Overall Experience
My mother became a resident at Philip Cussins House at the beginning of July. My Mum is blind and has early stages of dementia and is not very mobile.
From the first time we visited the home to look around, we realised that it had a whole different feel to it. The home is small with only around 20 residents and it very much has the feel of a private house. The staff have all been there for many years and are really committed to the home and to providing a high level of care. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and there is a lot going on every day.

The home is not smart but it is very clean and homely and the care is wonderful, we spoke with several residents who all praised the staff and the home. My Mum is settling in and is getting used to her new environment, it isn't easy but we feel we have good communication with the staff and they are doing everything they can to help my Mum. The staff are warm and compassionate but are also fun and they have a joke with the residents.

My two very dear lady friends are always clean and tidy, with clean clothes and good food and have hair set and nails painted and mostly have a carer when they call who comes within 5 minutes during daytime but much less at night.

My aunt has been here for nearly 9 years and is very content. She feels safe and secure in a home which treats her as a person and with dignity. Nothing is too much trouble.

A real home from home. The atmosphere is welcoming, plenty of activities for those who wish to partake and the care and carers are second to none and worth their weight in gold.

This home is lovely. The atmosphere friendly and extremely loving and caring. The home is spotlessly clean, never smells bad. The food is top rate served in a beautiful dining room. My Mum and all the residents are both physically and socially are met. Lots of activities and outings and birthday parties. Gorgeous staff - would highly recommend.

This is a small and very caring home. The people who run the activities are lovely and there is also a range of activities in nearby church halls. The staff know the residents well and are open and friendly. The care is of a high standard, my mother always comments on how good it is. The home really does welcome people of all faiths and none. The location is excellent it took us a while to choose a care home for my mother and I am so glad we decided on this one.
