A caring environment. Staff are brilliant and care about families. My husband was a resident for 12 months and end-of-life care was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff and manager were always caring and helpful.

Thank you so much for your kind words and review. The manager and staff are dedicated in providing the best care for each individual and their loved ones.

Thank you for your review. I will ensure that all the team at Brookfield are informed. They all work so hard and care so much, they will be over the moon.
The food is not nutritious, my father was offered a dried piece of quiche about an inch wide with beans. Residents not treated with dignity or respect. First floor has an awful odour. Staff clearly have no understanding of dementia. Would not recommend this home.

My nan has been a resident here for a few months now and she really enjoys being here. The activity coordinator is fantastic and there are always activities for the residents to do. Days out are organised regularly which my nan always enjoys. The staff are helpful and friendly and the room my nan is in is lovely. It's great that they keep us updated on what's been happening and there is always plenty of pictures and videos to watch which is lovely to see how happy and settled my nan is. A wonderful home.

I have nothing but admiration for the carers, and really don't know what we would have done without them.
My mum moved to Castle Dene in July 2018 as she had not settled well at another local residential care home. She settled at Castle Dene instantly, which as a family we found extremely reassuring.

As well as the more 'standard' stuff - good safety, robust care plans, home cooked food, well-trained staff etc, the team have really got to know Mum. There are many examples of this but here's a recent one: the staff know that Mum likes to wear costume jewellery, with her particular favourite being a 3 stringed pearl necklace. After this got broken recently I began looking for a replacement. In the meantime, a member of the team had taken the necklace home and re-strung the pearls as they knew they were important to her. So thoughtful.
We are so impressed with the management and staff's dedication and attention to detail. Castle Dene has a real 'homely' feel and all of the staff (carers, cooks, laundry assistants) are totally committed to the care and dignity of the residents.

My dad came to Brookfield in January 2018, initially for respite, after a fall which resulted in a broken hip and being wheelchair bound. Dad settled almost immediately and extended his stay which is now his permanent residence. This is all thanks to the dedication and care from all of the staff that work here. He can now walk again and is steadily gaining weight. We, as his family, are all made welcome too.
My mum stayed at Castle Dene Nov 16-June 18 when she sadly passed away. She was well looked after by caring staff and had good food. Laundry and cleaning staff are lovely and mum also had a close bond to a lovely senior carer.

I'd definitely recommend this home.
I'd definitely recommend this home.
A fabulously well run caring environment. The staff are just wonderful, nothing too much trouble or effort. Residents well fed with a varied diet and a great, fantastic array of dishes. My Dad said, "I didn't think a home would be like this". We are delighted.

Thank you for your comments, I will make sure the staff know how much they are valued and that your Dad is happy.
I consider Castle Dene an excellent care provider. The staff are friendly, helpful with nothing being too much trouble to them. They not only look after my Wife but extend their care and love to the whole family

My mother and I were looking for some respite care or my nana who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We both went to the care home to look around and the manager gave us a tour. The manager explained to us about the home and about the care and support that will be delivered. The information was...
The family and I were very reluctant to use a care home due to everything you see on the news and social media, however, my views have changed and would recommend anyone to go check this home out. Unfortunately, my nan had deteriorated and required nursing care which Brookfield did not cater for so we took Nan home to care for as a family.
The care, sensitivity, kindness and support provided to my mother and to the family...
The care, sensitivity, kindness and support provided to my mother and to the family was outstanding. My mother was in the best place we could have asked for. We could not have asked for better at such a sad time. This care home is an outstanding home and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you for such kind words, we are very proud of The White House as we are of all SSL Healthcare Homes. It is always good to receive reviews and have the knowledge that we care not only for the person but for their family too.
