I visit my sister regularly and am kept informed by the staff by phone if necessary. She is hard of hearing and confused but well looked after and with a good appetite. During the 3 years of her stay many improvements have been made to the home, especially with regard to entertainment, activities and decorating. I am confident that she is safe and warm.

This is a lovely small care home and just what we were looking for, for mum. The staff really genuinely care for the clients and everyone is treated with dignity. The food always smells great and I often wish I was staying for dinner.
The only negative is the property and grounds could benefit from the owners spending a little more money on them.

We would not fail to recommend this home to friends and family.

My Mother-in-Law was a resident of Ash Cottage and we would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who looked after her. They care about the residents in the home and spend time talking to them, making them feel like they still matter. It was for that reason we picked Ash Cottage. In the time my Mother-in-Law was there she was treated with kindness which to us was very important.

The staff are always on hand to talk to if you have any concerns and will always take time to explain anything you want to know. Thanks again to everyone at the home for looking after my Mother-in-Law so well in the time she spent there.

Overall Experience
My Grandmother moved here a few months ago after she had become very unwell. It was a very worrying time but the staff were very kind and patient and helped her to settle in. They took the time to reassure my Grandmother as well as myself and I felt confident leaving her in their care. I visited her a couple of months after her arrival and could see such a big improvement in her overall physical and mental health. She had even formed a strong bond with a couple of the staff members which was lovely to see. The residents are provided with hot, home-cooked familiar meals each day as well as regular cups of tea, which is a real home comfort.

I am happy with how my Grandmother has settled in and feel reassured that she is well looked after.

Overall Experience

The staff are very caring and friendly making all the residents feel at home. The food is tasty and just like my Mum is used to eating at home. In the 6 weeks that my Mother has been a resident, she has made a remarkable turnaround in her health and general well-being. For someone who we did not think would ever settle in a home, she has settled brilliantly. She has been prompted to be more sociable and has responded beyond my wildest hopes. The décor and building are being refurbished. I can not recommend this home enough for the way it has helped my mother.

Overall Experience

My mother stays regularly at Ash Cottage for respite, ranging from weekends to two weeks holiday stays. She always receives excellent care and is very happy there. Mum has been in many homes for respite stays over the last four years and Ash Cottage is simply the best. The staff are caring and very attentive and always do everything they can to help. Meals are excellent and making mum something different to everyone else is never too much trouble. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
