Review of Bennett House from Rach B (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Bennet House is like visiting the family. The staff are friendly and welcoming, they know their visitors by name and check in on how they are too.
Mum has excellent care and always clean and presentable. They know her interests and her love for a cuppa.

I get regular updates and any issues are dealt with.

Review of Bennett House from Belinda A (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 April 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Dad received excellent care at Bennett House during his final weeks. The staff are like one big family and look after the residents like they are one of their own. The home may not be new but it's clean. warm and cosy and we are so thankful he was offered a place there on Jasmine. Dad was always clean and shaved ( he hated stubble) and his dignity was maintained. Every single member of staff regardless of role always greeted us with a smile and hello and were always happy to answer our questions. My Mum was always kept fully informed of any changes. Thank you Lisa and team.

Review of Bennett House from Trevor S (Husband of Resident) published on 31 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My wife was resident for 4 weeks for rehabilitation after hip fracture. My wife has mixed dementia. She was met by friendly staff and settled in. The staff were excellent everyone of them was patient, polite and caring through out her stay. She was fed properly and the food was very good, she put on weight during her stay. The home is single storey, quite old but very clean and tidy. No glitz or glamour but the staff care for the residents.

Review of Bennett House from T W (Niece of Resident) published on 30 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My auntie was well cared for here, staff were always kind and caring and in my opinion, went beyond expectations, even painting my aunt's nails which she absolutely loved.
She also loved her meals. There always seem to be plenty of hot drinks available. There was even a member of staff engaging residents in activities.
I was kept well informed of my aunt's care and the staff were also considerate to myself at a hard time.

I've never written a review before so you can tell I am pleased with the care that my aunt got.

Review of The Villa from Andrew E (Husband of Resident) published on 6 October 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My wife had the unfortunate experience of being sent to the place, I found it not a welcoming place to be as follows;
Upon entry there is no reception and the rooms are dingy and the carpets all look dirty and it smelt all the way down the corridors. The layout of the building is not suitable for this type of care.
No checks at mealtimes or if wife was taken out of the place, as my wife did not get evening meals as got back at 5pm and I had to ask certain staff several times to get her a drink.
The gardens are dismal as not able to walk around and the back area had a skip full of rubbish with black bin bags scattered around it and a pile of doors which obviously had been removed.
The TV lounge was not inviting as a big screen TV dominates the room and it smelt of smoke. The wife said she would not go in as several residents had smoked in there. And this is not long after there had been a fire at the place earlier in the year.

The CQC must walk around with Rose Tinted Glasses.

Review of The Villa from Moira E (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 22 September 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My sister-in-law received respite care at this home for two weeks and l have to say l was surprised as to how ‘basic’ it was, particularly after reading the information on their website.
I visited on two different occasions and the residents seemed to be either wandering around aimlessly or just sitting in the lounge watching a huge TV which completely overpowered the room. Where were any activities to stimulate the brain being carried out?
The grounds could be nice if they were well maintained and the garden furniture could definitely do with a lick of paint/varnish. Didn’t make us want to go out there.
I was also shocked to see my sister-in-law being offered sandwiches just wrapped in cling film and a slice of cake from a tray without a serviette underneath it - don’t they have any plates at this home?

I am at a loss how CQC rated it as good in May this year.

Review of Bennett House from Jeanette M (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 March 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The care here is exceptional. Mum loves living there and feels safe there. The carers go above and beyond looking after Mum. The meals are excellent and Mum is encouraged to eat well. When visits were allowed, they were well planned.

Review of Bennett House from Sharon W (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 July 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I would like to compliment all the staff at Bennett House for how they have handled the recent Coronavirus situation. During this stressful time I am grateful that the home locked down early and then communicated promptly with me due to testing and visiting. When my father was tested staff handled the situation sensitively and fortunately tests came back negative.
My father has dementia so it was important to keep in touch and this was done over the phone, although he was encouraged, and helped, to write me a letter and naturally I sent letters, photos and family news.
The home is caring, clean and communicates well with me. My father has been in the home over 18 months now and I am reassured that he safe, secure and well looked after. This gives me peace of mind.

Well done to everyone in coping so well in difficult times and when there have been so many additional challenges for care homes as outlined on the news.

Review of The Villa from L D (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 December 2019 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The Villa has been my dad's home for 1 year. I have looked after my dad many many years until he had a stroke and went into The Villa. He settled and has been looked after wonderfully. I myself visit daily and I class the staff and people who live there as my extended family. I only hope that when I need care I go to such a caring loving place. The manager shines in her job.
