must thank Michelle, finance manager, for all her endeavours supporting me to making this possible. CS
Thank you so much for your review. We are happy that we can help your loved one to live happily and contently.
My mum visited for a short period of respite and had a lovely time. She had been very nervous about respite but her stay was as good as a top end hotel! She loved the daily activities, beautiful environment and caring staff. She will definitely look forward to her next stay.
Thank you so much for your review, we are glad mum enjoyed her stay with us and we look forward to seeing her again in July!
She didn't want to be at home whilst the works was being done. She asked to have respite somewhere.
After searching I spotted this home in Mollington as it was not far from the family. I fist went on a visit to look around
I was immediately drawn to the the home. Very friendly staff, happy clients, extremely clean throughout.
We arranged for a visit for my mum in law with her daughter too and we were kindly invited to lunch there. Lunch was so nice. Beautiful dining room were clients eating a lovely space with nice views of the beautiful gardens, very civilized. Staff can't done enough for you
My mother in law was booked in for a week then due to delays in the bathroom we could extend her stay which was perfect.
As an anxious person she settled in really well. She loved the food. All Staff were really lovely
When family visited her we were all welcomed
Thank you so much for your review. It was lovely to have met you both and be able to help in your time of need. You are always welcome to come back and the offer of lunch here is always there too - thank you!
When our local hospital said my Dad was being sent home with no advice on how to care for him and his needs going forward, the family were in shock. We were lucky to have Crabwell Care Home recommended to us by friends. From the minute Nicole the manager met the family and dad at his hospital bedside our worries and concerns were eased away. Nicole liaising with the hospital and making sure that a room would be ready for him to the welcome he received all made us feel easier. The care he has received and the loving care he has had from all the staff was exceptional. A beautiful home with happy and friendly residents and staff. To have Dad say I'm happy here is such a relief and allows us breathing time to plan for his future. If Dad decides this is to be his permanent home we would be very happy.
Thank you so much for this review, how lovely. We are more than happy to have been able to help in your time of need and it is a pleasure to have dad stay with us
Dad died & mum simply wasn't coping! She wasn't eating, washing herself/ clothes/bed. Not meeting people. Wouldn't turn the heating on- simply existed on cigarettes & wine. She fell & didn't tell us, so I found her with a very swollen ankle. That was the lead up to the moving in @ Crabwall. The hospital - broken ankle & now dementia- Said she would need support. So initially it was for 6weeks. It took a few weeks to settle in- she kept her bags packed. She has truly settled in. It was the staff's friendliness that made us choose it, it's warm, cosy & home from home. We're delighted.
Thank you so much for your review, we love that mum has settled so well here, this is most definitely her home away from home!
I am so pleased with the home that I have and would continue to recommend Crabwall Hall as an excellent place to look after someone.
Thank you so much for your lovely review it is a pleasure to be able to care for mum
All of the staff appear to work very well together as a team and I consider the care to be exceptional, they genuinely appear to care for the residents as if they are all part of a family.
Mum has been at Crabwall now for 6 years, I am so glad that we choose this home for Mum.
Thank you for your lovely review. The staff here are a great team and we are most definitely a little family here!
All the staff were focused on keeping us well and hap
Thank you so much for your review! lovely to see you have given us 5 stars throughout. Our residents are important to us and I'm so pleased that others can see that.
I went to look around for respite care for my 86 year old dad.
The staff were all extremely friendly - the general feeling in the home was warm, caring & friendly and the meals being given looked fantastic. The rooms had a home from home feeling and the grounds & gardens were lovely.
Thank you so much for your review, we appreciate the feedback and are happy you had a pleasant experience when you visited us. Hope to see you and dad again soon! Feel free to come in for lunch one day too!
My father regularly uses Crabwall Hall for respite to enable me to go on short breaks. I really appreciate the professional, courteous communication I have with all the members of staff with whom I come into contact. Dad is always very well cared for when he stays and speaks fondly of his time there when he is back home. It is so important for me to be able to relax when I am away for a break. I know he is well cared for and if there happened to be any problem it would be dealt with.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We always enjoy dad coming to stay with us and are glad it allows you to relax during your holidays. Always happy to assist, hopefully we will see you both again soon.
My Mum came to Crabwall Hall for respite care on the 4th February 2025. The staff led by the manager have all been amazing from the initial contact, to arranging the respite, being flexible with us and on the day of arrival itself. I can't praise them highly enough! The home is wonderful and of a very high standard and although Mum took a little while to settle in, I'm sure she will very soon!
Thank you so much for your kind review! It has honestly been a pleasure and we hope to see you soon.
My mother stayed for two weeks respite care. This was a difficult time for her. The staff were very kind, cheerful and helpful and made her stay as comfortable as possible. In particular, the manager made every effort to accommodate our mother's wishes and was flexible and positive. This flowed down to all her team. Thank you.
I apologise for the delay in this response, but thank you so much for this review. We were happy to be able to help and are glad you had a positive experience here, please do get in touch if you ever need us in the future.
All the staff were very friendly and caring. If Mum needed a little holiday again, I would be happy for her to stay again.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words, I have shared this with the team in the home and would love to welcome your mum back anytime. Thank you.
We have taken our mum to Barchester Crabwall Hall Care Home for a couple of weeks respite care following a spell in hospital with pneumonia and subsequent breathing difficulties. Every single member of staff has been kind and caring and very patient towards her, even when she has been behaving in a difficult manner! We could not have wished for more. Everyone who has visited her there has been extremely impressed with the facilities and the care provided. If she needs any further nursing care or respite care in the future, we will definitely be requesting a place at Crabwall.
Thank you so much for your review! It's a pleasure to have Mum here and we are happy to have been able to help. Please do get in touch if you need us in the future.
I found the lack of clothe pegs in my room annoying. I found the fee expensive.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you found the fee to be expensive, our prices have recently increased due to inflation but we do keep fees as low as we can and these are regularly reviewed. I would also like to thank you for choosing us whenever you require respite as I am aware you have...
My brother has been living in Crabwall Hall for 3 years now. Since living there he is noticeably happier and in a better place mentally than living at home alone. All the staff are so caring, patient and welcoming to residents and family alike and happy to chat about any concerns which might occur. My brother tells everyone, “ Living at Crabwall is like living in a hotel”. It has been a lifeline for him and for me as his only family member.
Thank you so much for your review! We appreciate the positive feedback and I will share it with the team. Your brother does seem very happy and content here and enjoys his trips out.
We are extremely happy with the care provided to our aunt. She has dementia and the staff are wonderful at helping her to join in the wide range of activities each day. Her general welfare, safety and happiness are important to us and we feel Barchester Crabwall Hall Care Home achieves a great balance for her. Staff are always welcoming and approachable.
Thank you so much for your review and kind feedback, we love seeing all the residents join in with the activities and your aunt loves them, especially the singing!
Mum is very happy here. She really likes the carers and they like her. It is top-quality care but it is expensive compared to other facilities. The location and gardens are first-class. Mum's care and happiness are most important.
Thank you for your review, Mum seems very happy and content here, especially when the wonderful belly dancers are here!
All staff were extremely friendly, helpful and informative.
When required, my mother will stay again or visit for tea.
Thanks so much for taking the time to review. We are glad Mum enjoyed her stay and would love to have her come back. Please do contact us should you need anything in the future. We have an 'Open Day' on 6th July, feel free to come along!

Meet the Team (13)

Welcome to Crabwall Hall Care Home. My name is Nicole, and I am the General Manager here.
I have been working within the care sector since 2007, starting my career as a Carer in Guernsey, where I grew up. Through my own personal experiences at an early age, I developed a strong passion for delivering heartfelt, meaningful care, and this passion has continued throughout my life.
I joined Crabwall Hall in 2017, where I began working as a Carer. I have flourished here, and Barchester have supported my career growth over the years. I have worked my work through the ranks to Senior Carer, Deputy Manager, and I was thrilled to step into the role of General Manager in 2023.
I love what I do, and I am proud and privileged to have the opportunity to care for the older generation, who deserve so much, and I lead my team to deliver a high standard of person-centred care to our residents, placing them at the heart of everything we do.
Do feel free to pop in and meet our wonderful team and ask any questions that you may have.
We are all more than happy to help.

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I am the home administrator here at Crabwall Hall. My role is varied, from meeting and greeting our residents, their families and visitors to the home to supporting the home's General Manager with the finance and administration duties within the home.
Every day is different here at Crabwall Hall. The best part of my job is meeting new people, showing them what we provide and getting to know each person well as they move in and become part of the Crabwall Hall community.
I look forward to you visiting and showing you around our wonderful home!

Hi, I'm Kerry. I work at Reception and usually the first face you see when you arrive at Crabwall Hall.

Hi, I'm Ian, the Head Chef here at Crabwall Hall.
I have been a Chef since I left school, starting on what was then a YTS training scheme - it was the making of me, and I have embraced every opportunity since then.
I joined the team at Crabwall in 2015 and bring a wealth of experience from working as a Head Chef in contract catering and in an oriental restaurant. I enjoy being creative, and I listen carefully to what Residents like and dislike to make sure I deliver a menu that suits their needs. I even take special requests.
Not just a Chef, I enjoy building relationships with our Residents, chatting with them in the dining room and immersing myself in their day-to-day lives at Crabwall and being part of the community.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
As a team, we are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. I ensure the team knows each resident's preferences, so that together we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.
I love my job - every single day is different and has variety, and there's always something going on at Crabwall Hall.

I want our Residents to be happy and content. I bring ideas and creativity to activities we offer and always chat to Residents about what they want to do. It is important that Residents feel listened to and have choices.
Pop along to the home and see what we get up to - we always welcome visitors to join in with our activities and events.

It's important to me that Residents live in a clean and tidy home, as it supports their wellbeing. I want the home to feel welcoming for families and visitors, and for Residents to feel proud of where they live.

We take great pride in making sure their home and rooms are spotlessly clean. Taking pride in their home is important for the residents, and as a team, we feel passionate about this too.
The lovely part of the role is that we get to know each resident and the ways we can make them happy by the little touches that can lighten their da,y including having a chat as we work.
