Park Riding

They encouraged visitors to stay for as long as they liked and made them very welcome.

After five years in residence, sadly my mother passed away. During her final days, myself and all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren surrounded her with love, and the support from the staff was exemplary. I am eternally grateful.

As a family, we experienced a poor and then a "satisfactory" care home before discovering Park Riding. It is not smart or luxurious and its facilities and entertainments are limited, but of far greater importance is the attitude and ethos of management and staff. They care. We think it is no coincidence that the staff turnover seems to be very low. We have seen few new faces since my aunt went there first in 2010 and then my mother in 2012. Likewise, the residents seem to live to a ripe old age and all look extremely well looked after. Unlike in so many homes, you will not detect even the faintest suggestion of unpleasant aromas as you enter and neither will you need to search for staff. They are with the residents, caring for them, not forever outside on a "fag" break. My mother now refers to Park Riding as "home".

Park Riding make Christmas a very special time. Mum looked well and happy. The staff relate well to the residents and are always cheerful. A festive drink was available to all residents and their visitors. Arrangements are made, if possible, for family visits to be made in a quieter and more private area. Residents were involved in creating some of the decorations and the home looked very festive.

Fantastic care home. Great staff and always has a friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this home without a second's thought. A++ Staff. A++ Atmosphere. Always made to feel welcome and I am always left feeling my Grandmother is happy and treated with dignity. Top marks all around.

Park Riding has a friendly, homely feel about it and I would recommend it to anyone.

My mother has been a resident for over 8 years and the care she has received has given me peace of mind. Park Riding is small and homely, giving a feeling of security. Cleanliness is evident and meals are nutritious. The carers are superb as my mother's health has deteriorated. They have treated her with dignity and appealed to her humour, making her laugh and bringing a smile to her face.

My mother has been in this are home for a while now and is so well cared for by all the staff. The home is always clean and has fresh flowers out all the time. The food is delicious and I cannot rate this home high enough. It really is first class.

This is a wonderfully warm, friendly, happy, and supportive care home. My mother received a lovely welcome on arrival, and personal care and attention throughout her stay. We had looked at other, more expensive, homes in the local area before choosing Park Riding, but knew from our first visit that it would be a far better option and so it proved. Thank you to all the staff at Park Riding for making her last days so happy.

My mother spent the last six months of her life in Park Riding. She was very comfortable and extremely well-cared for. Even though she could be quite difficult at times, the staff were very patient and cheerful with her. When she returned to the home after a hospital stay following a severe stroke, the palliative care made her death very peaceful and I was made to feel welcome at all times by the wonderful team of carers.

I was so pleased that we managed to get our auntie into Park Riding. My mum had spent the last 8 months of her life there and we were highly satisfied with the care she received. The staff are so welcoming when we go and we have got to know them quite well. The home is clean also there are no urine smells. Auntie is always clean and tidy and she loves it when she has had her hair done by one of the staff. She likes her room and enjoys her food. The staff have taken some of them out and she has enjoyed that but can't always remember where she has been. We are so glad that she is in a good home for the last few years of her life.

My mother, a resident at Park Riding Care Home has now lived in this delightful home for just over a year and her move from independent living (in Bath) to this residence has been a success, thanks to the wonderful support of the entire care team at Park Riding. She thoroughly enjoys her new life at Park Riding and the help, care and professionalism of all the staff is highly appreciated by all my mother's family. We are more than confident with the support and attention she receives. A truly lovely home.

Staff members are kind and welcoming.

My grandmother is happy and secure despite having advanced dementia. Always spotlessly clean and staff members are lovely and kind.

The staff members at Park Riding do a brilliant job. My dad has had a stroke recently and they have made it possible for him to return to Park Riding with their help and care. I feel that he is safe and very well cared for!

My uncle has been at Park Riding for a few years now. He is 87. Recently he was hospitalised with Pancreatitis. We thought we would lose him but he got better and begged to be allowed to go back to Park Riding. He is so well looked after and cared for. He is not always the easiest as the frustrations of life in a care home weigh on him sometimes, lack of privacy etc, but the staff are good humoured and understand his needs. The manager is an outstanding women and I am sure is largely responsible for the good atmosphere at Park Riding. It is a small care home which can give individual service and I think my Uncle is very fortunate to have ended up there in his final years.

As I told recent inspectors I am very well looked after and very satisfied.

Mum has not been in very long, but so far we are more than pleased with everything about the care home. She also seems very settled.
