Meadow Bank Care Home

I visited my Grandfather over the Christmas period, I live abroad and sadly don’t see him often enough, however, this does give me a clear view of his condition changes as my visits are 6 months apart. My last visit to see him was my first since he moved into Meadow Bank so it was with great joy that I could see how happy and responsive he was compared to the last care home he was in. If I was to put a scale of 1 to 10 on his mood and interaction between the first home and Meadow Bank he’s gone from a 2 to a 7/8. I also find the carers extremely friendly and warm. I’m really happy for my grandfather and I feel he’s also very happy.

My husband has been in the care of Meadowbank since September 2019. Myself and my family are very happy with the care he has been given. Any concerns are dealt with promptly and the food is excellent. Nowhere is like home, but he appears happy here and the staff are all caring, kind and answer any questions day or night. I feel happy myself that my husband is here - he loves the carers, thank you.

Excellent nursing home (Ribble House) with caring staff that cater for the individual needs of each person.

I moved my mother to Willow House at Meadow Bank in March this year. My mother is 95 and still active, she constantly tells me how kind and caring all the staff are and how safe she feels. My opinion of the home is one of praise for all the staff I have dealings with, they look after my mother very well and she is able to maintain her dignity and independence in a well-run environment.

The change in my Mum is remarkable. After years of being highly stressed, she has found peace. She is always clean, which never happens in past care homes. The staff at Meadow Bank all have big hearts and treat my mother with love and respect. I cannot praise everyone enough. So very grateful.

The staff are second to none and are there for anything you need. They are very supportive and the care given to my husband is wonderful. I would certainly be happy to discuss this with potential residents.

In my opinion, Meadow Bank Care Home is of good quality care overall. Room for improvement would be better if the food was of better quality.

I am now in there myself on a temporary basis and can confirm her opinions.

My father has settled in very well - lovely food - great food and on-going care is excellent.

I feel I can now relax a little knowing Dad is well cared for.

We as a family are really pleased with the care received by my mother. The facilities are great and the staff do a wonderful job which we appreciate more than they will ever know.

My review of Meadow Bank is mainly good. It is just lacking on the activities side. I just feel that the residents with dementia have nothing going on to try and stimulate them.

All areas including external paths, gardens and parking areas are well kept. We have had no reasons to complain and my wife appears relaxed in her surroundings.

Interaction with residents could be increased too.

I find Beech Hurst at Meadow Bank a wonderful, caring place. My only complaint is the TV on all day (no music) most residents can't see or hear it. Sometimes residents are moved without being told they are going to be moved. The atmosphere in Beech Hurst is relaxed and residents treated as individuals. Staff are caring and on the whole very professional.

However, I do feel that weak management lets the care home down in terms of poor cleanliness and lack of activities for the residents.

Brother-in-law rather reluctant to spend his last days in a care home. It appeared that he quickly settled in and he was happy. I was delighted with the care and attention he received and could not fault the staff. His care was dignified and we as visitors were treated with respect. Well done staff in Ribble unit.

My mum was transferred to Meadow Bank in September 2017 from another nursing home. She is looked after well, her room is clean and bright and the food is good. Mum has settled in well and is quite happy.

I was made comfortable from the first day.

My father was a resident in Beech House at Meadowbank for 4 and a half years. At all times, he was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff who grew to love him for his personality. Usually smiling, laughing, facial expressions and winked and blinked at the female staff. His wishes were respected, as were mine, and nothing was too much trouble.

This clothing was carefully washed and ironed and kept in good condition at all times. The housekeeping staff kept the unit clean and tidy at all times when his condition deteriorated and he subsequently died. He had the wonderful care which could not be faulted, he died peacefully and with dignity in my arms with my husband and nurses supporting us. They were just wonderful.
