Anchor’s Simon Marks Court in Wortley is a home supporting older people to live a comfortable lifestyle and offers dementia care. The home continues to welcome new residents for permanent and respite care.

My uncle went for a week of respite care - he absolutely loved the staff and residents and all the wonderful things that they did. One lady has been so wonderful at organizing everything for him and paying such detailed attention to his needs and wants. I think he just loved that people were happy to

I couldn't have asked for a better place for my aunt. She lived at Simon Marks for nearly four years, and the care she received was excellent. She was treated with dignity at all times. A big thank you to each and every one of the staff.

Always greeted by friendly staff. The building is kept very clean and has a great atmosphere. The decor is excellent - very creative building a bar, wallpapering the walls to create a street image and outside house and salon. All management and staff are very helpful and committed to their jobs. My
sister-in-law has been helped a lot with her illness and anxiety, and also she has been encouraged to join in activities. I am impressed with the whole place.

My mum recently passed away, and I just wanted to thank the staff at Simon Marks Court for the care, love and dignity they have shown my mother during the past three years. They contacted me every time my mum had a fall or had an episode. Each member had the patience for my mum's toilet needs, which
were considerable. Plus, the lady doing the accounts was so friendly and knowledgeable about procedures; it made the process of dealing with the council and care packages so much easier. Thank you to all the care staff.

It is always evident when we watch the interaction between the staff members and my mum, that there is a warmth and connection between them. This is very reassuring as we can tell that she is well cared for and feels comfortable and secure.

My mum has been a resident at Simon Marks Court for about fifteen months. She is extremely well cared for and I have complete peace of mind. The staff are unfailingly friendly, efficient and thorough. They genuinely care for the residents and this attitude extends from the management down. My impression

Our Mum moved into Simon Marks Court over two years ago. I live a long distance away and cannot visit often, so it is such a comfort to know that Mum is safe and is living with people who know her well, who care about her and who are kind-hearted. This has been even more important in recent months.
The staff understand her ways and are endlessly patient - taking time to sit with her and to encourage her singing. I am always made very welcome when I do visit - and the staff are good at keeping in touch with the family by phone or email - so we always know what is going on with Mum. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Simon Marks Court is a friendly and caring place to live.

I cannot recommend highly enough the wonderful care my mother received during her stay at your home. My mum had every need taken care of and was treated with respect and dignity at all times. The communication between myself and my son from the staff was constant and totally reliable and I always knew
my mother was in the best of care.
Sadly my mother passed away on the 14th of May and during her final two weeks, I was always kept informed of any changes in her condition with kindness and consideration. My mum was 92 and sadly suffered from advanced dementia for the last 5 years and knowing she was in the safe and caring hands of all the staff at Simon Marks Court made things much easier for myself and my son to cope with her condition.

The home had a lovely homely feel to it and a really nice atmosphere. The staff were really kind, thoughtful and caring and they did everything they could to make my mum's stay as comfortable as possible. They also showed great kindness to my siblings and I during this very difficult and emotional time.
They went above and beyond what we expected from them. I would highly recommend this care home.

My mum has been in Simon Marks Court just over a year now I visit her regularly and find the staff who look after her very pleasant, always happy to help and go out of their way to make sure the residents are comfortable are happy. It is always clean and they have activities they get involved with with
the residents. They always contact me immediately if my mum is unwell or needs any hospital treatment.

Mum was reluctant to go into care, even though she was really struggling to live independently however after falling at home and unable to get up she realised that it would be for the best. When we walked in staff were great and made both of us tea and cakes. She has settled in really well, loves being
waited on at meal times and the entertainment. I can now sleep easy as I know she is safe and happy at Simon Marks Court. She also loves the hairdresser.

I was very worried about putting my dad into a care home. He has lived an independent life into his 90's but now needed extra support.
I was recommended Simon Marks Court by a friend. From the moment I visited Simon Marks, I knew dad would enjoy being there. The staff are very friendly and helpful
and work as a great team. I had no concerns what so ever. Dad really had a pleasant stay and even made a Christmas cake.

You could sense the care was going to be good the moment we stepped through the doors 3 years ago. The staff welcomed us really well, took dad's things off us and said now leave everything to us and made us a cup of tea. It was a really bad day raining, we were wet through, we had just left another
home and you could sense this is where he is going to live the rest of his life and he did and he was really happy and our family was.

Each one of the staff here were tremendous. They were always polite and courteous and we observed the time, care and patience they had with the residents.
The facilities here are brilliant, lounges and even a real-life street lining the corridors. A wide range of activities our aunt especially enjoyed
the wartime movies and music. Based in Scotland, there were times when I felt like I was being a pain and to a degree perhaps I was, given I was never off the phone or email but in no way did any of the staff make me feel as though I was.
For reasons I am unable to explain here, the entire team went above and beyond in ensuring our aunt was not left without and perhaps in some instances, their true dedication to their work and compassion for their residents meant they went above and beyond. We have not only lost our aunt but at the same time, it does feel as though we have lost a fair few friends now that we no longer visit Simon Marks Court. Thank you all on behalf of the family and our aunt.
