Absolutely fantastic from the moment someone came to the hospital to access my grandad. He was treated as a family member and us coming to see him and were overwhelmed with support and care given. Couldn't thank everyone enough. The sad day he passed away, the staff helped us through with dignity towards
my grandad and will always appreciate what they all did for us.

Vicarage Court is a very pleasant building in a beautiful setting. The bedrooms are well designed with modern furniture and fittings to suit personal needs.
The caring staff are there to attend residents needs and are well trained to do so. Nothing is too much trouble.
There are regular activities
organised for residents and families to attend.
The food is tasty and nutritious and well presented.

My father spent the last four years of his life at Vicarage Court. He frequently commented on the quality of care he received and had nothing but praise for the carers. He was made to feel very welcome and the staff went out of their way to make sure he was involved in many activities. I was pleased
and reassured that he was looked after so well.

Aunt love living at Vicarage Court, she had her independence, but also the security of knowing help was there if needed. She particularly loved her room overlooking the garden. Aunt also loved the social side of the home, she formed a close bond with the 'activity organiser' and was in her element when
singing and dancing. As Auntie did not move far from where she had lived most of her life she was able to maintain contact with the same doctor, the local church and her old neighbours. All these factors, as well as the support from her family, made her last three years very happy.

All the staff have been pleasant, helpful and caring. I felt it was safe to leave Mum here. It was good to see the Director walking around. The activities organiser is very passionate about her role - excellent activities. Nice room and lovely gardens. The home is very clean and well maintained. If
Mum needs permanent care in the future I would like to bring her here. However, the food would need to be far more nutritious. I do not feel that piling on the calories with chips, pies, fried foods etc is in the best interests of elderly people. Chicken nuggets are not a proper meal. Expected to see more meat, fish and potatoes/veg options to create a more balanced diet. I understand this is something you are looking to improve. Otherwise a very good facility.

Since day one in April 2018 there has always been a caring, smiling, helpful member of staff there to greet you.
My father always told me they're worth their weight in gold here and when I was down you knew there would be a smiley face waiting for you when you visited.
I could not thank them enough.

My mum went to Vicarage Court to receive end of life care. She was treated with compassion and dignity up to the very end. All staff are very caring and do their utmost for the residents.

Communication between shift change could be improved as I found myself repeating the same thing to 4 different

nurses, but whenever I asked for anything it was done immediately.

We are over the moon with all the care and help that my sister gets and how well she is looked after.
The activities are really good and a lot of thought and effort goes into this.
It's all the little things that matter and they all add up to making my sister's stay enjoyable.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.818) out of 10 for Vicarage Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.818 for Vicarage Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 269 Ratings = 4.818
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Vicarage Court Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
