The staff at Finch Manor are helpful, supportive, understanding and have been a lifeline to not only my father in law but us as a family
They have helped us understand dementia better on days where it can be tough
It's nice to be able to breath a sigh of relief as the care is amazing and the staff
are very patient and caring and finally we don't
need to worry about safety
Best thing we ever did was support him coming here
Thank you so much

Marmaduke Street Care Home

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Our experience with this 'care' home, I use the word 'care' loosely as there is no care, my mum was in this place for 6 months, she was bed bound, unable to attend to her personal care and struggled with feeding herself. She was left for long periods of time on her own, as a result of this sustained
pressure sores which became infected, although it was care planned for her to be turned every 2 hours this didn't happen, even when staff were prompted by family members. Trying to contact this place is a nightmare, nobody picks up, numerous times I would have to contact the EMI unit upstairs to then be transferred to the nurses office, poor in my opinion. Mums diet was poor, she deteriorated quickly over the months she was there, food was basically put in front of her and she was left to feed herself, bearing in mind she was unable to do this herself. I could go on and on but it won't bring my mum back, long story short avoid this place!

Croxteth Park Care Home

I can't speak highly enough of Croxteth Park Care Home. From the moment you walk in, its clear the staff truly care about residents. They look after my mum with genuine dignity, compassion and respect, which gives our family great peace of mind. The home itself is always well maintained and smells fresh
on every visit, which makes a big difference. The food is excellent, with a varied and thoughtful menu that residents seem to enjoy. One of the stand out features is the activites team. They do a fantastic job keeping residents engaged and entertained, organising everything from in home activites to day out on the bus, trips to local park and visits to nearby shops. The management team are very approachable and supportive. Overall I'm incredibly grateful for the care my mum receives here and would highly recommend Croxteth Park Care Home.

My Mum has been at Lilly ward since mid-March this year, having been transferred there from hospital. I'll admit that I had some initial doubts after reading a few reviews, but I can honestly say I am so pleased that she is there. The staff are absolutely lovely and genuinely engaging with the residents.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and residents are encouraged to personalise their space with their own belongings. I am always kept fully up to date with Mum's medical care, which gives me great peace of mind. Mum has a curved spine, and Lindsey, the Senior Manager, went above and beyond by getting her a recliner chair so Mum could sit comfortably-something I truly appreciate. Although I initially wanted to move Mum closer to me as I live in North Wales, I now feel that the distance is worth it. Knowing she is safe, comfortable, and so well cared for makes all the difference. I am grateful to the team at Finch Manor for the kindness and care they have shown.

My mother has been a resident for about 4 years and I cannot think more highly of the staff and team members of Finch Manor. They really get to know and understand personally all their residents and ensure they are looked after. They have always been very good at keeping me informed about my mum as
I live down in Dorset so I have always felt reassured that mum is safe and cared for at all times. Regular assessments have always been updated to match mum's changing health issues. Sadly my Mum passed away on 14th March but she was not alone and cared for till the end and that leaves me great comfort. Even now the staff are being so kind to me whilst I am organising everything...they are asking am I OK and here if you need anything and that's so generous and kind. It's very challenging at times to look after other people's loved ones but I will be forever grateful that my mum was there at Finch Manor...bless you all and thank you.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Dad received excellent care at Bennett House during his final weeks. The staff are like one big family and look after the residents like they are one of their own. The home may not be new but it's clean. warm and cosy and we are so thankful he was offered a place there on Jasmine. Dad was always
clean and shaved ( he hated stubble) and his dignity was maintained. Every single member of staff regardless of role always greeted us with a smile and hello and were always happy to answer our questions. My Mum was always kept fully informed of any changes. Thank you Lisa and team.

Dad was admitted to Bluebell ward in August for assessment and we visit 4 to 5 times per week and always find the place spotless , The staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough for you, The in house laundry and kitchen are excellent , On the occasions of trips out they are well looked after
by staff who make sure they fully enjoy themselves I would not hesitate to recommend Finch Manor as it exceeds all our expectations of caring staff who you can be assured are doing all they can for your loved ones , leaving you with peace of mind when you cannot be there,

Since my Dad has been here the management, staff, and nurses have been excellent in caring for my Dad. My Dad can be aggressive due to his illness although the staff are brilliant looking after him and do keep me updated as frequently as they can. The food is of a good quality and his room is kept in
a tidy order and sanitary state. His personal care is of a high standard and his clothes are clean and fresh from the in-house laundry on a daily basis. It's reassuring to know my Dad is being cared for in a true professional manner, and overall I am very pleased and grateful for the standard of care my Dad is receiving.

My experience with this care home
Evening and weekend staff not supervised enough, care for my mum is awful at these times, unfortunately the day staff are let down by evening and weekend staff who come and go at the nod of a head, residents can't rely on them for personal care .
Would be helpful if
they could understand English as well.
Furious with my mum's care
Really don't know what we're paying for apart from shelter and meals
Very annoyed family members

Ellerslie Court

from Lorna C (Mother of Resident) published on 5 August 2025

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
I am deeply disappointed with the standard of care at Ellerslie Court. Basic needs are frequently neglected. Residents often wait excessively long for assistance after ringing the bell, sometimes resulting in accidents. It's heartbreaking to see individuals left wet and uncomfortable after showering
due to lack of timely support.
Communication is poor-residents are not listened to, and their concerns are routinely dismissed. The food quality is substandard and lacks variety or nutritional value. The lift is constantly out of order, leaving residents confined to their rooms for extended periods, which is both isolating and unacceptable.
This environment does not reflect the dignity and respect that vulnerable individuals deserve. I sincerely hope improvements are made urgently.

My dad was in a bad way when I put him into the care home. He has lots of problems along with his dementia. The care he has received is amazing; he looks like a different man. He is clean, loves his food, takes part in lots of activities, and most importantly, he is very happy. The staff are amazing
with him, and I am so happy I chose this care home for him. Very hard-working friendly staff who have time for you as well.

My parents were in Raleigh Court during tbe last few months of their lives. They were treated with respect and dignity. The staff were caring and friendly and fostered a family atmosphere with parties and fun activities for residents. Following a severe stroke my Mum needed round-the-clock nursing care
which was provided by the amazing team. I live 200 miles away and the nurses helped by doing regular phone and video calls so I could keep in touch with mum and dad. I am very grateful to the manager and her team for all they did for my parents and for me during a very difficult time.

I visit my sister regularly and am kept informed by the staff by phone if necessary. She is hard of hearing and confused but well looked after and with a good appetite. During the 3 years of her stay many improvements have been made to the home, especially with regard to entertainment, activities and
