Overall Experience
My mum was in this carehome for over 3 yrs till she passed away , she had excellent care right up to her death , the staff really looked after her like she was their mum , they showed her patience , kindness , support and love . I can not thank them enough for the care my mum received and I still go about once a month with chocolates & biscuits for the staff to share because I want them to know how much I appreciate how they cared for my mum :)

I highly recommend this carehome to anyone concerned about welfare for their elderly relatives .

We go on a regular basis, once a month. They do not know when we will turn up, but we always get a friendly greeting. The home is always clean and tidy with no smells. I find the staff very caring and encouraging. Annette, the manager, keeps us informed as we act as next of kin and is never too busy to listen if we have any concerns. It is certainly the best place for my sister in law.

On arrival were greeted like old friends. E was having her hair done by the hairdresser. When she had finished, she was brought into the main lounge and helped to find a seat where both my wife and I could also sit around her. It is noticeable that the staff are always around, and in the main lounge, I feel that the care the residents receive is excellent. If it has a fault, it does not look like a first-class hotel, which some care homes try to achieve.

I secured a move for my mum to Willowbank after her spending over 6 months in her previous home. What a difference and what an amazing place! The staff can't do enough to help mum, but seeing them interact with the other residents is a joy to watch. On her second day, she was up and dressed to join other residents in the dining room after being bedbound for the previous 6 months. She improved physically, mentally and emotionally in less than 2 weeks. I can't speak highly enough of the management and staff.

Since my mum became a resident of Willowbank 8 months ago, her general wellbeing has improved significantly. She has Alzheimers but has settled really well and appears happy. When I visit she always has a smile on her face and is well presented. Willowbank has a home atmosphere with cheerful staff who attend to her every need. They make me feel welcome when I visit and I come away knowing my um is being well looked after which gives me peace of mind. Thank you to management and staff of Willowbank.

Our mum has settled very well in Willow Bank, been here since February 2025, after her husband (our father) passed away.

All the staff are very caring and very professional, and mum always smiles at them, which shows how happy she is. She is very well cared for at all times. All staff and other residents have become like our family.

Mum came to Willowbank on 24th Feb 2025, and after being at home being looked after by carers, our dad and family, we have noticed mum is a lot happier and able to feed herself and enjoy socialising with the other residents. I have noticed from my first day in Willowbank how caring and kind the staff are. It's like one big happy family. I have just one concern that the new GP has stopped giving mum her B12 and I have asked the care home to chase this up please.

Reply from Annette Pownall, Senior Registered Manager at Willowbank Care Home

Thank you for your response, I am glad that your mum is happy at Willowbank. Responding to your comment re GP, it took a while for them to get back to us after several messages sent. This is now rectified. Should you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate in letting me know :)

Mum arrived at Willowbank in December 2024. She was greeted by the staff on duty all stood together to welcome her. She settled in from day one and is very happy living at Willowbank. The staff are very caring and friendly when we visit once a week. Mum is always cared for with dignity and has lovely meals prepared in the house. The home is spotless and Mum's bedroom is lovely. Thank you, Willowbank, for looking after mum.
