Review of Finch Manor from Maria M (Wife of Resident) published on 4 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My husband went to Bluebell Unit at Finch Manor in February after an extended stay in hospital awaiting a place. As the home is quite a distance from my home I was a little concerned. However after my experience with them over the past six months all doubts have been erased. The staff are exceptionally caring and treat the residents with the upmost dignity and patience. The place is kept spotlessly clean with difficult challenges to negotiate. My husband can be difficult and aggressive but the staff on his unit came to understand his needs and how to deal with them very quickly. And he has settled considerably because of this. A small medical problem was dealt with swiftly and professionally and avoided any complications. My husband is also difficult to feed and can often refuse but the staff patiently coax and make many attempts to encourage him to eat resulting in him now gaining weight where he was once losing. I am more than happy that he is safe and well cared for.

Review of Marmaduke Street Care Home from A E (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Marmaduke Street is an excellent and extremely well-run care home. Mum has been a resident for over 4 years and receives excellent care. We've always been happy with the care given to Mum here, but have noticed a huge improvement in the home, since the arrival of the current manager, Beverley, together with Jenny. They are professional, friendly, approachable and make every effort get to know the residents and their families. Their door is always open and they always ask how our visit has gone and often chat to me about Mum, showing that they really know their residents, on a personal level. The home is spotlessly clean and staff keep the residents clean and tidy. The food is of good quality, and the menu is varied. Activities are encouraged, for those who can take part and time is spent nurturing those who are less able to join in. Staff seem happy in their work, despite the challenges of caring for those with complex needs. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marmaduke Street Care Home!

My friend moved to Marmaduke care home in March 2026 from a private care home. Sorry i never moved her earlier. The staff here are AMAZING. She is out of bed every day. Previously lucky if got 2 days out of bed. Always staff about making sure drinks are given regularly. She has settled in so well and i think its the staff that have made the move easier. Well done Bev and staff for a job well done

Review of Glenarie Manor Nursing Home from Pamela I (Sister of Resident) published on 3 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I cannot praise the team at Glenaire Manor enough for the incredible care and compassion they show towards my older brother Donald.
Donald is living with terminal cancer and bipolar disorder, and the staff have treated him with such kindness, dignity and understanding. They see the person behind the illnesses and go above and beyond to make sure he feels valued, supported and cared for.
The team don't just provide care - they create moments of happiness and connection. They organise singers, activities and special get-togethers with friends and family, helping Donald make precious memories and feel surrounded by love.
The staff are always willing to listen, offer advice and guide us through situations involving Donald. Their patience, knowledge and reassurance have been a huge support .
Every member of staff we have met has shown genuine warmth and dedication. It is clear that caring for residents is more than just a job to them - it comes from the heart.

Thank you to you all.

Review of Ellerslie Court from J K (Friend of Resident) published on 3 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have noticed a considerable difference in the care provided to service user, the morale of staff, the teamwork and the overall running of the home. They have recently come under new management which has made such a difference to the care delivered. My friends individual needs are considered, everyone within the home is happy and it feels like a different environment compared to 6 months ago. The new manager is on the ball with everything and raises any concerns immediately to us. I hope this continues and would like to say thankyou to the team for caring so dearly for my friend and everyone else in the home. It feels like such a warm atmosphere on walking in, nothing is too much to ask for, the presence of the home manager is more prominent which I think has been vital in the way the care is delivered and the way the home is now being run.

The standard of care at this home has improved significantly under the new management team. The staff demonstrate a truly person-centred approach, combining deep empathy with professional care. They have provided exceptional support to my daughter, adapting well to her individual needs. Following some previous challenges, it is a great relief to finally start feeling at ease, knowing she is safe, secure, and well supported. Thank you to the entire team for their dedication.

Review of Finch Manor from Carla F (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our dad came to Finch Manor from a hospital stay , we were concerned about the distance from our homes and previous reviews . We needn't have worried at all Finch Manor and its staff have become our extended family we have been welcomed with open arms and there is nothing they wouldn't do for dad or us , from reception to senior staff , cleaners, laundry staff , chefs and everyone else I've missed they truly go above and beyond for both residents and they're families . All of our worries have gone and we leave dad after visits knowing he will be cared for to the highest of standards ,, in fact dad looks at them as his family and is very happy there . Food is absolutely fabulous even on a special diet he is catered for with the most delicious meals and freshly made puddings all made on site ,, he has put on much needed weight since being here . Any health concerns or medical issues are dealt with straight away with nurses arriving the next day to see him .

I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mum receives on the Rose Unit at Finch Manor Care Home. From the moment she arrived, every single member of staff has gone above and beyond to look after her, treating her with such kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion. It is clear they truly care about every resident, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
A very special thank you must go to Ethan, who has been absolutely wonderful. Right from day one, he has made our whole family feel incredibly welcome, always taking the time to talk with us, answer every question we have, and reassure us that mum is in the very best hands. His patience, warmth, and professionalism have been such a comfort during what could have been a worrying time.

We feel completely confident and at peace knowing mum is cared for by such a brilliant team. Thank you all - you really do make such a difference.

Review of Marmaduke Street Care Home from Karen M (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our experience with this 'care' home, I use the word 'care' loosely as there is no care, my mum was in this place for 6 months, she was bed bound, unable to attend to her personal care and struggled with feeding herself. She was left for long periods of time on her own, as a result of this sustained pressure sores which became infected, although it was care planned for her to be turned every 2 hours this didn't happen, even when staff were prompted by family members. Trying to contact this place is a nightmare, nobody picks up, numerous times I would have to contact the EMI unit upstairs to then be transferred to the nurses office, poor in my opinion. Mums diet was poor, she deteriorated quickly over the months she was there, food was basically put in front of her and she was left to feed herself, bearing in mind she was unable to do this herself. I could go on and on but it won't bring my mum back, long story short avoid this place!

Review of Croxteth Park Care Home from G G (Son of Resident) published on 26 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

I can't speak highly enough of Croxteth Park Care Home. From the moment you walk in, its clear the staff truly care about residents. They look after my mum with genuine dignity, compassion and respect, which gives our family great peace of mind. The home itself is always well maintained and smells fresh on every visit, which makes a big difference. The food is excellent, with a varied and thoughtful menu that residents seem to enjoy. One of the stand out features is the activites team. They do a fantastic job keeping residents engaged and entertained, organising everything from in home activites to day out on the bus, trips to local park and visits to nearby shops. The management team are very approachable and supportive. Overall I'm incredibly grateful for the care my mum receives here and would highly recommend Croxteth Park Care Home.

Review of Finch Manor from Paula S (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mum has been at Lilly ward since mid-March this year, having been transferred there from hospital. I'll admit that I had some initial doubts after reading a few reviews, but I can honestly say I am so pleased that she is there. The staff are absolutely lovely and genuinely engaging with the residents. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and residents are encouraged to personalise their space with their own belongings. I am always kept fully up to date with Mum's medical care, which gives me great peace of mind. Mum has a curved spine, and Lindsey, the Senior Manager, went above and beyond by getting her a recliner chair so Mum could sit comfortably-something I truly appreciate. Although I initially wanted to move Mum closer to me as I live in North Wales, I now feel that the distance is worth it. Knowing she is safe, comfortable, and so well cared for makes all the difference. I am grateful to the team at Finch Manor for the kindness and care they have shown.

Review of Finch Manor from Catherine H (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 April 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident for about 4 years and I cannot think more highly of the staff and team members of Finch Manor. They really get to know and understand personally all their residents and ensure they are looked after. They have always been very good at keeping me informed about my mum as I live down in Dorset so I have always felt reassured that mum is safe and cared for at all times. Regular assessments have always been updated to match mum's changing health issues. Sadly my Mum passed away on 14th March but she was not alone and cared for till the end and that leaves me great comfort. Even now the staff are being so kind to me whilst I am organising everything...they are asking am I OK and here if you need anything and that's so generous and kind. It's very challenging at times to look after other people's loved ones but I will be forever grateful that my mum was there at Finch Manor...bless you all and thank you.

My Dad received excellent care at Bennett House during his final weeks. The staff are like one big family and look after the residents like they are one of their own. The home may not be new but it's clean. warm and cosy and we are so thankful he was offered a place there on Jasmine. Dad was always clean and shaved ( he hated stubble) and his dignity was maintained. Every single member of staff regardless of role always greeted us with a smile and hello and were always happy to answer our questions. My Mum was always kept fully informed of any changes. Thank you Lisa and team.
