I go to White Rose Lodge Retirement Home for daycare one day a week and made to feel very welcome. 8:30 - 5:30, lovely breakfast, lunch, tea and mostly yummy cakes in the afternoon. I like the wifi so I can use my iPad.

At the back end of last year, I stayed for two weeks respite. I had a lovely

sea view room and nothing was too much trouble. The care home was refreshed and recuperated.

My mother was always adamant she would never consider 'a home'. However, having fractured her thigh bone this became inevitable for a month. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay and found the staff very pleasant. A major factor was the company (she had been lonely at home). The home is lovely! When the time
came to return home, she was quite upset at having to leave and shed a tear!

I would recommend to anyone although obviously, the pricing makes this home difficult for many.

I have been in many care homes through my work. I have never seen a home with staff who are always happy in their work. The staff go above and beyond to help their residents and residents families.
I have never seen staff without a smile and often laughing with residents on their own time. As a family,
we can't thank them enough for making our dad's last few months memorable.

At a difficult time, with both sons living at a great distance, Mother's situation needed a caring, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Among many options considered White Rose met all our criteria.
Their caring culture, infinite patience and smiling encouragement means so much to Mum and her family.
The
management has a gentle, friendly touch combined with a professional and disciplined regime.
It's hard to put ultimate gratitude into words but thank you!!

My husband, son and I visited my father at White Rose Lodge for the first time, last weekend. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Even our dogs were made welcome and someone brought a bowl of water for them without being asked. The care afforded to my father
was fantastic and we were very relieved to know that Dad was being looked after so well in such a kind environment.

THE STAFF ARE AMAZING!! Thank you all.

My father commented on his second or third day at White Rose Lodge how cheerful and helpful all the staff were. He had a very pleasant room with good facilities and a fine sea view and later in his stay he was able to sit in the garden just outside his door.
White Rose Lodge is well-managed and has
a good program of events and a good range of rooms.
After a hip replacement (at the age of 96) my father had all the care and support he needed to get him on his feet again.

Mum came for two weeks. Didn't want to leave and stayed for 3. Can't wait to come back.
All staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. Mum has improved 100% since arriving and loves all the activities. Being able to walk in the grounds, having medication on time, meals and support. She is a new woman.
Can't praise this home enough. Nothing is too much for any of the staff who give it 100%

Excellent facilities and care. Food varied - with a choice and adequate amounts. A variety of entertainment daily - in lounge and own TV in the bedroom when privacy is desired (warm, comfortable lounge and own room). Library with the advantage of books of various kinds and lots of care assisted/medical
attention.

I went in for one week respite, I have severe arthritis in both knees and my back but had difficulty getting out of the chair as in one knee the bones are all shattered. At home I have a recliner to help me, also my bed lifts up at the bottom which relaxes my spine so I went home with a terrible back
ache. But for the staff, you couldn't fault any of the or the service.

Five-star accommodation. Everyone is so helpful and friendly in an amazing location with a sea view and a door to the garden. I would like to become a resident and don't want to go home. I shall come on another respite stay.

I have treated it like a holiday, apart from the gin and tonic. Had a nice experience, could have done with some younger company apart from the carers.

We received a warm welcome on arrival. Dad was made to feel at ease and was really pleased with his sea view room. All the carers were very nice. Procedure was explained to us clearly and made it easier on us leaving dad somewhere strange. I would highly recommend White Rose Lodge to anyone :) Both
myself and my sister commented that it's a shame we don't live in Bridlington as it would be perfect for dad. We will be back.

I found everyone to be kind, good, natural and always willing to help. All the drawers were difficult to open and would be much better on runners.
Otherwise I had a very pleasant room. In the 2 weeks I was there, there was no salad eg. lettuce, tomatoes etc.

I can highly recommend White Rose Lodge to anyone in need of residential care. The building itself is situated nicely so that many of the residents rooms and the public areas have sea views and there is a well maintained garden area. All the residents rooms are en-suite and are kept clean and tidy.
Equally the lounges and the dining room are delightful. We have shared excellent meals with mum in the dining room! Of course, all of this is because of the excellent staff. The manager, reception staff. carers, dining room staff, cleaners all do a wonderful job! Mum already looks on many of them as friends. She has thoroughly enjoyed a range of activities provided. The family have no concerns about her being in White Rose Lodge. We have seen for ourselves how happy she is there. Many thanks to all the staff!

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.164)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.164) out of 10 for White Rose Lodge Retirement Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.775 for White Rose Lodge Retirement Home is calculated as follows: ( (56 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.775
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.389 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for White Rose Lodge Retirement Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.789
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
