My mother has been in the care of The Grove in Grimsby for the period of 1 year up to mother recently passing away due to dementia. I cannot thank the team, staff and management enough. Very supportive and caring, very professional on dealing with all aspects that occur and required dealing with in the last weeks of my mother's life. The palliative/end of life care was outstanding and I thank all concerned. I would recommend The Grove to family and friends as they made mother's last year of life a "happy one" being altogether rather than on her own.

My mother is very happy here and I feel she gets good care and help which is updated as her needs change. The activities are very good and will no doubt get better still with the appointment of a new activities coordinator. The staff treat the residents with compassion and dignity.

The staff are kind and caring. There is a welcoming atmosphere. My friend likes the food and drinks are always offered. Activities are provided five days a week. The setting is beautiful, next to a park.

In April of last year the costs rose and the reasons given were refurbishment of rooms. My mother's room has not been refurbished since she moved in eighteen months ago. I'm not sure how often the rooms are cleaned but I spotted a biro on the bathroom floor several weeks ago, close to the sliding doors and it was still there a few weeks later.

My partner seems to be at least reasonably contented with the overall attention which she receives. Her main observations are with the standard of the meals served. The 'activities' in the afternoon are beneficial.

The home is pleasantly situated in a quiet area of Waltham overlooking a park. The staff are always friendly and the management run the home in a professional and competent manner. Communication is good and any problems with family are notified to us immediately. There are activities daily so every day is different. There are many walks around the home and this enables you to take family out easily.

My mother has been resident for over three years. She feels safe and well cared for and I am confident in the staff who treat her with respect and kindness.

My mother's move to a care home was something I was very worried about. It was sad for me to see her loose her independence. It has however worked out better than I could have hoped thanks to the excellent staff and good management.

Mum has been at The Grove for over a year now. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I have never smelled urine etc as I have in other homes. It is a nice small, compact home. The grounds are lovely and for the residents to face the public park is lovely, to watch the general public weakling dog etc is nice.

The activities are wonderful. So many to choose from and they are regular and organised. A tribute to the hard work the activity organiser - she does a superb job. It is very difficult watching for my mum sink deep into dementia but The Grove home certainly have given my mum the quality of life she deserves. I would recommend The Grove to other for sure.

My father was a permanent resident until his failing health caused his death. During his time at The Grove he received excellent care and attention together with genuine compassion and friendship. Dad was always treated with the greatest respect and dignity. I felt no matter what time of the day his family called the care was 24/7 for him and us. I submitted a review after dads death to say what an excellent home The Grove was. I believe they are worthy of this update review due to the aftercare they have shown making me feel welcome on return visits, when I take Christmas cards in. Their care and memories of dad are always upheld. The warmth and welcome given to family on visits is excellent. The staff and service is excellent. I would highly recommend The Grove as an excellent care home.

My husband and I have just enjoyed a pre Christmas meal with my mum at The Grove. We were served by the care staff, greeted on arrival and seated in a beautifully decorated dining room. We were given an option of wine or a soft drink. We had previously chosen our meals. We had opted for prawn cocktail, which was served with a fresh crisp salad, followed by Beef in Guinness, dumpling, mashed potatoes, cabbage and carrots. The beef was beautifully tender and delicious, but the cabbage was over cooked For dessert my husband had pear and berry crumble and I had ice-cream with butterscotch sauce. The meal ended with tea or coffee with an after dinner mint. The whole meal was presented and delivered well by the attentive staff. The meal was followed by entertainment in the lounge.

My mum is lucky to have a very large room overlooking the entrance and small wooded area. She enjoys seeing people coming and going, and has the added advantage of being near to the lift and stairs, so there is not much goes on that she doesn't see and know about! Her transition into full time care was made easy by the staff and we have been made welcome at all times.

My mother has recently died, but was in The Grove Care Home for approx. 14 months. My mother had dementia and the care & attention of all the employees has been exemplary. I couldn't have wished for more love, attention & respect towards my mother. My mother's room had its own kitchen, bathroom and the main room was big enough for a bed, chairs, draw/cupboard space and tv. There was a large lounge downstairs for residents with TV and a quiet room. The home had activities for the residents and sometimes entertainment i.e. singer. At the end of her life, staff again were extremely helpful and kind to the family, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend The Grove.
