The staff are fantastic, really patient and caring. My parents are very well looked after - they are always in good health and kept engaged and active and the families are also really well catered for. Couldn't be happier. with the standard of care.

Mum recently moved to Keate House Residential Home due to the vulnerabilities related to Alzheimer's. From the beginning of the process, all of the staff have been kind, understanding and helpful. Considering the pressures of their work they are always pleasant and seem happy in their work which must reflect on the care for their residents. Mum has settled well and is enjoying the company and the activities, food and being looked after 24/7.

Thank you Keate House. You're all amazing!

Keate House is a wonderful care home. All of the team are friendly and caring. You can drop in at any time, and it is always spotlessly clean and tidy.

They go the extra mile and are always arranging fun activities to keep the residents entertained. We take comfort in knowing that my dad is receiving the best care possible, thank you.

Mum has been a resident at Keate House for 5 years and I am extremely happy with the care she receives. As I live abroad, it is reassuring to know that she is being well cared for and living her best life. I really appreciate the video calls which are invaluable as they allow me to connect with Mum from a distance. I cannot say enough about the care staff, they are a wonderful caring team. Very impressed with the controls that were put in place during covid which I am sure contributed to keeping everyone safe. During a recent illness, all the staff were incredible with adapting to Mum's needs and helping with her recovery. The garden is a lovely surrounding for residents to sit outside on sunny days. Keate House goes above and beyond to schedule and arrange all the many interactive activities and special events. Kudos to everyone involved with Mum's care and a special shout out to two members of staff, in particular. I undoubtedly recommend Keate House.

Dad passed away in August 2021 after a short illness. He was so well cared for, loved and looked after by all the team at Keate House. Since his passing the house agreed that we could erect a pergola in the garden. It has now been built and is used by residents staff and visitors. It is a place for quiet contemplation and commemorates Dad's life and his time at Keate House. To officially “open” the pergola staff arranged a garden party with a singer. We had cake and non-alcoholic bubbles. It was enjoyed by everyone and a fitting tribute to Dad and all the staff who work tirelessly to give the residents the best possible experience. We are so grateful to them and thank them all for their kindness.

Overall Experience

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Keate House for nearly 5-years. During that time I can honestly say all the staff have been totally amazing at caring for her and all the other residents. During the first lockdown, some staff stayed at Keate House to give all the residents ongoing care, support and attention, which shows total dedication and selflessness. Due to being a full-time carer for my own parents, I’m not able to visit my mother-in-law but the staff arrange weekly video calls so we can regularly see our loved ones. Keate House newsletters keep us well informed on the constant activities arranged for all of their residents, with fabulous photos which we all treasure. I will happily give Keate House five stars. There isn’t one thing about their ongoing support for their residents that I could fault. Thank you to all the staff from the cleaners, cooks, gardeners, carers and management. You all do a totally amazing job.

Since our mother went into Keate House, suffering from severe dementia, she has been well cared for. There have been ups and downs due to her condition, but at all times the carers communicate with us to keep us well informed of her current mood and health needs. She is always glad to return to Keate House, after coming out for a visit.

Mum’s home has been Keate House since June 2019 in the Treasured Memory Centre. I feel very lucky that she is being cared for by such a wonderful, hard-working and dedicated staff.
In fact, the staff are amazing - kind, welcoming, respectful of resident and family, cheerful and full of fun. They meet Mum’s physical, mental and emotional needs with compassion and good humour and, overall, she is happy.
I am kept informed: weekly emails, monthly newsletters and weekly video calls which I greatly appreciate as I live abroad. These started during the pandemic and are indicative of how staff think of new ways to enrich the residents’ lives. The recent photo shoot for Mother’s Day is another example along with the myriad of different daily activities which Mum enjoys when she participates.

I recommend Keate House unreservedly: pleasant rooms and lounges, beautiful gardens, very good facilities and, most importantly, brilliant, thoughtful staff.

My mum has been a resident of Keate House for a month. She suffers with dementia and moving her to full time residential care was a difficult decision.

We need not have worried, she is so happy here. The staff are warm and friendly, her room is lovely. They gave regular feedback to put my mind at ease when Mum moved in. I’m really impressed with Keate House.

This is just the most amazing place.
My mum has been here for over 4 years. She will tell you she loves her home and the people who look after her (it’s one of the few things she does say).
Not only are all her day to day needs met every day (with staff going beyond all expectations in the pandemic), staff make it my mum’s home - family welcomed and informed, individual interests and preferences honoured.
Staff are caring, professional, flexible and fun. They are an established close team who, even in Covid19 restrictions, beautifully converted a summerhouse into a safe meeting area and did everything they could to facilitate chats on zoom etc.
They have just moved me to tears with a Mother’s Day photoshoot - all done with love and care and a lot of laughing.

Keate House is such a blessing to me and it brings me joy every day to see my mum so well looked after in every way.

Review from Ruth C (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 March 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My dad came into Keate House after a very stressful experience; his moving into the care home system during Covid was extremely distressing. I selected Keate House after reading reviews and their CQC report. It was the best decision I have made for my dad.

The amazing staff at Keate House have continually and consistently reassured me of this, by their care of my dad, their excellent communication and compassion. The attention to detail about my dad’s needs is outstanding and I feel that they have got to know him and his needs well. His care has been continuously positive and respectful.

The communication system is, again, outstanding and I have been notified of any issues, however small, immediately, with updates to follow. I have never felt like I’m wasting time when I ring to check how he is, the staff are warm and caring towards relatives too.

It is very well run, with an approachable and visible management team.

I would recommend Keate House without hesitation.
