Overall Experience

The staff at Whorlton Grange are excellent. It's not just what they do but how they do it. Professional and polite with the human caring touch that really makes it. They really care about their residents and their families. Passing on the baton of care for your family is not an easy thing to do but I can't think of anyone better to pass it to. They are taking care of Mum with what she needs and also giving me my dad back too.

My mum has been in the home since August 2022. She is 93 years old next month and she is absolutely flourishing in the home. She is cared for so well that it is like she is living in her own private hotel. Her room is lovely and peaceful and very pleasant. When we visit her she enjoys the food and the company of the other residents. She particularly enjoys chatting with the staff as they all take the time to talk to her every day. As a family, we could not be happier with her care. She is happy, safe and loved.

After a difficult six months or so, my mother moved in at Whorlton Grange. She has been helped and supported extremely well by the management and carers. They also supported me at this difficult time. She has settled in really well, and it is a great comfort to know she is safe and well cared for. She has gained a little independence back, and it is lovely being able to spend quality time with her instead of trying to organise outside agencies.

Amazing residential home, I wish you did nursing. Lovely staff always made Dad comfortable and me welcome. Lovely building and always clean, never smells which is a good sign. I only wish he was well enough to join in the activities because they looked so good. Thank you to everyone.

The staff who care for my mum are absolutely incredible. They always go above and beyond to care for her. They are very caring, friendly, patient, dedicated, thoughtful and professional. I couldn't ask for anything more with regard to her care. My mum feels safe and secure, and most of all, happy with Whorlton Grange.

I've been delighted with Whorlton Grange since my father went into care in February this year. He has looked better every time we see him and the opportunity to meet in the "pod" has been wonderful.

Well done and thank you to everyone for great work during the pandemic.

My husband has been very well looked after by all the carers. Last year he was in hospital quite a number of times, this year nothing! The carers are wonderful in keeping the resident's spirits up. It is good to know they are virus-free. Many thanks to everybody at Whorlton Grange. Keep up the good work.

Brilliant care for my mam. Fantastic staff who have done a fantastic job through the lockdown. Home is extremely well managed and all the staff are approachable. The home does an amazing job of keeping me informed how my mam is doing when I can't see her as much due to lockdown.

I would highly recommend this home to others.

Mam is in Whorlton Grange temporary at the moment. She is well looked after, the staff have been marvellous with her and she has settled there well. It was a very big decision for us as a family for Mam to go into care. She is mixing with other residents and enjoying the company and I know she is safe 24/7. She's had her hair done on a couple of occasions as well as the hairdresser visiting the home. She's enjoying the food which always looks lovely and well presented. The location of the home and the gardens are beautiful. She's had a lot of family visiting her over the last few weeks and they were all really impressed as well. The staff brought tea and coffee for Mam's relatives when they were there. I hope Mam will be able to stay in Whorlton Grange permanently as it's a lovely care home with lovely staff.
