Summerfield staff have always been welcoming and friendly, and have a wonderful relationship with my mum and with other residents. The staff are always doing some kind of entertainment and interacting with the residents.
I know my mum is happy and settled. The home is a nice, small home with gardens,
which my mum is able to walk around and be kept safe. It's lovely to walk into the home and be welcomed by the dog, Harper I think. Well done, staff; keep up the good work.

My mum has been a resident of Summerfield Residential Home since May 2019. She is very well looked after and seems happy there. She has a lovely room with an ensuite. All the staff are very kind and caring. There are activities on several days a week, such as singers, painting sessions and chair exercises.

Summerfield has been home for my mum for over three years now, and we are very happy with all it offers. Firstly the dedication, care and empathy of the staff shine through. The laughter, creativity and inclusion of everyone are evident the minute you walk through the door. They are equally welcoming
to us as relatives and go above and beyond to help us keep in contact at all times, even during Covid and the pressures that brought. The home always looks clean and tidy and is decorated with activities that the residents have made. They are one big happy family, and we know Mum is looked after and included.

From the moment my father became a resident in Summerfield, I have felt nothing but satisfaction as to the way the home runs. The staff are fantastic, all friendly and helpful in what must be a challenging job and with all the Covid restrictions, that are now, thankfully, coming to an end. The standards
kept by the home are exceptional, very clean and tidy. The residents all look happy and well looked after, and I have started visiting at different times of the day due to the nature of my father's condition, and the same standards are kept, no matter what time you visit. I have felt compassion from the staff, helping me deal with a very difficult time in my and my father's lives, and when I come away, I know Dad is in the best place he could be.

After experiencing everything a care home shouldn't be prior to finding Summerfield, we cannot express our delight enough for when we did. Nanny was welcomed with open arms, and every need was cared for. Nanny had multiple health issues that were due to a direct lack of care in her previous home. All
health issues were gone within four weeks of being at Summerfield. The staff are so welcoming when you visit, and visiting times are very flexible. Residents are entertained constantly, and they have access to lovely activities. The relief we felt as a family when Nanny moved into Summerfield is indescribable. We are so pleased we found somewhere where she thrives and is clearly so well looked after.

Summerfield looks after my mother brilliantly! Each resident is treated as an individual, and the staff know all their residents really well. Staff are consistent, and we have got to know them well. My husband and I would not have gotten through the last year and a half without the care, support and understanding of the care team at Summerfield.
My sister-in-law has dementia and needed moving from sheltered housing where she was unsafe and a danger to herself right in the middle of a lockdown.
It was a very worrying time, but the first time I picked up the phone when looking for somewhere that could cater for her needs, I felt this was the right place. Time was taken on the phone to listen to my questions, and all were answered fully.
She looks happier than she has looked for years. She must feel more secure. I know they will have their hands full with her, but everything is done with a smile on their faces. We have had peace of mind as she’s been safe, well-fed and looked after.
I have already told others what a wonderful care home this is as unfortunately, my lovely uncle has just had to be found a place.

My mum has lived at Summerfield since October 2015, and my father-in-law was also a resident between July 2017 and June 2020. The care, compassion and dignity provided to both are second to none. The staff are amazing, and the dedication shown through all the lockdowns and after is worth more than 5-stars!
My family would have been lost without Summerfield, and for me, Summerfield is family.

Summerfield have provided first-class care for my mum since she moved in two years ago. She suffered from advanced dementia, and she was challenging at times, but the staff provided the support she needed, and her family were given reassurance that the staff would rise to the challenges, which they
did. The staff are all very commented and caring, and they were like family to Mum. Nothing was too much trouble. Family were always welcomed. Management were approachable and provided good leadership of staff.

From the day Mum went into Summerfield, she could not have been better cared for and looked after. Summerfield was a second home to Mum; she settled in really well. She went in just before Christmas, and the staff made sure that she was able to take part in all of the Christmas celebrations. The end
of life care that Mum received at Summerfield could not be faulted, and we cannot thank them enough for the way they helped Mum pass peacefully.

We simply could not have gotten through these last 2-years without the care, support and understanding of the care team at Summerfield. It’s unbelievable to think that my mother-in-law has been a resident for over 2-years, and of that time, the first 10-months only have been without Covid restrictions.

The home is small and very friendly, enabling staff to give residents a good deal of attention.
The rooms and public spaces were very clean.
The standard of care and support provided was excellent.
Nothing was too much trouble, even when staff were extremely busy.
Residents were encouraged to participate
in as many activities as they could manage.
Food was good, wholesome and cooked on site.
Visiting arrangements were well managed taking into account full health and safety regulations.
The outside areas were adequate, and significant improvements are currently being undertaken to upgrade these areas.

As soon as I walked into Summerfield, it felt like home. No nasty smells! Staff friendly and approachable. They couldn't do enough for my mum. They understood her needs. She was there for over three and a half years. We were kept updated with changes to Coronavirus. They even had a pod later for us
to visit. Then when Mum was at end of life, I was allowed to visit following all safety precautions. It meant the world to me to spend time until the end with her. I couldn't have wished for more.

She was employed as a care assistant then was promoted to a senior several years ago.
For the past 12 month Chloe has been working several days a week along side the home director learning the ropes. She now works several days on the administration side of the business.
