My mother became a resident at Airedale care home in February 2023.
During the time she has been residing at the care home there have been a number of improvements and the care and support provided by the staff is truly amazing.

For those wishing to place a loved one in Airedale please be assured that for us it was a very simple but thorough process carried out in your own home at your convenience this process enabled the Home to be ready and aware of the needs upon arrival.
The staff are very courteous and always available
for a chat both about the service user and yourself when visiting.
The only problem I had initially was knowing what I had to provide and what the home provided automatically but that is soon sorted when the service user is settled in. Overall a secure and friendly setup all gratitude to all the staff for the care being given. Thank you.

All staff are very welcoming when you arrive. They ask you if you would like a tea or coffee. When they get used to you you are just part of the family you could say. Different activities are arranged to keep residents occupied which is good. The care home is in a lovely position at the side of a park.

We would like to thank everybody at Airedale Care Home for their marvellous work Taking care of my mother for the past 3 years before she sadly left us. My mum has been a resident in Airedale Care Home, for nearly 2 years, the care and attention given to my mum is wonderful. All the staff from the management to the carers, kitchen staff, and the ladies who do the laundry, they are all kind and caring. Sadly because of the virus, I have not been able
to visit mum until recently, but all last year the staff always had time to tell me how mum has been, they are very busy, but always kept me well informed. When I visit mum she always looks nice, wearing different clothes every day, the food is good, but if mum hasn't been well they will always make her something she fancies. A big thankyou to all the staff at Airedale, you all do a great job. Thanks again.

My Dad became a resident of Airedale in February 2020. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I have been unable to travel from my home in the Isle of Man to visit the UK. The staff have been wonderful in keeping me updated on how my Dad is doing when I ring the home. As my Dad isn’t great with the use of
mobile phones, one of the care staff has been contacting me every week via video call with my Dad. This has been amazing to see and talk to him. I can’t put into words how grateful I am to her and all the staff for looking after my Dad and keeping him safe.

Not enough staff at all times, especially evenings and weekends.
Poor food - meat unable to cut, potatoes rock hard.
No consistency of care/contradictory instructions.
No activities.
Continual wait for things to be done.
The home looks tatty outside/could do with clearing up.

I am very happy with the care provided for my friend she is content and praises the staff for how kind they are and the care given to her.
When I visit all staff are friendly, helpful and interact well with residents. The home has a very good atmosphere and feels homely.

I am very pleased with my mum's care. She is well looked after and staff do their best to keep her safe. I think staff have been anxious over the last few months because of management changes and the uncertainty of new owners. Hopefully, things will settle down once the new owners take over. If I ever
have any questions, issues there is always someone to listen and deal with them.

After some real problems earlier this year, I feel that care has improved after a care review. I do feel that frequent visits are important to maintain care standards and nip problems in the bud. Mum is happy here which is the main thing but standards of care do depend on which staff are on duty. Mum
is warm, fed and generally clean and makes very few demands on staff. I think they have made a real effort to improve and hope it is maintained.

Staff have always come across as doing their very best for my mother and other residents in my opinion. Having been in here since approximately January 2016, I have no doubt we would have let her come here knowing now how she has been looked after since then.

Apart from one night-carer who was very unpleasant and, I gather, was dismissed, and one argument with the resident over a trivial matter with unnecessary insistence, the carers are willing and helpful. Sometimes their report writing can delay their coming to help. I gather the meals are rather variable
in quality and quantity. The activities are improving with some preparation beforehand. There is some care taken to adjust to the personality of the resident and give encouragement and guidance.

I find the care home with a good atmosphere, everyone seems very comfortable.


The carers are wonderful with the residents, very caring and professional.


The staff and management are very helpful. Any information I request is always given in an understanding way.

Hi, what's going on at this place?
New managers aloof and hasn't even met the residents yet after taking over.
I took my friend out last week and was not told his medication had been changed.
His head was nodding all the time which is not him at all.
Only found out this week that his pills had changed.
Should
have been warned (with his permission).
Staff leaving and happy to rely on agency staff running the place (managers view).
Previous experience with agency staff is very bad when another friend was in care.
No care skills. Do not or can not read notes and do not speak good (or any) English.

My mum has been a resident since December 2017. I am very happy with the home, it is clean, warm and the staff are wonderful, however, it is concerning quite a few have left in the last few months.
My only complaint is the food. Mum says it’s terrible, often cold and inedible.

I have been a resident for nearly 2 years and during that time the standard has slipped. This in no way reflects on the staff, who in some ways seem to be fighting a losing battle, sad to say, with the company who manage this home! The company seem to put their side instead of the staff.
