Came here for respite care and, as I am on my own and was recovering from a broken hip, decided to stay. Never thought I would want to be in a home but have been pleasantly surprised. It is not perfect but everyone is kind and thoughtful. The building is very nice and lovely gardens. I think it would be difficult to find a better place.
Crabwall was home to my mother-in-law for 4 1/2 years until her recent death. She was safe and happy here. Staff looked after her with care, humour and dignity. Even as her health deteriorated she was encouraged to be involved in daily life within the home. Whenever we visited we were made to feel very welcome. Any queries we had were dealt with quickly, effectively and sympathetically. Throughout the last days of her life, she was made to feel cherished. She was monitored so carefully that we knew she was receiving the best possible care.
Thank you for your positive comments about our home, it is touching to hear how happy your mother-in-law is and how she received 'the best possible care' here at Crabwall Hall. The team will be touched by your kind words. Best wishes to you and your family.
My sister has been with you a number of years. She has been looked after, both medically and personally so well that it was always a joy to visit her. We live many miles away in Oxfordshire but she was always ready and dressed beautifully when we arrived and her wellbeing shone through. Everyone on the staff was so pleased to see us and looked after us.
Thank you for your lovely comments about our home. At Crabwall Hall, we pride ourselves on the high standard of care that we deliver, so it is wonderful to hear how pleased you are with your sister's wellbeing in our home. Your comments will be passed onto the Home Manager and team, who will be delighted to hear your fantastic feedback. Thank you again.
She settled in extremely well and was encouraged to socialise which she did and made a few friends and she really enjoyed her stay.
The staff were extremely kind, patient and professional and I felt extremely confident that mum would be safe, very well cared for and happy.
It is well managed with caring and professional staff.
Mum has settled well and is happy there.
It is welcoming to visitors with handy hot drink facilities.
It is reassuring to know that Mum is receiving the care that she needs.
We are pleased with my mother-in-law's new home and environment, she has settled. We find the staff very pleasant and caring and it is particularly important that there is a constant visible staff presence.
Very pleased with this home. Staff are always cheerful and most have been here for many years.
I am always very impressed by the warm welcome I get when visiting my mother-in-law; every member of staff (and a good few residents) that I pass have the time to smile and say hello. I would like to praise the activities staff in particular, who know the residents really well through their 'one-to-one' meetings and work hard to ensure residents' interests are met and encourage participation in the many varied activities.
I would highly recommend this home to friends. I can ring anytime, day or night, and always get a warm response.
My mother loves being here, she is really settled.
Thank you to all staff.
It was with some tribulation that I first entered Crabwall Hall Care Home as a resident, my first and only experience of this sort of facility. I wouldn't have been concerned; I found myself in a comfortable, ensuite accommodation which was quiet with a pleasant view overlooking the garden. The staff and other residents are very friendly and helpful - first names used throughout. Breakfasts are on trays and all other meals come in the comfortable dining room, adjacent to the cafe lounge. There is a large TV, supplementing the smaller units found in personal accommodation. This is a very friendly and comfortable place to be, which I return to frequently.
Excellent care home.
Lovely home. My Mother stayed here for one week's respite and was treated like a queen. All the staff were friendly and helpful, lovely atmosphere. The home is well run, clean environment. No smell. My mum will be back.
Many thanks for your lovely comments about Crabwall Hall. The team really love to hear about the good stuff. Coming to stay for a short period of time is a lovely way to try out our service and I am so pleased that we were able to make your mum’s stay special. If you took advantage of using the...
Home felt very friendly and welcoming, with genuine warmth and laughter between residents and staff. Very clean and all the staff I spoke to seem to really care.
With no previous experience of communal living, it took a while to adjust to a new lifestyle but the staff are friendly and helpful in introducing me to new practices and routines.
I was very impressed with how sufficient management were to assist me with emergency respite from hospital. I was so worried about going back home alone. I have booked further respite to come again in July.
Staff very helpful and caring. Calm, safe atmosphere.
Staff very friendly, approachable and supportive during 18 months residency to date. All support and required facilities on hand.
Crabwall Hall is like going to stay at a very friendly family home. My mother-in-law likes it there, friends are living in the home. There is a cat which she loves. All the staff treat her with dignity and support. My mother-in-law has been in three times in 3 years, each time an excellent time there.
My mother has received good care and been happy and supported since she moved into Crabwall Hall 5 years ago.
The support has matched her changing needs over this period. The home is accessible and welcoming.
The staff are excellent and caring, the food is also excellent, I don't eat red meat and was always offered an alternative. I will certainly recommend Crabwell Hall.

Meet the Team (13)

Welcome to Crabwall Hall Care Home. My name is Nicole, and I am the General Manager here.
I have been working within the care sector since 2007, starting my career as a Carer in Guernsey, where I grew up. Through my own personal experiences at an early age, I developed a strong passion for delivering heartfelt, meaningful care, and this passion has continued throughout my life.
I joined Crabwall Hall in 2017, where I began working as a Carer. I have flourished here, and Barchester have supported my career growth over the years. I have worked my work through the ranks to Senior Carer, Deputy Manager, and I was thrilled to step into the role of General Manager in 2023.
I love what I do, and I am proud and privileged to have the opportunity to care for the older generation, who deserve so much, and I lead my team to deliver a high standard of person-centred care to our residents, placing them at the heart of everything we do.
Do feel free to pop in and meet our wonderful team and ask any questions that you may have.
We are all more than happy to help.

Hi, I'm Gemma, the Deputy Manager here at Crabwall Hall.
I joined the team in 2023, bringing a wealth of care experience and knowledge from a long career in the healthcare industry.
Working in Residential care is extremely rewarding, ensuring Residents are happy and healthy and continue to thrive.
I lead the clinical teams, ensuring care plans are detailed and maintained, resulting in the highest quality of care.
I am passionate about making sure we have communication with our Residents' families and operate an open-door policy - you are always welcome!

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I am the home administrator here at Crabwall Hall. My role is varied, from meeting and greeting our residents, their families and visitors to the home to supporting the home's General Manager with the finance and administration duties within the home.
Every day is different here at Crabwall Hall. The best part of my job is meeting new people, showing them what we provide and getting to know each person well as they move in and become part of the Crabwall Hall community.
I look forward to you visiting and showing you around our wonderful home!

Hi, I'm Kerry. I work at Reception and usually the first face you see when you arrive at Crabwall Hall.
I work alongside Michelle in meeting and greeting residents, their families and visitors to our home. I like interacting with people; the reception desk is always busy, and the role is varied. I love getting to know residents; they have amazing stories to tell, and every day is different.
The staff are a wonderful group of people whose sole aim is to give the very best care and attention to every resident. I look forward to you visiting and showing you around our wonderful home!

Hi, I'm Ian, the Head Chef here at Crabwall Hall.
I have been a Chef since I left school, starting on what was then a YTS training scheme - it was the making of me, and I have embraced every opportunity since then.
I joined the team at Crabwall in 2015 and bring a wealth of experience from working as a Head Chef in contract catering and in an oriental restaurant. I enjoy being creative, and I listen carefully to what Residents like and dislike to make sure I deliver a menu that suits their needs. I even take special requests.
Not just a Chef, I enjoy building relationships with our Residents, chatting with them in the dining room and immersing myself in their day-to-day lives at Crabwall and being part of the community.

Hello, I'm Debbie, a Team Leader at Crabwall Hall.
I have been with Barchester since 2009, but joined the care team in 2013, having been inspired by the quality of care my colleagues delivered. I made the move.
Ensuring our Residents live a safe, happy and fulfilled life is important to me. Crabwall Hall is one big family, and we welcome everyone with open arms.
Come for a visit and see what we have to offer!

Hi, I am Sarah. Along with Debbie, I am a Team Leader. I have worked at Crabwall Hall since 1997, and within that time, I have worked my way up to where I am now. I love my role, providing care to all our residents, ensuring our team go above and beyond for everyone here.

Hi, I'm Jacqui, the Activities Co-ordinator here at Crabwall Hall, and I joined the team in 2023.
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
As a team, we are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. I ensure the team knows each resident's preferences, so that together we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.
I love my job - every single day is different and has variety, and there's always something going on at Crabwall Hall.

Hello, I'm Karen, and I am a member of the Activities Team at Crabwall Hall.
I have been a member of the team since 2012. We adopt a whole home approach at Crabwall, so I also help out in the kitchen and care when needed too - we all work together.
I want our Residents to be happy and content. I bring ideas and creativity to activities we offer and always chat to Residents about what they want to do. It is important that Residents feel listened to and have choices.
Pop along to the home and see what we get up to - we always welcome visitors to join in with our activities and events.

Hi, I'm Kath, Head Housekeeper at Crabwall Hall.
I have been at the home since 2019, joining as a Cleaner, before trying my hand as a Carer, which I loved. However, when the opportunity came for the Head Housekeeping role, I knew that's where my strengths were.
It's important to me that Residents live in a clean and tidy home, as it supports their wellbeing. I want the home to feel welcoming for families and visitors, and for Residents to feel proud of where they live.
Please come and see us at Crabwall, visit our Residents and enjoy our home with us.

Hi, we are members of the housekeeping team and enjoy working at Crabwall. The residents feel like part of our extended family. We take great pride in making sure their home and rooms are spotlessly clean. Taking pride in their home is important for the residents, and as a team, we feel passionate about this too.
The lovely part of the role is that we get to know each resident and the ways we can make them happy by the little touches that can lighten their da,y including having a chat as we work.

Hi, my name is Paul, and I joined the team at Crabwall in 2013. I am Head of Maintenance.

It is all for the benefit of the Residents. They deserve to live in a beautiful home.

I joined the team in 201,9 and straight away I felt right at home. I support Residents at mealtimes and ensure they have a quality dining experience. I spend time chatting to Residents because it's important that mealtimes are a social experience.
Prior to joining Crabwall, I was a waitress at The Queens Hotel in Chester.
