My mother was at Norwood House and was very happy there. She enjoyed the attention she received from the carers who were always kind, caring and fun. Her birthday was a highlight when she had her hair and nails done, a lovely cake and treated like a queen, she loved it and it was wonderful to see her so happy. She enjoyed the live music singers when they were there as well as watching the staff and family dancing with residents. The atmosphere of Norwood is a very happy and caring one. Very professional staff and very well run by the hands on manager.

My grandmother moved to Norwood House Care Home after I had cared for her at home through her dementia journey. It was such a hard decision, but the staff at Norwood House helped make the transition gentler with their patience and kindness.
The home was always clean, and she enjoyed the good, well-cooked meals. The staff made a real effort to keep her feeling like herself, they painted her nails, did her hair, and encouraged her to join in activities whenever she could. She even went on a trip to the pantomime, which she loved.
The Christmas party, complete with singers and entertainment, was a highlight for her and for us as a family. Those moments meant so much, especially as her dementia progressed.

She sadly passed away at the home, but I take comfort in knowing she spent her final months surrounded by people who treated her with dignity, warmth, and genuine care. We're grateful for everything the team did for her and for us.

Norwood has always been a lovely place, but there was room for improvement and the recent changes by new management have really made a difference! It now truly feels like a home from home. The food is great, the activities are enjoyable and staff are so caring and attentive.

My Dad was discharged from hospital into Norwood House for respite care in autumn 2025 and ended up being a permanent resident until he sadly passed away in January 2026. The staff at Norwood have been incredible throughout, laughing and joking with Dad and taking him out, doing activities and generally making his last few months enjoyable while maintaining exemplary levels of care. Their compassion at the end was wonderful and made a difficult time for the family as easy as possible. A lovely setting and building and the food always smelled amazing when I was visiting! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a care home for a loved one, no better choice in the area.

I went to view this facility mid October
After a five minute introductory chat , I was given a tour of the facilities offered ,the bedrooms all had en-suite and were tastefully decorated with ample floor space
I found it very refreshing that residents have 3 different communal areas where they can could watch television, enjoy music or just relax in quiet contemplation .
The staff appeared to engaged positively with the residents
The following day the manager came to our home to introduce himself to our family member (who was reluctant to visit the nursing home )
This proved to be a very positive and enjoyable experience. The manager listened carefully to any concerns and answered all questions with great consideration for our family members physical and mental needs.
The dedication and commitment shown by the manager, was outstanding and a credit to Norwood House facility

This meeting was such a great success, that we are going to visit with our family member tomorrow .

My own personal experience is that my father has been treated with the upmost care and respect by all the staff. Due to his current dementia I feel they now know him more than myself which after I have been his sole carer for five years was a challenge for me. To address the food, bearing in mind dietary requirements I have witnessed meals that I would be pleased to eat that are of a consistent standard. The standards of hygiene I have never questioned there is no smell and yes windows are open but it has never been cold. All interaction with residents baths etc is recorded. Most importantly there is an open door policy of communication.

I can't recommend this care home enough. Always a very personable, friendly environment - the staff always go above and beyond and see that my mother-in-law is always happy and comfortable. It really is like a home from home. A big thank you to all the staff!

This is one of the worst care homes I've had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting. The staff was very ignorant and the level of care was shocking. My aunt stayed there and they did things like put her false teeth on a dirty cloth and put them straight back into her mouth and did not clean them even after being told this is unacceptable, yet they did this again and again. The food was disgusting and not fit for purpose. We know people who actually worked there and they bought the cheapest of the cheap to feed to the residents. No heating in the bathrooms and gave her strip washes in a freezing bathroom with the windows open and totally ignored our requests for things to be done. The staff just did the bare minimum they could and just did not care. All the things they list on the site they do not have but are still listed on the site. If you care about your loved ones do not put them in this care home as all they want is the money and do not care in the slightest.

Mum has been in Norwood House since the end of October 2019. We couldn't have chosen a better care home for her. All the staff are fantastic and do a great job. No matter how busy they are, they make time for everyone, the residents and their families. Our family has a great deal of respect and admiration for everyone working at Norwood House.

The staff here are all very caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them. My mum needs a lot of care as she is bedridden and gets in a lot of pain frequently, but if she presses her call button, they come to her as quick as possible and get her the pain relief she needs. I would recommend Norwood House as the best home in the area to come into, everyone is treated with respect, resident and relatives.

The staff at Norwood House are wonderful, always cheerful and positive. The house has a very homely feel - residents can have a cup of tea and a snack when they want and the dining area is set up like a cafe. My sister and I both leave overseas, so knowing that mum is safe and cared for is really important. The staff are like family for her and they keep always us up-to-date on how our mum's going. Thank you everyone at Norwood House!
