Cannot fault the carers, they are extremely friendly and approachable. Unfortunately, they are always pushed to the limit. They need more staff, they cannot be expected to be in two places at once. Some areas of the home need attention - the kitchen needs updating, the shower room needs attention and the hairdresser should not have to use this area.

The manager and carer have been fantastic with our mum since the death of our dad. We have been kept updated on all issues. Despite Mum wanting to go home, she looks happy most of the time and always say they are lovely. During visits, I have overheard one staff member be very short/sharp with another resident who is clearly asking the same question. Food and drink I can't comment on as I haven't seen in person due to the restrictions.

I have been in here for 7-weeks; I could not have had better care anywhere else. I am a coeliac - they are brilliant with all the food for me - not one mistake. All staff polite and very caring - not just to me, but to everyone, also a very happy atmosphere.

The people who work for us are our most valuable asset; this is certainly the case at Gresham Lodge and is reflected in the standards of care and services provided by the team to both residents and visitors to this home. My own stay at Gresham Lodge was as a result of having to be non-weight bearing for eight weeks following surgery to reconstruct my foot/ankle. At the time, I dearly wanted to be in my own home, however, this was not an option, and the staff helped me to adapt in a positive way to my new situation. Once my plaster cast has been removed, I will be embarking on the final stage of my road to recovery by spending some time at a rehabilitation facility. Part of me will be sad to leave Gresham Lodge. The staff work so well as a team that it would be unfair, and impossible, to single out any individuals as exceptional. They have helped me by encouraging me to embrace changes to my situation; they are now my friends, and I will never forget them and what they did for me.

Overall I am very satisfied with the quality of care given by all the staff. Residents individual needs are met and time permitting they are all treated with dignity, respect and most importantly care. I am aware that time doesn't always allow for activities, and some residents won't or can't participate. More stimulating activities should be provided.

On having approached Gresham Lodge in Dec 2018 with a view to finding a place for my sister, we were treated with sympathy for my sister and ourselves. So when we had to find a home for her, Gresham Lodge was our first choice. She has been given all the care and comfort I have wished for her for the last three years. It has meant a lot to me as I am now her sister again not her carer and is a pleasure going to see her and having a chat to all the staff who are very welcoming and interested in my sisters family.

My Nanna has been to this home twice now and I wouldn't have her anywhere else.
Firstly and most importantly the staff are nothing less than fantastic in fact they're like family. Nothing is too much. They do my Nanna's nails, rub cream on her legs and when they can just sit with her and talk this makes her feel good.

The food is all homemade and very nice and I'm a chef so I can honestly say that.

My mum has been in this care home since February. We decided on this one because out of all those we visited this was the friendliest and felt very homely. My mum has settled in very well from the start. The care staff including managers/owners are very friendly and amazing with my mum she loves them. Its very clean and the meals are both varied and tasty having had a few meals there myself with mum. They have various activities and events going on each month. Also, a hairdresser that goes weekly. Without a doubt, I would recommend this home to everyone

My journey within Marjara Care Group began when I joined the company as a 19-year-old care assistant while studying. From the very beginning, I developed a passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care and supporting older people to live fulfilling lives. Over the years, I progressed through a number of roles including Senior Carer, Clinical Lead and Registered Manager, gaining invaluable practical experience and developing my leadership skills at every stage.

To broaden my knowledge and experience, I took a career break from Marjara Care Group and joined another care provider as a Deputy Area Manager. This role gave me the opportunity to oversee multiple services, strengthen my operational management skills and gain valuable insight into different approaches to care governance and quality assurance. After this experience, I returned to Marjara Care Group as Operations Manager and Registered Manager, where I now oversee the organisation's three care homes.

I hold a Master's Degree in Psychology with Coaching and have completed a Level 7 qualification in Senior Leadership and Management. I strongly believe that effective leadership is about supporting people, developing teams and creating a positive culture where residents receive the highest possible standard of care.

Today, I work closely with each Home Manager and Head Senior across our three locations to ensure our homes continue to provide safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led services. I am passionate about continuous improvement, staff development and creating environments where both residents and colleagues can thrive.

Outside of work, I am a proud wife and mother of two sons. My family is incredibly important to me and helps to remind me every day of the value of compassion, respect and treating every resident as I would want my own loved ones to be treated.

My journey at Gresham Lodge Care Home began in 2019 when I joined the team as a Care Assistant. From my very first day, I discovered a genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and making a positive difference to the lives of older people. Throughout my career at Gresham Lodge, I have worked hard to develop my knowledge and skills, progressing through a number of roles before becoming Home Manager. Each position has provided invaluable experience and helped shape the leader I am today.

Alongside my career, I have remained committed to my professional development. I have achieved my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, completed my BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care, and have continued my academic journey by studying for a Master's Degree (Level 7) in Healthcare Leadership and Management. Combining academic learning with hands-on experience has enabled me to develop a strong understanding of effective leadership, quality assurance, and person-centred care.

As Home Manager, I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, respected and truly at home. I believe that outstanding care starts with a supportive and motivated team, and I strive to lead by example, encouraging continuous learning, kindness and professionalism throughout the home. My goal is to ensure that every resident receives the highest standard of care while maintaining their dignity, independence and individuality.

I am committed to working closely with our residents, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals to continually improve the quality of our service and ensure Gresham Lodge remains a place where people are proud to live and work.

Outside of work, I have been happily married for over ten years and am a proud mum to three wonderful children. My family is at the heart of everything I do, and they remind me every day of the importance of compassion, respect and treating every resident with the same care and kindness that I would want for my own loved ones.

Following the completion of my Master’s degree in 2023, I progressed into the role of HR Officer within a dementia nursing home in London. In this role, I gained valuable experience in managing HR operations within a regulated care environment, developing a clear understanding of compliance requirements and the importance of effective workforce management.

In 2026, I joined Marjara Care Group as an HR Officer, where I continue to build on my experience and contribute to the organisation. My role involves supporting recruitment, maintaining accurate staff documentation and ensuring compliance with CQC and Home Office requirements. Gemma KilmoreJob Title:Head Senior CarerJoined: 2022
I first joined the team 4 years ago, starting at Sycamore Lodge as a Senior Carer on the night shift. After a year there, I moved to Gresham Lodge as Night Senior and have since worked my way up to Head Senior on days.

I’ve been dedicated to the care sector since 2005, working across different care and nursing homes to support people with a wide range of disabilities. I hold NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care, and in 2019 I took the leap to go to university – completing Levels 4, 5 and 6, and graduating with my degree in Health and Social Care.

Outside of work, I’m a mum to two boys and have been with my partner for over 20 years. My family means everything to me, and I also love spending time socialising with friends when I can.
