Woodeaves specialises in enriching the lives of elderly people, not because they care more than you, but just because it is what they do.

Having previously been looked after by parents or loved ones it can be difficult to adapt to the change of having to look after them. Looking after them doesn’t necessarily mean you providing their daily care it means making sure they receive the daily care and support they require to live a happy and fulfilled life.

The manager was lovely every time I made contact with her regarding my gran. She was extremely helpful/knowledgeable and approachable. It never felt like anything I asked was too much trouble. Thanks again to the manager for your patience with our situation which was not made any easier by another relative adding to your already busy workload. I really appreciated how friendly you were each time I got in touch.

Reply from Lisa Nicholson, Manager at Woodeaves Residential Care Home

Thank you Nicola for your kind words. It really was not a problem, I just wish things could have been different as we really miss your Nan, I hope everything works out for her but if not we would welcome her and your family back with open arms.

Review from Michele (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 21 March 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Since becoming a client of this residential home my mother in law has improved significantly. She is well looked after and encouraged to walk with her frame which she was not doing 12 months ago when she came out of the hospital. The staff are really helpful and take a lot of time and care looking after everyone there. My mother in law is very settled there and is happy and content.

Reply from Lisa Nicholson, Manager at Woodeaves Residential Care Home

Thanks Michele for your review, we are so proud of your mother in law, she has worked with us to become stronger and more independent which is an achievement on her behalf as much as ours and we could not be more proud of her.

I am very pleased with the level of care that my mother receives at Woodeaves Residential Care Home.
Families are made to feel very welcome and it is very homely and comfortable.
The food is varied and of good quality.

Activities are varied, including musical events, church services, gentle physical activities and trips out in the summer.

The home is a warm, friendly environment where residents are comfortable and treated with kindness and respect at all times. Nan has made friends with the carers who are the same staff as when she arrived 2 years ago.

Review from Raymond H (Resident / Service User) published on 28 November 2016 Submitted via Postal Card

The room I had was for use in transit between hospital and returning home and it was acceptable even though there was no en-suite,only one chair, there was a commode and an elevated chair at the wash basin. The room was poorly lit, the one light being located centrally on the ceiling with the chair on one walk. TV. The room being centrally heated was very hot requiring the door to be left open.

Review from J S (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 November 2016 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The home is well managed. They did their best to cope with my mum's problems in difficult circumstances. The food was ok but mum never wanted to eat. They did their best to make food as attractive as possible. The home had a cosy feel. It's especially worth mentioning that they were particularly understanding, empathetic and kind when I became emotional about my mum going into the home.
