In my first visit following the COVID crisis during which I have had weekly telephone contact re the well being of my friend who is a resident at Vicarage Court, the staff facilitated my visit today ensuring all hygiene and safety measures were taken. I found my friend happy and in good spirits and shouting excitably about how well she and all the residents have been looked after during lockdown. She reported to doing lots of activities and happy times whilst I haven't been able to see her. Thank you and well done.

This place was recommended to us by another family whose relative had stayed.

We have been very happy with everything and my mother has said that she has been really well looked after and all the staff are very helpful and always have a smile for you. Nothing is too much trouble. The food has been excellent.

Moved my mother from another care home. What a great improvement, better care, better staff, better experience all round. Nothing is too much trouble. Great atmosphere, not your usual care home expectation.

Since my father has been a resident at Vicarage Court I have noted a huge improvement to his mood and social interaction with others, he joins in with the activities where he can and there is something going on nearly every day. He has told me that he feels safe here, and all the staff treat him with dignity and respect. He likes that he has the choice to socialise with others when he wants, or he can have his own space in his room.

Absolutely fantastic from the moment someone came to the hospital to access my grandad. He was treated as a family member and us coming to see him and were overwhelmed with support and care given. Couldn't thank everyone enough. The sad day he passed away, the staff helped us through with dignity towards my grandad and will always appreciate what they all did for us.

Vicarage Court is a very pleasant building in a beautiful setting. The bedrooms are well designed with modern furniture and fittings to suit personal needs.
The caring staff are there to attend residents needs and are well trained to do so. Nothing is too much trouble.
There are regular activities organised for residents and families to attend.

The food is tasty and nutritious and well presented.

Earlier in life my mother-in-law expressed a desire not to go in a care home. We use Vicarage Court for respite care and she loves it.

My father spent the last four years of his life at Vicarage Court. He frequently commented on the quality of care he received and had nothing but praise for the carers. He was made to feel very welcome and the staff went out of their way to make sure he was involved in many activities. I was pleased and reassured that he was looked after so well.

Overall Experience

Aunt love living at Vicarage Court, she had her independence, but also the security of knowing help was there if needed. She particularly loved her room overlooking the garden. Aunt also loved the social side of the home, she formed a close bond with the 'activity organiser' and was in her element when singing and dancing. As Auntie did not move far from where she had lived most of her life she was able to maintain contact with the same doctor, the local church and her old neighbours. All these factors, as well as the support from her family, made her last three years very happy.

Overall Experience

All the staff have been pleasant, helpful and caring. I felt it was safe to leave Mum here. It was good to see the Director walking around. The activities organiser is very passionate about her role - excellent activities. Nice room and lovely gardens. The home is very clean and well maintained. If Mum needs permanent care in the future I would like to bring her here. However, the food would need to be far more nutritious. I do not feel that piling on the calories with chips, pies, fried foods etc is in the best interests of elderly people. Chicken nuggets are not a proper meal. Expected to see more meat, fish and potatoes/veg options to create a more balanced diet. I understand this is something you are looking to improve. Otherwise a very good facility.

Since day one in April 2018 there has always been a caring, smiling, helpful member of staff there to greet you.
My father always told me they're worth their weight in gold here and when I was down you knew there would be a smiley face waiting for you when you visited.

I could not thank them enough.
