Even though I felt very sad when I arrived here - everyone has made me feel so much better. I feel so much at home now. Very happy.

A very happy place and there is a feeling of being looked after with good food and if there is a problem it will be looked into which makes me happy. All the rooms are beautiful and kept so clean!

The staff in the home seem very caring and efficient. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. The home is warm and welcoming. The staff are also very pleasant and can be related to easily. They have dealt well with the Covid pandemic and have good safety procedures in place. Hopefully, they will plan for the end of restrictions. My mother seems very happy and is looked after well.

The staff are kind and thoughtful and meet one's every need. My room is crammed and I find it difficult to manoeuvre my trolley. Not having a big appetite, I find the frequent tea and coffee sessions superfluous but realise others may not feel the same way.

I never knew there was such a nice hotel next to me here in Gateshead. I would love to come back every year for the summer holidays. I was very surprised how quickly and efficiently I had my laundry taken care of within a couple of hours. I told all the staff this is a 5-star hotel!

We felt very safe and comforted knowing my brother was being so well looked after, after his surgery and we saw him improving day by day. We are very grateful to all the staff for taking such good care of him. Also, the staff was very accommodating to all his religious and orthodox standards over the Sabbath! We will always recommend this place to others!

Delighted we chose Philip Cussins House. They have worked so hard to keep everyone safe and happy. The staff and the residents are a real community. I would choose here for myself. What is different, is the quality of care and individual attention, and done with joy and fun. Excellent care, thank you.

I have a spacious and pleasant room and bathroom. The girls who look after me could not be more pleasant and helpful. Everything is kept very clean. We go on a trip once a week which is always welcome and there are exercises most days and bingo once a week. (I don't join in bingo) but others seem to enjoy it.

Two features of Philip Cussins House impressed me above all: The professional competence of the staff and the general atmosphere of warmth, friendliness, care, patience and sympathy. One feels immediately at home.

Delighted with the care and attention given to my husband. He went into Philip Cussins House as an emergency as I had to go into hospital suddenly. He was at once very happy, contented, very relaxed and well cared for and given much love by each member of staff.

I came to Philip Cussins House on emergency respite and in a bad way. Thanks to the care and support from everyone, I am a very different person. Encouragement is unlimited. If I had not come here I am not sure I would have survived my trauma. I still have some way to go but I have no doubt I will get there with their help as they have, and are, everything I so badly need.

Excellent care and attention from the whole team. Offering good facilities and varied activities. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff are attentive, caring and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble and we could not have asked for more support in helping mam to accept and settle into residential care.

It is a lovely home and very well managed. We have no hesitation is recommending it to others.

A couple of months ago when the previous manager was there, I would have advised everyone to avoid this home as it was horrible, miserable, dirty and the manager was the most unapproachable person I have ever come across.
Now, however, since the new manager and her deputy have been there, things have certainly changed for the best. The staff and residents are always smiling, they are happy, the home is much cleaner and the new manager and deputy are lovely. You can turn up unannounced and the office door is always open, (unlike when the previous manager was there) and they will always make time for you. You are always offered a drink and food, nothing is too much trouble for them and the rest of the staff now.

Very pleased with how they looked after my mother in law these last few months.
