Woodeaves specialises in enriching the lives of elderly people, not because they care more than you, but just because it is what they do.

Having previously been looked after by parents or loved ones it can be difficult to adapt to the change of having to look after them. Looking after them doesn’t necessarily mean you providing their daily care it means making sure they receive the daily care and support they require to live a happy and fulfilled life.

Earlier this year, I had to place my mum in residential care unexpectedly. It was a very difficult time and the manager at Woodeaves Residential Care Home was extremely understanding and empathetic. The staff at Woodeaves are always very helpful when I speak to them and they have dealt with the restraints
of the pandemic in a careful and considered way. I feel that Mum is happy and cared for at all times within a homely environment.

Thank you so much Rachel for your positive review. It's great to hear how pleased you are with the care and support we provide. As you know your mum has settled into our Woodeaves family well and is very much at home here.

My mother was admitted to Woodeaves at the beginning of the pandemic, a worrying time for everyone. The manager ensured the admittance process was efficient and effective. I have no doubt that my mother's care has been of the highest standards throughout her stay and hopefully, this will continue into
the future. The home has taken all appropriate measures to enable contact/visiting during this time, to allow her to lead as a fulfilling life as possible.

Thank you for your great review Mark, it's really appreciated. The staff team at Woodeaves are committed to providing the highest standards of care possible. It's wonderful to see your mum is so settled here.

I would like to congratulate Woodeaves Care Home. My very close friend is resident in Woodeaves. Since COVID, it has been a very worrying time, but Woodeaves have been brilliant with their communication with me when I have called to ask about my friend. They set up technology for me to see and speak
with her and we could always wave through the window too! Now they have also made the care home very safe for visiting, with safety measures like infection control and PPE to wear when I visit so I can now see my friend face to face. I feel safe but also I know my friend and the other residents are safe also. You have made me and my friend very happy. Thank you.

The staff of Woodeaves is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. They are loving, caring and insightful. They go above and beyond to make the home feel like home and not a care home. It is always clean and tidy. My mother went to live there in February and despite suffering from dementia, has settled
very quickly.

Over the nine years, Woodeaves have made my Mother in Law feel very much at home. She has been able to have her wishes granted. Excellent staff!! who always make us welcome on our visits!. They go the extra mile - throughout! Any illness they have contacted and responded quickly. Over the Coronavirus
they have raised above and beyond. We feel so very grateful and contented within our choice of Woodeaves. The award should be 1st in my eyes. Well done!!

What impresses me about Woodeaves is how the staff treat the residents with such dignity and kindness. Normally we are welcome to visit at any time. We cant at the moment because of the Coronavirus restrictions. Woodeaves has a homely atmosphere and is a happy place.

My mother recently has a month's respite care at Woodeaves, which has helped her to regain most of her confidence, walking skills have improved and she has been able to take a bath, which she really enjoyed. The home is very well presented and welcoming and the staff are very friendly, hardworking and
caring. Attentive, cleanliness is second to none and the activities and entertainment are inspiring. The residents are treated with dignity. The meals red well planned and varied. There is a great family atmosphere from the moment you arrive. I can't praise Woodeaves enough for the difference it has made to her.

My Mum has been at Woodeaves almost a year.
Every time I visit I am impressed with the care she gets and the staff.
It is personal, appropriate and I know they do the best they can.
The staff are always smart, polite, professional, patient and unfazed.
Meds are handled well, suggestions to enhance
care are made and I know Mum is treated with dignity and care.
The staff are always welcoming, the menu always looks good and personal preferences are known and accommodated.
The only thing I would change is Mum's bedroom. Having said that, it was there when we needed it and Mum is happy so it is better not to change things.
This is an excellent home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.503)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.503) out of 10 for Woodeaves Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.903 for Woodeaves Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (65 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.903
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodeaves Residential Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
