Turnpike Court

My mother has been in Turnpike Court care home since January and has been treated with care and respect. All the staff are very patient and are always cheerful when I ring to see how she is. They have dealt with the effects of the pandemic and are all still smiling through this difficult time.

I am not suggesting the last 6 months have been easy for anyone, however, the standard of care has gone down dramatically. Relatives are not treated with respect. Information is not forthcoming. Simple requests are not dealt with. The rules are changed not from week to week but day to day. Messages left to speak to management are not returned. My relative's clothes are not changed. In the end, a social worker had to be called. I asked for a GP review regarding my mother - it was not done so I arranged this myself.

There is nothing more I can say other than my husband is very lucky to be in Turnpike Court.

My father is very well looked after at Turnpike Court, he has settled in very well and trust all of them to look after him and any problems they will call and it is always sorted.

I am very pleased with the care and attention my sister is having, she says that they are all lovely to her and the home is kept spotless and the meals are excellent. My sister was admitted on the day of lockdown so I have visited her either through the window or just lately in the room with the plastic sheet in between us.

The staff are really good friendly and welcoming. Sometimes I have trouble getting through on the phone to the dementia side where my dad is even when I leave calling to a suitable time say 11sm. My dad is very happy in Turnpike Court and always seems well cared for. I am happy that I have been able to visit him during these difficult times and I thank you so much for that, but sometimes I get double booked but can work around it.

My aunt has lived at Turnpike for approximately 5 years and has always been well looked after. The staff have been polite and considerate to her from the beginning. I have never had any concerns about her care and staff have always been very helpful and kept me updated.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to the management and all of the staff for their care and professionalism shown to my stepmother, through her time living at Turnpike Court, she was happy and cared for with dignity, enjoying time at the party's and making gifts and doing the exercise classes, it leaves us with a lot of happy memories which were are very grateful for. We take great comfort in knowing she was cared for so very well right to the very end. once again a huge thank you to everyone.

My mother transferred to Turnpike Court from Leighton Hospital for intermediate care prior to her returning to her home. I was immediately impressed by all of the staff at Turnpike court who showed a genuine interest in my mother and the staff worked hard to make her as comfortable as possible. Soon after my mother arrived at Turnpike Court it became evident that she would need some short-term nursing care support and the staff were quick to seek help and liaised with all concerned to affect a transfer as quickly as possible. The staff at turnpike court were extremely friendly and showed great compassion to all the residents. True professionals who seemed to really care.

I would thoroughly recommend Turnpike Court. My mother has had some rather complex pain issues during her three-week rehabilitation stay as a resident and all her carers have gone the extra mile to help. Both myself and my brother are very impressed by the professionalism, kindness and respect shown by all the staff. Clearly quality of care comes first. Thank you for all your help attending to our mother’s needs.

My father has been coming to this home since May. He seems to look forward to coming here, enjoying talking to the staff and residents and enjoying some good home-cooked meals. Father knows he is being looked after.

My Father was admitted as a resident with severe dementia, mobility and feeding needs. The Home did not meet these Care requirements in my opinion.

Communication with staff is good. All staff are helpful and friendly.

Dad is well looked after in the home, the staff give him lots of attention and affection. We have found all the staff very approachable during periods of illness and have been very proactive to ensure an effective treatment and recovery.

My aunt lives at at Turnpike Court, staff are vary caring. I think my Aunt is happy there and feels safe.

Home is very well appointed and all staff are kind and attentive. Mother is well looked after despite her awkwardness.

Brilliant staff and place. Since my dad has been in here he has improved drastically. He suffers from dementia and since he has been a resident it's like I have my dad back! Just goes to show the staff really care for people. Can't thank them enough.

Turnpike is a pleasant and safe environment to leave mum for daycare. Knowing this I am able to continue to work before taking over her care for the rest of the time. On a personal level mum would benefit from a more physically active day, however, the companionship needs are helped by the environment.

My mother has been staying in the home for the last two months, during this time I have found all the staff without exception very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is always very good whenever I visit, which is about three times a week. The home is very clean and tidy and is a pleasant place to visit. My mother seems very settled already in a short space of time. I would find it very difficult to find any faults whatsoever. I would strongly recommend the home to anybody.

My mother, who had dementia has lived at Turnpike Court for six years. In all of that time she has been treated as an individual with what can only be described as loving care. The staff built a very good relationship with her and the family members from the start. I would have no hesitation in recommending Turnpike Court to anybody in need of care.
