I am very happy with the care my Dad receives at Willowbank. Recently my Dad suffered a fall and the care and compassion he received was very heartwarming. The rest home manager even came to the hospital to take over from me as I had been there overnight and Dad cannot be left due to his Dementia. I
could then rest knowing Dad was in safe hands for a few hours. I would certainly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a lovely friendly home for their loved one.

My mother moved into Willowbank in April. She was welcomed by everyone, staff and residents. Her life has now changed for the better. From feeling lost, lonely, losing weight, crying and calling for help in a previous home, within three weeks at Willowbank she is settling very well. She's gained much-needed
weight, eats and sleeps well, engages with staff and residents and is 100% happier and calm. I cannot praise management and staff enough.
Reply from Annette Pownall, Registered Manager at Willowbank Care HomeIt has been an absolute pleasure caring for your mum. Seeing the improvement in her well-being has been inspirational. Nice to see her more settled and relaxed, and socialising with others of similar liking.
Belinda, your mum has done an amazing job raising you; you are so passionate about your mum, knowing her inside and out, and not giving up on finding the best for her. I raise a glass to you.

I visit the home regularly as my wife is in the home and is always in a very clean bed. I have never found her in any way but clean and well cared for. The home and staff are the top five in all things.

I am so pleased we chose Willowbank for care. I have been amazed at how my relative has thrived in the home, especially during the pandemic. During this time carers have given close care and attention, often chatting and singing with my relative in her room. They take time to keep us connected, read
my letters and facilitate calls when I can't visit - could not be better.

My mum recently became a Willowbank resident. In this worrying time of Covid it was as smooth a move I could have wished for. Mum has settled in well, is very well looked after and totally happy with all the care provided.
Reply from Annette Pownall, Registered Manager at Willowbank Care HomeI have never known anyone to come into a home for the first time and settle so quickly. Her coat was taken off and she was straight down to introduce herself to the other service users before I even had the chance to. Pulled up a chair, chatted away, it was like she had been here a good while. I am so glad that someone like your mum has settled so quickly as everyone thought she would be demanding to go home, this hasn't happened once. I love happy stories like this, Thank you for your lovely comment.

Willowbank provides a very warm, caring environment for people who can no longer live in their own homes. The care is kind and thoughtful, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. They are warm yet professional when dealing with residents. Food and drink is plentiful and always looks appetizing.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.747)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.747) out of 10 for Willowbank Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.747 for Willowbank Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (72 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 391 Ratings = 4.747
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willowbank Care Home is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 19 registered maximum number of service users is 3.8, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
