Both my parents are residents at Airedale Residential & Dementia Home. My standards are high and I've been impressed by the standards of care and staff commitment to their residents. The staff work very hard. The activities provided are fantastic. Any issues are promptly addressed by management who are friendly and approachable. Great role models for the care team. It's very reassuring and gives such peace of mind to know Mum and Dad are well cared for. Thank you.

My mum was in Airedale care home from October until her death in November this year.
She had dementia and never realised she was in a care home she always referred to staying in a big house with lovely pictures on the walls.

She was happy, never asking to go home. The staff were all lovely, always engaging with the residents. They had lots of patience for everyone.

My friend's dad has been here since the year 2022. I try to visit once a week and I have always found the staff pleasant and accommodating. If there has been an issue with him I have asked for help and it's been sorted. He has always been happy with his food and it's always looked appetising. There were times I felt the smell was a bit much but this has definitely improved.

Caring and compassionate staff. They have looked after my dad the best they can and always try and personalise his care needs. Dad usually looks healthy when I come to visit him; he stated that he is happy at Airedale, and there are some very good staff members on the team. I’m happy they have been taking him down to communal areas so they can monitor his fluid intake. Thank you, Airedale.

My dad has been a resident at Airedale since September, we have found the staff to be very helpful and caring with my dad's many needs. We're always made very welcome by the staff when we visit even though they are often stretched and over busy, more staff would be ideal.
A member of staff and her staff are always available to explain or help with any queries we have.

The location is lovely next to the park.

For those wishing to place a loved one in Airedale please be assured that for us it was a very simple but thorough process carried out in your own home at your convenience this process enabled the Home to be ready and aware of the needs upon arrival.
The staff are very courteous and always available for a chat both about the service user and yourself when visiting.

The only problem I had initially was knowing what I had to provide and what the home provided automatically but that is soon sorted when the service user is settled in. Overall a secure and friendly setup all gratitude to all the staff for the care being given. Thank you.

All staff are very welcoming when you arrive. They ask you if you would like a tea or coffee. When they get used to you you are just part of the family you could say. Different activities are arranged to keep residents occupied which is good. The care home is in a lovely position at the side of a park.

My mum has been a resident in Airedale Care Home, for nearly 2 years, the care and attention given to my mum is wonderful. All the staff from the management to the carers, kitchen staff, and the ladies who do the laundry, they are all kind and caring. Sadly because of the virus, I have not been able to visit mum until recently, but all last year the staff always had time to tell me how mum has been, they are very busy, but always kept me well informed. When I visit mum she always looks nice, wearing different clothes every day, the food is good, but if mum hasn't been well they will always make her something she fancies. A big thankyou to all the staff at Airedale, you all do a great job. Thanks again.

My Dad became a resident of Airedale in February 2020. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I have been unable to travel from my home in the Isle of Man to visit the UK. The staff have been wonderful in keeping me updated on how my Dad is doing when I ring the home. As my Dad isn’t great with the use of mobile phones, one of the care staff has been contacting me every week via video call with my Dad. This has been amazing to see and talk to him. I can’t put into words how grateful I am to her and all the staff for looking after my Dad and keeping him safe.

Not enough staff at all times, especially evenings and weekends.
Poor food - meat unable to cut, potatoes rock hard.
No consistency of care/contradictory instructions.
No activities.
Continual wait for things to be done.

The home looks tatty outside/could do with clearing up.

I am very pleased with my mum's care. She is well looked after and staff do their best to keep her safe. I think staff have been anxious over the last few months because of management changes and the uncertainty of new owners. Hopefully, things will settle down once the new owners take over. If I ever have any questions, issues there is always someone to listen and deal with them.

After some real problems earlier this year, I feel that care has improved after a care review. I do feel that frequent visits are important to maintain care standards and nip problems in the bud. Mum is happy here which is the main thing but standards of care do depend on which staff are on duty. Mum is warm, fed and generally clean and makes very few demands on staff. I think they have made a real effort to improve and hope it is maintained.

Staff have always come across as doing their very best for my mother and other residents in my opinion. Having been in here since approximately January 2016, I have no doubt we would have let her come here knowing now how she has been looked after since then.

Apart from one night-carer who was very unpleasant and, I gather, was dismissed, and one argument with the resident over a trivial matter with unnecessary insistence, the carers are willing and helpful. Sometimes their report writing can delay their coming to help. I gather the meals are rather variable in quality and quantity. The activities are improving with some preparation beforehand. There is some care taken to adjust to the personality of the resident and give encouragement and guidance.
