I am very happy to leave my husband in Brookfield Care Home. He is so very well looked after and the food is exceptionally good. The carers seem to anticipate the resident's needs and show great patience and care to everyone. I would recommend this care home to all my friends.

Brookfield was my mum's home for 4 years until we lost her in January.
I want to thank all the staff for ensuring her 'home' happiness and care in that time. Looking after her, looked after us and enabled the best for us all when times become difficult.
She was well looked after, with genuine love
and knowledge, contented and occupied.
We were always welcomed and involved.
It is a beautiful home, but the overriding difference is the staff. Always the same faces, who truly know everyone. Not bank staff. Very special.
Thank you.

I would just like to say I highly recommend this care home. My mum goes in while my sister goes on holiday to recharge her batteries, and I can honestly say the staff at this home are all lovely and love their jobs and look after my mum as if she was a permanent resident. All in all, 5-star accommodation.

Have been so lucky to find this care home for my respite care after having a hip replacement. It is near my daughter who lives in Warrington so easy for her to see me. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. They do work so hard and treat those with memory problems with such respect.
Just one suggestion a larger dishwasher when they serve meals so staff can focus on patients, not pots!

Since my Mum moved into Brookfield Care Home in April I have been so impressed with the care she is receiving. The carers are lovely. Always friendly and welcoming. Mum has settled in really well and I feel a great weight has been lifted from me when I see how well she is cared for. Lots of effort was
put into entertaining the residents and keeping them engaged in activities. Thank you to all at Brookfield.

Mother has settled in since her last evaluation. She seems at peace and that is due to the stability of her care and the extra attention that the staff can give. She seems content and secure. It is gratifying to know she is in good care when you are not with her. Long may this last whilst her health
remains.

My mother has been 3 times in the home for respite stays. She enjoys herself and all the staff are caring, helpful and sympathetic. The home is clean, tidy and airy. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. There is a good choice of activities. As my mother told them when she left, it is 'home from
home'. Thank you.

My mother has been at the home for approximately 18 months and has had excellent care. Staff are helpful and friendly and look after all her medical needs. Prior to going into care, she had a series of falls. Since going in, she has had only one, which was addressed and her health seems to be improving
every time I visit.

Brookfield is a very welcoming environment. Staff work very hard to give the residents a caring environment, choice of activities and regular activities and regular events. Exceptional meal choices, high standard of food - very person-centred - always very clean and tidy - fresh flowers each week -
myself and all my family have been welcomed on each visit - appears to be very original - staff go out of their way to be of assistance to residents and visitors - very approachable.

The staff are friendly and caring meeting all the needs of the residents. The building is accommodating and although there is a need for refurbishment, this is being addressed. There are daily activities for residents and lots of things to keep their minds active. It is like home from home giving peace

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.767)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.767) out of 10 for Barchester Brookfield Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.992 for Barchester Brookfield Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (122 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 123 Ratings = 4.992
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Brookfield Care Home is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
