My mother was a resident at Eagle View for just over 5 months. Mum had a massive stroke on Easter Monday whilst in Eagle View and died in Eagle View (as per her wishes), 6 days later. The care we received before, during and after her death was outstanding. They let us have use of a bed close by to Mum,
brought us snacks and drinks, and this made a lot of difference to us during this very difficult time. All of our needs were met with dignity and respect. All of the staff care deeply for their residents and their families.
Reply from Emine Tekis, Home Manager at Eagle View Care HomeWe are deeply sorry for your loss and honoured to have had the opportunity to care for your mum during her time at Eagle View.It means a great deal to our team to know that you felt supported and cared for during such a difficult time. Mum has been a resident at Eagle View since November. She has Alzheimer's and our ability to keep her safe and happy as her mental health declined had become challenging and distressing.
From our first enquiry we felt reassured that Eagle View could help us and now, having seen what they have done/are
constantly doing for Mum, we cannot praise enough the management and their team. Everyone is friendly and helpful and genuinely cares about mum's wellbeing. Her room is modern and clean and filled with her personal items. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this lovely care home!
Reply from Emine Tekis, Home Manager at Eagle View Care HomeThank you for your lovely feedback. It's always our goal to provide a safe, supportive, and loving environment for all of our residents, and knowing that your mum feels cared for and comfortable means everything to us. My father's first experience in a care home and although confused with dementia, he settled in very well. The management team and staff are brilliant and extremely professional, caring, helpful and friendly.
I'd been looking after him in his own home for the past two and a half years and it was a
great relief to me to feel I could leave him and know how well he was being looked after.

Our mother's 98th birthday celebrations were made really easy for our family and special for us all by the extra special care and consideration given by wonderful staff who once again went above and beyond what we could have asked for. We had only recently learned that relatives are welcome to join
their loved ones for a meal and we were delighted that the 6 of us adults would be welcomed for mums birthday dinner. The staff had put up lovely decorations to enhance the event and we sat as a family in the dining room on our own table, with other residents nearby. The meal was excellent and the wonderful chef had gone out of his way not only to provide one vegetarian meal but a fully gluten free sweet for us all which was delicious. We were welcomed to take a special birthday cake for mum and were pleased the other residents could share that with us. The price for the meal was very reasonable, and its presentation and taste excellent. Thank you so very much on behalf of us all.
Reply from Emine Tekis, Home Manager at Eagle View Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message. We're so happy you were able to enjoy the meal together and that the decorations, food, and the special birthday cake added to the celebration. It's always our goal to go above and beyond for our residents and their loved ones, and it means so much to hear that you felt that care on such an important occasion.Thank you again for your heartfelt feedback, and please know that it was a privilege to be part of such a meaningful celebration. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent care for your family.

I have been visiting my friend weekly for several years! I have no complaints at all about Eagle View. The staff are excellent and go out of their way to help. better than Eagle View. My friend is always clean, treated with respect, and most importantly with love!

I have worked in care for 30 years and never experienced care like it. Absolutely disgraceful. During the two years my father was a resident there, we identified neglect and abuse. A lot of agency workers did not know the residents and often just stood about. No activities, often music on and TV, which
I am sure would be confusing for the residents living with dementia.
The food was awful! On visiting one day my father was served very garlicky mashed potato and gravy. Often wearing clothes that weren't his. Thankfully my father has now moved to another home. Would not rate this home at all.
Reply from Jankee Patel, Estates Manager at Eagle View Care HomeThe home has recently been inspected by CQC and received a positive inspection in all areas that this review refers to, the home also identified that the resident required a more specialised environment and nursing care, which the home ensured happened for the best interests of the resident. Eagle View has a new management team in place, all aspects of the home have been reviewed. We are providing a good service with good outcomes for all service users, all have individual plans of care, the home only uses agency staff where all other avenues have been exhausted, and the home currently is fully staffed. We have evidenced good nutrition and have a full activities programme for the home and individual activities, where appropriate. We are fully involved with North Yorkshire contracting authority, all professionals, relatives, residents, and staff. We are sorry you felt this way about your experience and wish your father all the best in his new home.

1. No hot water, how can the care home or the residents be clean if there is no hot water. 2. The wrong sort of food, some food should've been prepared correctly, was not provided, so this made the resident unable to eat anything. She only had two small yoghurts on Christmas day, because they did not
provide a sensible or substantial lunch/dinner 3. Personal items used to go missing 4. Inadequate staff, half of the staff did not have proper qualifications or training required for this job, ignored residents and visitors needs, rude to visitors who are already distressed because of there family members state. 5. Alleged abuse to residents was ignored by care staff, and when the abuse was brought up they suggested the resident had done it to herself.
Reply from Jankee Patel, Head Office at Eagle View Care HomeWe are sorry to hear about your negative experience and take all feedback seriously. There has been an unsettled period due to management changes and we have worked closely with the North Yorkshire Quality team, all our staff, and residents have been supported through this. The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
