Woodeaves specialises in enriching the lives of elderly people, not because they care more than you, but just because it is what they do.

Having previously been looked after by parents or loved ones it can be difficult to adapt to the change of having to look after them. Looking after them doesn’t necessarily mean you providing their daily care it means making sure they receive the daily care and support they require to live a happy and fulfilled life.

This is a place that welcomes residents, friends and families. It is truly caring. The culture is one of authentic care. A warm place in the true sense of both physical care and human caring. The staff and management communicate clearly and honour obligations to both residents and their families. I can recommend Woodeaves to people who want their loved ones to be respected, cared for and treated with patience and affection.

Overall Experience
All the staff, without exception, were wonderful at Woodeaves. My mother was happy and content to stay at the care home and was always very complimentary about the staff and the food which she said was very good. This is high praise indeed as my mother has stayed in numerous care homes previously and has never expressed such satisfaction or any desire to stay any longer than was necessary... This was definitely not the case with Woodeaves.
The only area that I could suggest for improvement is the decor, which is a little tired and dated but this is being very pedantic given the level of care and attention from staff which is the most important aspect from my point of view.
The room that my mum was in, was very warm at times and there was very little ventilation which made the room quite oppressive when the weather was warm.

Overall, I rate Woodeaves and the staff very highly and would have no hesitation in recommending the care home to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

Thank you very much Howard for your lovely comments, your mum was very much part of our family & dearly loved & missed by all, she always had a smile for us & we have some lovely memories with her, when we went down to the pub for lunches which she really enjoyed with the odd tipple.

Overall Experience

My husband was only in Woodeaves for a short time but in that time, I was very happy with the home and the care he received. Unfortunately my husbands condition deteriorated and was unable to stay any longer. I would certainly recommend the home to anyone needing care as the staff were very caring and friendly. A lovely small care home.

Thank you Pauline for your comments, it was a pleasure looking after your husband even if it was for a short time, he still became part of our family here at Woodeaves & will be missed. We would like to wish him all the best in the future.

Staff are always very friendly and communicative. The size makes mum's experience more like her own home but with people to chat to. I would not want anywhere larger. Her room is always clean and cosy.
