Norwood Grange Care Home is always a pleasure to visit and help out. Such a friendly cosy carehome with lovely staff with lots of different activities going on, keeping the residents occupied and happy whist having fun. The manager always has time for a chat whilst always looking for ways to improve
the home (if that's possible). Anyone looking for a residential carehome, I can highly recommend Norwood Grange.

My Dad was in Norwood Grange initially for respite and settled straightaway. When full time care became required we were really happy that he was able to return there because of how great the team are. The management and all staff are very friendly, kind, helpful, approachable and provide amazing genuine
care to a high standard. There are lots of activities daily in a very nice environment. The premises are very clean and safe with a large spacious lounge, lots of natural light, dining area and garden for the residents to socialise together. Visiting is welcomed at anytime. Dad is really happy and comfortable. Thank you so much would highly recommend.

I cannot fault the care my relative has had. The staff are all friendly, caring and always on hand. From the carers, domestic staff to the management, they go the extra mile for their residents and their families. They show genuine care for the residents and always treat them with dignity and respect.
The activities always look fun and you can tell the residents enjoy themselves. The home has a very homely feel.

I can't speak highly enough of Norwood Grange and wouldn't want anyone else looking after my mum. It's so important to have trust with those looking after the most precious people in your life, and I trust the team at Norwood implicitly. They have treated mum with respect at all times and listened to
occasional improvement opportunities and feedback. The frontline staff are engaging, caring, talented and it's been great to get to know them over the months. The management team operates in a challenging environment where staff turnover can be an issue but do their best ensure staff development and provide a quality service. So, thank you to all those at Norwood for continuing to look after my mum and providing the highest lens of care that she deserves.

The care and support my dad has received at Norwood Grange has been outstanding. It was a very emotional experience deciding that a care home was the best place for my dad to live. We looked at 5 different homes. We were instantly put at ease by Nicola (the manager). She took time to really listen to
dads needs and preferences and answered all our questions. The home has a lovely feel to it. Staff are kind, warm and supportive. The food is wonderful. Me and dad's other relatives are so happy that we chose Norwood Grange. We would recommend Norwood Grange to anyone. Thank you so much.

My very good friend got a place at Norwood Grange just over a year ago and she has been well cared for being given dignity and friendship from the staff. The home is always spotless and the communal kitchen is kept clean and tidy. The design of the day room is sleek, practical and welcoming. It is a
good place for residents and their visitors to spend time together. It is always well staffed and recreational activities including music, games and therapies are plentiful. There is a communal kitchen which is a welcome facility for making drinks or snacks when visiting. Some rooms and the day room overlooks a charming garden. There is some delightful art work and we particularly like the living flame fire. The large television often has films playing which the residents can connect with. All the staff are charming and helpful to visitors. The care they give is exceptional and they understand the needs of the residents very well showing empathy and friendship.

Nicola has cared for my dad at Norwood Grange for two years, and she has been exceptional. As the manager, she creates a warm, supportive atmosphere, but it's her personal connection with my dad that truly stands out. He has Lewy body dementia and can be extremely difficult at times, yet Nicola always
approaches him with patience, understanding, and genuine kindness. She has a wonderful sense of humour that my dad responds to immediately, often lifting his mood even on challenging days. It's clear she sees who he is beyond his condition, and that means so much to us as a family. Knowing he is looked after by someone he trusts and enjoys being around brings immense peace of mind. Nicola is a credit to Norwood Grange, and we are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion she shows every day

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.913)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.913) out of 10 for Norwood Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.913 for Norwood Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (345 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 368 Ratings = 4.913
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Norwood Grange Care Home is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
