The home hold no restrictions on visiting times, they do ask for protected meal times to allow the people they support to enjoy meals without unnecessary disturbances.

Ravensworth Lodge provided Mum genuine care, support and thoughtfulness. Staff worked as a team. This house is a home, not a business (a not for profit organisation = a world of difference!). Ravensworth Lodge doesn't try to emulate hotel type accommodation. It has character of its own and visitors
are welcome. Each room is homely, individualised and spotlessly clean. Staff take pride in their work and it shows. A varied daily timetable of activities, home cooked food and a "can do" attitude has been so refreshing and Mum has thrived in the care environment (after a lengthy hospital stay). Sadly Mum's dementia worsened quite rapidly after arriving at Ravensworth, so she was only there for 2 months, but they were happy ones which means a lot to us - we felt Mum was in safe hands and she was very sad to leave. As a retired nurse myself I'm delighted to recommend this home (no one has asked me to do this review either!) In my experience Ravensworth is a little gem.

Mum had been a resident at Ravensworth Lodge for 7 years before her death at 92 in Oct 2015. I cannot praise highly enough the quality of care and support she had during her time there but I feel that the care, support and compassion that the staff showed towards her in the final week of her life was
exceptional. Supported by the local Hospice at Home team, the staff were able to provide for Mum in her final few days, a level of care that showed they understood her needs, personality and wishes and Mum was allowed a very peaceful and dignified final week for which we, her family, will be always grateful as she was able to die at home and with the very best support she could have wished for. The staff also found time to support us, her family, and again, their compassion and understanding of what we were going through helped us cope with Mums death. I cannot praise them enough and over the very happy 7 years that Mum lived there, they provided the type of care and support that made her feel 'this is my home' and as her needs changed, so did the type of support she needed. We, her family, will always be grateful for the care and support and compassion that Mum was given whilst at Ravensworth Lodge throughout her time there. Thank you.
