The best care home we have visited. Excellent staff, led by a young and dynamic management team. Mum is very well looked after by everyone. Her condition seems to be improving and is well loved and respected. The activities are perfect for her. Food is very good and nutritious with a choice of menu to suit all palates and dietary needs. Rooms and communal areas are always very clean. Neat and tidy. We are very pleased with everything and mum is happy and settled. Highly recommended.

I have worked in care for 30 years and never experienced care like it. Absolutely disgraceful. During the two years my father was a resident there, we identified neglect and abuse. A lot of agency workers did not know the residents and often just stood about. No activities, often music on and TV,...
The food was awful! On visiting one day my father was served very garlicky mashed potato and gravy. Often wearing clothes that weren't his. Thankfully my father has now moved to another home. Would not rate this home at all.

The home has recently been inspected by CQC and received a positive inspection in all areas that this review refers to, the home also identified that the resident required a more specialised environment and nursing care, which the home ensured happened for the best interests of the resident. Eagle View has a new management team in place, all aspects of the home have been reviewed. We are providing a good service with good outcomes for all service users, all have individual plans of care, the home only uses agency staff where all other avenues have been exhausted, and the home currently is fully staffed. We have evidenced good nutrition and have a full activities programme for the home and individual activities, where appropriate. We are fully involved with North Yorkshire contracting authority, all professionals, relatives, residents, and staff. We are sorry you felt this way about your experience and wish your father all the best in his new home.

My husband has been living in Eagle View for over a year. I found him going into a home very traumatic, but the staff have been amazing, he settled in very quickly. He feels safe and enjoys chatting with staff he is treated as an individual. The family are involved and made to feel welcome and involved with his care. Now Eagle View has more activities, it's better than ever. Our family are very happy with the care he receives.

She only had two small yoghurts on Christmas day, because they did not provide a sensible or substantial lunch/dinner 3. Personal items used to go missing 4. Inadequate staff, half of the staff did not have proper qualifications or training required for this job, ignored residents and visitors needs, rude to visitors who are already distressed because of there family members state. 5. Alleged abuse to residents was ignored by care staff, and when the abuse was brought up they suggested the resident had done it to herself.

All our staff have the appropriate training, supervision, and guidance. We have an estates team who ensures our facilities are of a high standard, and any allegations of abuse are taken seriously and reported to the correct regulatory authorities who we meet with regularly.

One of your older seniors shouts a lot at your residents, or sits on her mobile and ignores them. Management are never on the residents' floor. Activities are very minimal, especially for bedbound residents. Safety is very suspect. More time than not there is no hot water to wash your hands. How do residents manage?

We take all feedback very seriously. My apologies that your experience was not what you had hoped for. It can be very difficult when despite our 100% commitment, we don’t meet expectations. We appreciate that this may never be possible in certain circumstances, despite all efforts made, so we ensure that we continue to focus on providing an excellent service and continue to improve at every given opportunity. We feel in this circumstance all efforts were made by the home and external agencies to meet the expected standards, but we apologise you do not feel this was the case. We have a full activities team and programme in which all residents are invited to participate at their own choice, and 1-1 activities are provided as required. We have requested maintenance to look at the hot water comment as this is not something we have been aware of, however our water is temperature controlled so as not to burn. The care and well-being of our residents are always our principal priority.

My friend came to you on the 30th June 2017, for the simple reason she was very vocal at her last home and showed concerns for other residents. My friend settled very well at Eagle View and I also found the staff all very caring and did a brilliant job. Which as I say, made my friend settle very well. Sadly it was short lived and she passed away peacefully, again all the staff were amazing.
