Philip Cussins House in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is a care home that gives everyone the chance to have a relaxing and entertaining home.

Residents can enjoy days out to the coast, the theatre and can get involved in exchange visits to other care homes. They can do craft work or hear local school children chat and even sing to them.

The care home's chef prepares menus that are varied and delicious while also respecting individual dietary requirements.

Some residents, who are fit and well enough, choose to use the care home like a hotel and come and go as they please.

I could not be more impressed by absolutely everything to do with Philip Cussins House. The food is wonderful, my husband, who is a temporary resident now for about ten weeks, says this all the time. I am saying it too, as I have now had several lunches and snacks myself. The food is also very varied,
with a good choice and is very healthy and beautifully presented. All of the staff could not be more caring and helpful, to me as well as to my husband. He has a beautiful spacious room, which is very pleasantly decorated with a nice view from the window.

I was discharged to Philip Cussins House unable to walk until the fracture of my left hip mends. My right knee (without kneecap) is osteoporetic and does not bear any weight. I am 89 years old, many of the staff here including the manager, and senior carers have been here for many years. A tradition
of care. The food is varied, imaginative and very good indeed. I have no complaints at all. This is a five star home, for me a 'blessing from heaven'.

Lovely home with fantastic staff - definitely a comfortable, safe place for my elderly mother. She enjoys her days and is happy and well cared for. Big plus for the lovely outdoor garden area, and weekly bus trips to some local place of interest.

A very good care home with excellent caring staff who always go the extra mile to look after the residents. There is a very calm and relaxed atmosphere and visitors are made very welcome. This is a very comfortable care home where everyone cares. We do activities and quizzes - no one is pressured but encouraged to take part. All staff go overboard with their help and all are cheerful.

The staff in the home seem very caring and efficient. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. The home is warm and welcoming. The staff are also very pleasant and can be related to easily. They have dealt well with the Covid pandemic and have good safety procedures in place. Hopefully, they will plan
for the end of restrictions. My mother seems very happy and is looked after well.

The staff are kind and thoughtful and meet one's every need. My room is crammed and I find it difficult to manoeuvre my trolley. Not having a big appetite, I find the frequent tea and coffee sessions superfluous but realise others may not feel the same way.

I never knew there was such a nice hotel next to me here in Gateshead. I would love to come back every year for the summer holidays. I was very surprised how quickly and efficiently I had my laundry taken care of within a couple of hours. I told all the staff this is a 5-star hotel!
