Lovely staff, very helpful when entering so I was able to find my grandma on my first visit.
Also helpful when I asked if I could put the flowers I brought in her room.
Very clean bathrooms and lounges.
Grandma loves the stay, she has only been in a week for respite care after a medical emergency.
She has made the decision to stay in the home because she feels safe now rather than being alone at home.
She has told me about the wonderful activities like bingo and quizzes.

Beech House is an excellent house. Food is fantastic and wholesome and varied. The care staff are absolutely wonderful, nothing is to much trouble and they know their job.
The home itself is extremely clean and tidy, laundry service is brilliant. The bedrooms are very nice but you can mix in the lounges
and dining room with other residents. Visitors are made to feel welcome and nothing is to much trouble

Beech house care home have been absolutely incredible with the care they've shown my dad including the dignity and compassion shown to him and us in his final days.
We were able to spend a lot of time with him whilst also feeling very welcome.
All carers at beech house are wonderful, kind, caring
and professional.
My dad was as happy as he could be in his last days.
Carers have supported our family as well as my dad through everything.
I can't recall the name of everyone there unfortunately but I can recall that they are all angels.
The home is spotlessly clean, welcoming and fully equipped for everything residents could need. Rooms are all individual to each resident with their personal touches on the room. A real home from home.
I would recommend beech house to anyone, anytime.
Thankyou to you all

Our brother came into the care home for rehabilitation after a hip operation. He was in final stages of cancer, the staff understood his needs and looked after him with all his care needs taken into consideration. He celebrated his 70th birthday in the garden and passed his final hours there. All
the staff were truly amazing, so supportive and kind to my brother and us when we were visiting. Nothing seemed too much trouble and little acts of kindness were greatly appreciated - a huge thank you from all of us x

The staff are caring and conscientious. If a resident has any combination of disabilities together, like deafness and sight loss together with reducing skill with words, they are open to adapting their attitudes and processes as far as they can. They are happy to be supported by an attorney who they
acknowledge will know more about the resident than they do. We all know the present constraints of the health service but the friendliness, efficiency and welcome are still excellent. It is far beyond the worse performing homes, of which I have personal experience. We are very lucky to have Beech House Care Home in our small town. No one should worry about their relatives who have the chance to live here.

My mum feels that she is not happy having sandwiches every night, she would like a variety of different things, other than that I think you're doing a lovely job looking after my mum and reassuring her when she is down and upset.

Thank you for your comments about Beech House Care Home. We appreciate you taking the time to give feedback and letting us know how we are doing.
Dining is an important and enjoyable part of daily life in our home and we take great pride in providing delicious and nourishing meals for all our residents, so we are sorry to hear that your mum is not happy with our menu selection.
Our menus are created with feedback from residents and reflect their likes and dislikes. Residents have a food passport to capture any particular requirements or wishes in relation to food or the serving of meals and are able to select their meals the night before.
We kindly ask that you reach out to us directly at the home so we can discuss this further and work together to prepare meals to your mum’s liking. Thank you again, we look forward to hearing from you.

The carers are extremely helpful and caring. The food is good. I am not pressurised into doing anything I don't want to do, but I am encouraged to try to be more independent. My room is comfortable. I can enjoy a laugh with the staff. The rooms are well cleaned. The management is efficient and caring.
I am impressed that the drinks trolley comes around regularly and every night we get supper.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.781)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.781) out of 10 for Beech House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.881 for Beech House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 101 Ratings = 4.881
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beech House Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
