The Grove Care Home is a well-known and highly respected care home for older people set in peaceful surroundings in the pretty village of Waltham, just outside Grimsby.

With excellent staff and a homely environment, residents can enjoy the comforts of home whilst the having the assurance that the highly trained care team are on hand to help with any needs.

Residents enjoy spacious flats and rooms fitted to a high standard. They can personalise their flats with their own pictures and possessions. The Grove has been carefully thought out for all residents to maintain a high level of independence, from walk-in showers for ease of use, to kitchenettes in bedrooms to entertain families and friends privately.

The newly refurbished lounge and conservatory lead out onto a spacious patio enabling residents to relax and enjoy views of the country park. Residents can also now enjoy a pamper day in the newly added Elegance Hair Salon, or a hot drink in The Coffee Club Café. The home enjoys close ties with the local community and volunteers from the village often help out with events and activities enabling residents to maintain friendships, hobbies and interests. Residents enjoy a lively program of activities from gardening to crafts, painting and singing.

My Mother needed some short term respite care after a couple of falls at home to build up her health again and for us to have time to put in place some support for her to live at home safely. My mother thought her room was lovely and the location was fabulous with views of gardens and a park. The staff
were very caring, supportive and attentive to her needs. There were lots of activities available. She particularly praised the food, and the chef was really helpful in coaxing her to eat by making to order what she fancied a couple of times. Apparently, the roast beef was the best she had ever tasted. Everything was very clean and well maintained. In the times that I visited, I got a sense that this was a happy caring place to live.

Knowing Mum is in a caring and safe environment gives us peace of mind. To mum, within a couple of months of living at The Grove (2018), she felt it was not just a 'care home' but her home. Even before the Covid pandemic, the staff and residents had become her adopted family and friends and that gave
us great reassurance during this last year. We are so grateful to all the staff for all their hard work and extra duties during this last year, especially.

10 out of 10 for everything. Nothing is to much trouble for the entire team of staff. Even through these extreme times, we have full confidence and peace of mind in the care given to my mum. Telephone calls are catered for on a moments notice, and the hangouts video calls are a Godsend for Mum.

Both I and my family can not speak highly enough about the care and compassion The Grove gives to our Dad, he has always been a proud man and a rock to us, so to see him suffer from Parkinson's and dementia is heartbreaking. He is so cared for and looked after and still keeping his dignity is a testament

My dad is well cared for at The Grove. He is happy where he is; the staff always do their best. My only concern is the change of staffing can sometimes get confusing. The place is clean and in a lovely area.

All the staff are very caring and make the residents feel that it is their home. When families could not visit over Christmas, they ensured all residents participated in the celebrations and enjoyed themselves. Putting photos on social media regularly is a real bonus when we can’t be together with our

Cannot fault service at this home, particularly over the last 12-months. Staff and management have kept residents safe, and relatives fully informed of the well being of residents. The group management has invested in safe practices.

My mother was a resident at The Grove Care Home from the 10th December 2012 until unfortunately her death on the 26th May 2020, approx seven and a half years. During this time, she was visited by family very frequently, including myself. She always stated that everything about the staff and the home
was first class and could not be better. She always praised management, all senior and care staff, quality of food and activities stating she could not be happier. I, her son and family very strongly believe that The Grove should be given fist class top ratings. We had no concerns while she was in The Grove.

My mother has been a resident of The Grove for almost 4-years now, and in this time, I have seen many changes. The staff go above and beyond, and we particularly found that the night senior who has since left went above and beyond for my mum and always had time to speak to us, which I often miss as
staff are very busy, the night staff especially are always so busy to talk. One gentleman is a key asset, and my mum enjoys his company, and he’s always on hand to answer any questions we have. The food is better than it was, but still has room for improvement, but the activities have made a huge difference and it’s nice to see so many of the staff now getting involved, which they never did previously. I would have no hesitations in recommending The Grove to care for a loved one.

The service provided by the staff and management of The Grove has been exemplary, not just over the stated month of June this year but over the past twelve months and in particular, the period during 'lockdown' during the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff, including Nursing, Carers, receptionists and auxiliary
have proven their dedication to their profession, times over. Thank you all for your professionalism and caring, during this time especially. You are truly wonderful people.

My mother is a resident in The Grove and we as a family cannot fault the care of the whole team. They keep the residents' minds active with various activities which stimulate them and entertain. Throughout COVID lockdown staff have even done some hairdressing which was very well received.
If there
is a health problem it is attended to immediately and communicated to the family. The food is excellent (according to my mum) and the place is very clean and the staff so friendly.
I would not hesitate to recommend.

Cannot rate The Grove highly enough! After looking after and living with my Grandmother for the last 3 years it was a hard decision accepting respite and eventually longer term care, for now, however, The Grove completely put all my worries at ease. The staff are amazing and will go above and beyond.
They are so calm and understanding with their residents and always go the extra mile. The amount of activities that are put on is an added bonus, and the facilities are lovely! The bedrooms are bright and personal effects are encouraged to be put up wherever they can. Whenever I speak to my Grandma she always raves about the food, especially the puddings and sweet treats they give out! It's an especially good place for sociable people who have the company of other residents (along with activities) all day in the lounge, but can pop back to their rooms for a bit of downtime whenever needed!
5* service 24 hours a day 7 days a week!

Having Mum go into residential care was one of the hardest things my sister and I have ever had to deal with.
The Grove has helped us every step of the way, we cannot believe how well mum is doing; she is thriving and happy.
The staff are so nice, friendly and professional.
This is mums home now,

My stepfather-in-law is so well cared for. He is settled and happy in his own way and is very well cared for. He enjoys the activities, especially the pantomime at Christmas time. He thoroughly enjoys his meals and his wife (my mother) has lunch with him once a week and the food looks and is delicious.

We looked round several homes before choosing The Grove. From the moment we first arrived we were greeted in a warm, caring, friendly way. Most importantly they spoke directly to mum and didn't ignore her in favour of my sister and I. Mum has Alzheimer's and is thriving at The Grove. She looks so well
now, clean and very well fed. The staff are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I am so pleased we found the perfect place for her and have no hesitation in highly recommending this care home.

In the year my father was resident here (untill his recent death) we were regular visitors, and always witnessed the care of my father by the staff to be friendly, respectful and cheerful, and they brought out his sense of humour. The home itself is spacious, bright and smelt pleasant, unlike several
other homes we looked round. All staff, from front of staff to laundry staff were very caring and the nursing care he received on last 2 weeks of life was exceptional. Activities were good too. As relatives we were also treated with kindness.
