Summerfield is a homely & friendly care home, that is very clean, well maintained & caters for all dietary needs very well. Mum eats very small amounts but they always ensure that she has supplements to increase her calorie intake. We are very grateful to the whole Team for caring for Mum.

My only concern which has been expressed to the home is that more attention needs to be paid to hydration. I know from professional experience there is more they could to do ensure hydration.
Mum is very settled at Summerfield. She has been there 5 years now and Staff accomodate her needs well ,as her illness has unfortunately progressed. Staff are friendly and most of the time smiling when I call to see mum.

My my sister-in-law has been a resident at Summerfield for over 10 years. She is very well cared for there and I am always made to feel welcome whenever I phone or visit her. Staff understand her condition and react acccordingly.

I have not yet joined in with activities but I know there are plenty on offer and mum enjoys the exercise and music sessions and visits from local churches.

My mum settled in so quickly, joining in the activities and really flourished, back to her old self. We couldn't believe the difference in such a short time. After looking round quite a few homes we really did make the right decision and that's reinforced every day with the care that my mum receives. Our aim was to find somewhere my mum would be safe and happy, but we got far more than that. My very elderly mum-in-law suddenly found herself unable to cope at home and was sorely in need of more company and a warm safe place to meet her needs. Our research led us to Summerfield Residential Home, which fortunately had a room and even offered to come out and bring my mum in law from her home at very short notice. Once there, she settled in immediately and has had nothing but praise for the staff, the food and the level of care she is receiving. We fully expected the effect to wear off after a couple of weeks and that she would be asking to go home but that just hasn't happened, she loves the place. Having experienced three different care homes over the past five years, I am really impressed with the team at Summerfield, they obviously enjoy working there and it shows in the level of care and respect they show for their residents.
