New Milton House

We chose New Milton House for my nan back in December 2021. We couldn’t be happier with the care she is receiving since moving here. It was overwhelming for her at first with being in a ‘new home', but all the staff have made her feel so welcome and we’ve seen such an improvement in her. She’s back to her cheeky self. The staff are so accommodating and have such a friendly and approachable nature to them and are so very compassionate in their ways. I can’t thank them enough for everything they do. They go above and beyond. Thank you for everything that you all do and for making me at feel at ease knowing my nan is in a safe and loving community.

We've found New Milton House to be a safe, clean, comfortable and very caring home. We're really pleased with how well our mother has settled in. She feels safe and well cared for. She's relaxing, eating well and enjoying the social interaction with the daily activities and at meal times. Overall it gives us piece of mind that she's in the right place and is being well cared for.

We, as a family, couldn’t be happier with the care and attention mum receives. They always keep us informed and are there to answer any questions we may have. 100% I would recommend New Milton House.

My husband is a resident in New Milton House and I am more than happy with it. I cannot praise the staff enough. The carers are wonderful, so pleasant and accommodating, cannot do enough to please. I also love the amount of activities they do with the residents, always something going on for them; trips out into the village, the park and even the local club for a game of dominoes. It’s way beyond my expectations and I would highly recommend the home. I’m more than happy with it and my hubby is too. All in all, I would give it 100 out of 100.

The care given to my mother over the last two years has been outstanding. The staff are superb and are very passionate about their work even when working with the day-to-day challenges that people with dementia create. A caring environment created by caring staff.

From the moment I stepped into New Milton House with Mum I felt as if it was home. Smiley faces, welcoming smiles, happy residents, fluffy black cat and a proper dining room. Highly recommended, Mum has basically been locked up since 2020 when she was admitted to the hospital and their place in care and now she is home and happy at New Milton House.

When I visit the staff always greet me with a smile, it's like being amongst friends. The management are lovely and are always available. Top marks from me for New Milton House.

Mum is very well cared for here, well-fed, clean and warm. Her room is cost and warm. We, as a family, are welcome to call any time.

I highly recommend New Milton House. My Dad is very well cared for, is treated like family, and he “really likes the food”. The staff are very attentive and caring and do all they can to ensure everyone is happy. The home is clean and warm, and the staff are very welcoming to visitors too.

We have always been very happy with the home since we moved my parents in from out of area several years ago. They did their best to keep my father as long as possible to allow them to be together, and now look after mum really well. We are moving further away but have decided as she is settled that we are happy her staying in an environment she is comfortable in and feels looked after rather than move her again. We would recommend this place a sentiment mum herself has echoed.

I have nothing but praise for New Milton House. In the short time, I have known them, I have always been impressed to see the care, compassion and kindness shown to both residents and relatives alike. Any concerns are addressed very swiftly, and it already feels as though I have known them for a much longer time.

New Milton House is an excellent home with a fantastic caring, well-mannered staff. It has given my husband and myself peace of mind that my uncle is being cared for and well looked after. My uncle has settled and always says he can't fault the staff or meals and he 'likes it here', his words. Thank you to all the management and staff.

Very friendly and attentive staff who genuinely care for their residents. Excellent communication when anything happens or is needed from the family. As a family, we are very pleased with the care being provided and have recommended the home to another friend of the family for their relative.

Mum resided at New Milton House since March 2017, once she had settled into her new surroundings, mum remained so happy playing bingo, going on trips, she went to see Jimmy Osmond with some of the girls, had a fantastic time there,one of the girls asked jimmy if she could take a photo of him with my mum, which he agreed to, My mum was delighted as I have that photo too and her face says it all. Mum loved the quizzes they would put on at the home, she danced at the party's and sang at the top of her voice. It leaves us with such very happy memories of the times we spent with mum at the home. A far cry from how she was living at home. Thanks to the efforts of the manager and her team we are forever grateful to them. Because of them, my mum had a very happy three years of being cared for with such dignity and love. We as a family who loved her would like to thank both management and staff for their kindness and professionalism that they all showed.

Although mum is happy at Milton House, I have reservations about some of the aspects below. Over the last few years, the home has been decorated and new flooring laid but the furnishings are dated and shabby now. The daytime staff are caring and friendly but we have no idea about the night time carers. I feel that there are many hours just spent sitting instead of residents being encouraged to join in independent and group activities. As with most care establishments, there are not enough carers so one to one time is limited or non-existent.
