I couldn't be happier with the care my sister receives here. Every member of staff is kind, caring and truly looks after her so well - they know her, respect her and treat her with such warmth. She is always happy, safe and well cared for, and we have complete peace of mind. The home is lovely, clean, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I am so grateful to the whole team - thank you for everything you do.

My brother can have little mood swings sometimes but the staff are able to handle this, and they make him happy again

The manager keeps us all informed of anything and everything if there is anything health wise with mum they get in touch promptly we feel better knowing mum is in good capable hands and is happy what more can you ask for.

From the day my dad went into the care home, he was treated with care, loved and supported. He loved the food and enjoyed taking part in the activities they had. I have got some lovely photos of him living his best life and happy, for which I am very grateful. The managment and staff are very supportive and work hard caring for their residents. The care and dignity my dad received when he passed away is something I will never forget, my respect to all of them. Thank you.

Initially I was worried about the poor things about here. How wrong was I! From first meeting the new manager Claire and activities coordinator Angie. I couldn't wait to come here. I wasn't wrong.It is amazing. Finally a care home that actually cares for the residents mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. It feels like being part of a family. Residents are treated with understanding, respect and dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. It has a lovely warm atmosphere with such a positive energy. They show that they are here for the residents. I only wish they could educate some of the homes I have endured . They offered me degradation, neglect, humiliation, cruelty...I would highly recommend Ellerslie Court a real care home.

My mum is very happy at finch manor and is well cared for. She is well looked after and the staff are lovely and helpful - she is also engaging and her room is always well kept and the environment is clean

What a Refreshing Change My best friend is residing here and 12 months ago when i visited i wasn't impressed to say the least ! I dont want to go into to much detail but the atmosphere was horrible and i just wanted to take my freind home with me but i couldn't as he needs professional care Then along comes a lady named Claire who is now the manager and i dont know how or what she has done but its like she has sprinkled a little magic on Ellerslie Court i was there the other day and im pleased to say its like a completely different place The staff all have a spring in there step All the residents seem as happy and joyful as they can be my mate has a fantastic relationship with a young carer named Kenzie Plus he has Ange who is organising a sponsored walk for those who are able It has realy settled my mind knowing my freind is being well looked after and cared for Plus you got mark the cook who my freind says does boss scran hahahaha Im going up early on my next vist to try get a dinner

My husband went to Bluebell Unit at Finch Manor in February after an extended stay in hospital awaiting a place. As the home is quite a distance from my home I was a little concerned. However after my experience with them over the past six months all doubts have been erased. The staff are exceptionally caring and treat the residents with the upmost dignity and patience. The place is kept spotlessly clean with difficult challenges to negotiate. My husband can be difficult and aggressive but the staff on his unit came to understand his needs and how to deal with them very quickly. And he has settled considerably because of this. A small medical problem was dealt with swiftly and professionally and avoided any complications. My husband is also difficult to feed and can often refuse but the staff patiently coax and make many attempts to encourage him to eat resulting in him now gaining weight where he was once losing. I am more than happy that he is safe and well cared for.

Marmaduke Street is an excellent and extremely well-run care home. Mum has been a resident for over 4 years and receives excellent care. We've always been happy with the care given to Mum here, but have noticed a huge improvement in the home, since the arrival of the current manager, Beverley, together with Jenny. They are professional, friendly, approachable and make every effort get to know the residents and their families. Their door is always open and they always ask how our visit has gone and often chat to me about Mum, showing that they really know their residents, on a personal level. The home is spotlessly clean and staff keep the residents clean and tidy. The food is of good quality, and the menu is varied. Activities are encouraged, for those who can take part and time is spent nurturing those who are less able to join in. Staff seem happy in their work, despite the challenges of caring for those with complex needs. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marmaduke Street Care Home!

My friend moved to Marmaduke care home in March 2026 from a private care home. Sorry i never moved her earlier. The staff here are AMAZING. She is out of bed every day. Previously lucky if got 2 days out of bed. Always staff about making sure drinks are given regularly. She has settled in so well and i think its the staff that have made the move easier. Well done Bev and staff for a job well done

I have noticed a considerable difference in the care provided to service user, the morale of staff, the teamwork and the overall running of the home. They have recently come under new management which has made such a difference to the care delivered. My friends individual needs are considered, everyone within the home is happy and it feels like a different environment compared to 6 months ago. The new manager is on the ball with everything and raises any concerns immediately to us. I hope this continues and would like to say thankyou to the team for caring so dearly for my friend and everyone else in the home. It feels like such a warm atmosphere on walking in, nothing is too much to ask for, the presence of the home manager is more prominent which I think has been vital in the way the care is delivered and the way the home is now being run.

The standard of care at this home has improved significantly under the new management team. The staff demonstrate a truly person-centred approach, combining deep empathy with professional care. They have provided exceptional support to my daughter, adapting well to her individual needs. Following some previous challenges, it is a great relief to finally start feeling at ease, knowing she is safe, secure, and well supported. Thank you to the entire team for their dedication.

Having never been to this establishment, I found the staff, and surrounding area, including the actual home, impressive. Well done!

Our dad came to Finch Manor from a hospital stay , we were concerned about the distance from our homes and previous reviews . We needn't have worried at all Finch Manor and its staff have become our extended family we have been welcomed with open arms and there is nothing they wouldn't do for dad or us , from reception to senior staff , cleaners, laundry staff , chefs and everyone else I've missed they truly go above and beyond for both residents and they're families . All of our worries have gone and we leave dad after visits knowing he will be cared for to the highest of standards ,, in fact dad looks at them as his family and is very happy there . Food is absolutely fabulous even on a special diet he is catered for with the most delicious meals and freshly made puddings all made on site ,, he has put on much needed weight since being here . Any health concerns or medical issues are dealt with straight away with nurses arriving the next day to see him .

I get regular updates and any issues are dealt with.

We feel completely confident and at peace knowing mum is cared for by such a brilliant team. Thank you all - you really do make such a difference.
