In the main everything good. Some difficulty in movement as wheelchair bound and unable to use a lift without help. Sometimes staff very busy.
Thank you for the feedback. Company policy is that moving and handling equipment is to be used by two members of staff. This is to ensure the safety of the resident is our main priority.
My mother Janet is a resident at Turnpike. I live in Plymouth so it's extremely important to me to know that my mum is being cared for. On each and every visit the home is spotless, the staff are great. My mum appears to be very well cared for. Thank you
Thank you for the feedback. I will pass this onto the staff.
My mother is treated with respect and understanding. She is safe and very well cared for. All the staff are kind and there is a continuity of care - which is so important and is demonstrated in how they understand each individual. Her room is kept v. clean and she enjoys chatting to the cleaners everyday. Her clothes are v. well looked after pressed and returned - with a smile. Facilities are given a good as there is limited outdoor space for walk - but he was fault! Thank you to all the staff.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. I will ensure this is passed onto the team.
Care staff are exemplary - obliging, cheerful and friendly. The building is warm, clean and well maintained and the food looks to be appetising. GP cover is on a weekly basis but available on other occasions as necessary as are district nurses. There is a coordinator on site who organises such activities as jigsaws, colouring, games with a beachball, flower arranging etc and also arranges some outside local trips. There are occasional events eg pets, specials such as Valentine's Day, Easter etc. Residents birthdays are also celebrated.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. I will ensure that this is passed to the team.
The standard of care is excellent. My father is dressed appropriately to the occasions. The problems we have found is other peoples clothing and underwear being used on him even though he has ample of his own clothes in the wardrobe. I have had a big problem of his glasses going missing and both pairs had gone but they managed to find his distance ones. A very expensive issues is his hearing aid to his left ear missing. There are very specialised as they link to his T.V. I have informed the staff weekly for the past 5 weeks. The staff need to actually sit and talk to client to get to know more and their past and activities they are interested in.
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you are happy with the overall standard of care, and we take all concerns seriously. Regarding the glasses, they have been located multiple times. Our team was informed that your father had the capacity, and these glasses were left behind in the communal...
Barbara came for 2 weeks care as I had suffered a heart attack. We were very pleased with the love and care she received.
Thank you for the lovely review. I will pass this onto the team.
My aunt is 96. She has dementia and is virtually non verbal. However she is very happy and comfortable. When the staff approach her she greets them with her beautiful smelie. Today I went to visit and a carer was helping her eat and drink. They even had some lovely juicy watermelon for her. If there is anything she needs a receive a personal friendly phone call. Nothing is too much trouble!
Thank you for the lovely feedback. I will pass this onto the team.
Always find the staff extremely helpful and friendly and have to make special mention of one member of staff who was very helpful and obviously the residents found her so and it was nice to see her interacting with a residents who had done some colouring for her. A fine example of a kind and compationate lady. Thanks for delivering the newspaper to my Brother
Thank you for your review. I will pass this lovely review on to the team.
The home allowed flexibility when visiting and welcomed mums beloved dog to visit too.
The staff were attentive and kept us informed regarding any concerns or changes.
The food suited mum too, as she managed to put some weight on during her time in Turnpike too (which was a welcome relief).
The home took good care of her to the end and were kind, supportive and respectful to myself and brother. They offer practical help too, at a difficult time.
I'm glad we chose Turnpike for Mum, it was right for her, the staff were kind and gentle. Overall it was appropriate for her longer term declining health and function regarding dementia.
Thank you for the lovely review. I will ensure that this is passed onto all the staff at Turnpike Court.
Mum spent 6 happy years at Turnpike Court. The staff were always helpful. They provided care with dignity. At the end of life they were truly helpful. The young lady made us to feel that everything was being the best for my mum.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. Your mum is missed by all at Turnpike Court.
Admitted here 9/6/24 in to lovely room with good facilities. I have been very happy here due to many years working for social services used to residential life. This is a well run home coping with staff shortage at times.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. It is lovely for you to be here at Turnpike Court
I have nothing but praise for the staff at Turnpike Court. My mother lived there for the last two-and-a-half years of her life and was treated with nothing but dignity and respect. Her individual needs regarding her dietary requirements and her desire to spend periods of time in her own room were met to her satisfaction. She formed good relationships with the staff and although her dementia meant that sometimes her behaviour could be difficult, this never affected the compassionate and understanding care that she received. Thank you.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. Your mum was a pleasure to care for.
My Nan has been her for almost two years, absolutely fabulous service, made to feel welcome by all staff, staff polite, friendly and caring. Everyone made an effort with her and made her time here feel like home.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to care for your nan.
Dad was a resident in Turnpike Court from September 2023 until 3 days before he sadly died in January 2025. Staff were always warm, friendly and welcoming and the unit had a very 'family' feel. Residents were treated with dignity and respect and care was personalised. Activities were well planned and organised, and there was a variety of group and one-to-one activities and trips out. Dad was extremely happy at Turnpike Court.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt experience. We're deeply sorry for your loss and truly appreciate your kind words about Turnpike Court. It means so much to know that your dad felt happy and well cared for.
I find Turnpike an excellent place for my wife. She is well cared for and the staff are very helpful.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. This will be passed onto the staff at Turnpike Court.
It's not just a care home it's a family and they take exceptional care of Mum nothing is too much.
They are only a phone call away day or night if I need care for Mum. I couldn't be happier knowing Mum is cared for just the way I do. Mum is so happy when she stays and all the girls smile when they see her and say "Hi, would you like a coffee?". Mum seems so happy when she's there. So if you need care for a loved one Turnpike Court is the place to go you won't be disappointed.
Thank you to all the staff for being so caring and always being there for Mum and I.
100% fantastic service.
Kind regards.
Thank you for such a lovely review. This means so much to all the staff that work exceptionally hard to make sure that our residents are looked after and cared for in a way that they deserve. Your mum is a pleasure to care for and is always welcome.
We took my sister to the shops and returned approximately 4:30pm after quite an experience of shopping. We went to a local shopping centre for the first time mainly to shop for my sister to get Christmas presents - lift was broken - no cafe. We returned cold and thirsty. When we got back to the home, a buffet was taking place with entertainment later. We were asked to join in and were given refreshments and sat with my sister for a couple of hours. This was very pleasant and very much appreciated.
Thank you for the lovely review. This is highly appreciated this will be passed onto the team.
She is happy and well cared for.
Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff at Turnpike Court.
Thank you to all at Turnpike Court.
Thank you for your kind words. I will ensure that the staff are aware of your appreciation.
The care my father receives is excellent. All of the staff have taken the time and effort to get to know and understand my father and his needs. His medical needs are all well considered and taken care of which has given me a massive relief. I appreciate the staff being so friendly when I visit and updating me with all information required as next of kin. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the review. Your father is a pleasure to care for. I will ensure staff are informed of your appreciation.
The manager and the team were able to take my mum as a resident when other care homes in the area could not or would not, due to Mum's dementia and behaviour. The manager said this would not be an issue and she was correct. The home looked after my mum with care and compassion, in a warm, friendly environment. Full compliments to everyone at the home.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We are delighted to know your mother is happy and comfortable with us. We always work hard to support our users with the best care possible. I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the team. Kind regards.
