Over all time The Millings has 100 reviews.
My mother has been a resident of The Millings since late June 2017. All the staff have made her very welcome and she has settled well. All her needs are catered for and they are very aware of all the residents. The activities are wide and varied which covers all the needs and are always taken with great enthusiasm. In fact, The Millings is like a country hotel for older people!
I cannot praise The Millings enough for their care and attention to detail for the care they show to the residents. The staff go above and beyond their duty of care as nothing is too much trouble. Whenever I visit I hear laughter and fun being the order of the day! I haven't sampled the food but I am informed that it is of the best quality, being like home cooking and very nicely presented. Overall a home from home which is all we could wish for.
My mother-in-law moved into The Millings in January 2015 following a dementia diagnosis and being able to cope living alone. The transition was very easy and she settled very quickly. All the staff are really caring and look after her so well. The food is great and all the social activities keep her busy and she enjoys. This has made the situation so easy for my husband to deal with.
Since my auntie moved to The Mullings, she is much happier and content, and each time I visit her I go home a happy person as I know she is well looked after and happy.
My 103-year-old mother has been a resident of The Millings for many years and has been very happy there. She feels that the staff are her friends and that The Millings is her home.
For almost three years The Millings has provided a comfortable, friendly home for my mother who had become unable to remain in her own home. Mum is assisted as necessary with needs and encouraged by the staff to remain as independent as possible, despite suffering debilitating sight loss and mobility issues. She enjoys the varied choice of appetising meals provided and importantly she takes these in the dining room with the company of other residents. There are many stimulating activities, outings to places of interest or visits by outside agencies to The Millings. Together with the "behind the scenes" network of staff employed at the home, this is a dynamic and forward thinking residence for those who live there and those who visit.
Caring and stimulating environment for all residents.
Friendly and caring environment. More like a hotel than a home for the elderly. Residents are treated by the staff as family at all times.
I would certainly recommend The Millings. I have been well looked after since I arrived in January. The staff are friendly, efficient and caring.
In addition to a full, voluntary, programme of regular activities there is an endless supply of 'one-off' events and outings - all suitable for the residents and organised to ensure maximum enjoyment and availability. All the staff are unstinting in their efforts of work with, listen to and respond to any requests from relatives.
This year as my mother in law's health failed and in the last two weeks of end-of-life care, the love and care given made a huge difference at a difficult time which allowed a good death.
This is a big change for my father in law and he could not be being treated any better.
Fantastic place, he would like more activities geared for men.
Thank you for your lovely feedback Keith and your great suggestion regarding activities geared for men. We always try to be fully inclusive with the activities organised by our three super Activity coordinators however, we appreciate that we now have a larger group of male residents than ever...
My mother-in-law went into The Millings nearly a month ago. The staff have been excellent throughout and made special efforts to ensure she settled in quickly. Some care homes fall short of acceptable standards and receive deserved bad press and hopefully appropriate sanction. The Millings is above the category and we wholeheartedly recommend them to look after loved ones who need a little help to enjoy their later years.
Lucky to have a nice place.
Brilliant!
A well run home providing activities and stimuli for residents. Friendly and helpful staff.
I have been very impressed by the friendliness and welcome provided. A great deal of time was dedicated to the initial assessment and then our preliminary visit. This was so important for us both and the emphasis was very much on the individual and their specific needs and requirements. The decor is very tasteful and the bedrooms and facilities are beautifully maintained. Lovely gardens for residents to use. I can vouch for the quality of the food as well. The residents I spoke to were very happy living in The Millings. To be recommended.
The food is beyond reproach and my father loves the variety and quality. A major secret to the success at the Millings is the excellent activity programme. They are committed to engaging all members of the home to enjoy some level of activity and interaction which is beneficial to their health and well-being. Thank you to all the staff and helpers.
Very caring staff. They try and fill your day with activities to occupy us. We have freedom of choice and don't feel regimental. I feel this is as good a home as we would get. Feels like home.
All I can say is that I am extremely comfortable here. The staff are very kind and I have lots of fun here.
The Millings provided me with excellent care when I needed it the most. Staff are very caring and the food and laundry all excellent. Cleanliness is first class. Activities were first class and stimulating. The staff are very friendly and happy in their work.
