The Lifestyle team organises a wide range of activities, outings and entertainment, and your loved one is welcome to do light tasks around the home if it helps them to feel a sense of purpose and independence.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge. Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

All the staff have been amazing, but I just wanted to specially mention 5 members of staff in particular who all took the time to make sure I was ok too, providing food, tea and a listening ear, it really meant a lot. However, I have to say though the manager is the heart of the home, which is a big reason why the home has such a lovely warm, caring atmosphere.

My mam has been a resident for 3 years at Collingwood Court. The staff have always been caring and supportive but even more absolutely amazing during the Covid-19 crisis. They have gone above and beyond their roles to ensure we get phone calls to speak to mum and ring us to let us know she's ok. The manager and admin lady are always cheerful and absolute stars. I'm not sure how we would have managed during this stressful time without them. My sister and I are incredibly grateful for the care my mum receives on a daily basis.

After considering several homes for our dad we chose Collingwood Court not only for its location to dads former home but mainly due to the general welcoming, friendly, homely first impressions we received. It has continued to provide that homely caring environment that a resident with dementia must have. It is not perfect but its best attributes are the amazingly patient caring understanding staff to dad and to us his family. We have immense gratitude to the manager and her staff.

This care home has been a great place for my dad to live in at the age of 88 with dementia. Very friendly carers, a gentle style with a good sense of humour in difficult circumstances when residents are confused and upset. The only improvement could be the smell of urine throughout the home...
This care home has been a great place for my dad to live in at the age of 88 with dementia. Very friendly carers, a gentle style with a good sense of humour in difficult circumstances when residents are confused and upset. The only improvement could be the smell of urine throughout the home especially in the warm weather. The residents are cleaned as soon as they are recognised as having soiled themselves but the home has on overpowering stench which isn't reflective of the caring given but the smell should be addressed e.g automatic air freshers in all rooms, airing rooms when possible.

Following your feedback, we immediately arranged for the carpets to be shampooed throughout the home and we hope that you will see an improvement next time you visit.

Since moving into Collingwood Court, mam has really thrived. She has physically improved and is so much more sociable. This is all because of the fantastic care, support and encouragement she gets. All the staff know their residents so well and there is a real family feel to the place. The facilities are superb and the food excellent. I particularly love to see the wide variety of activities mam gets to do and am amazed at how much fun both residents and staff have. It is a pleasure to see her enjoying life and I can't thank the wonderful staff enough for such enthusiastic warm and very personal care.

To do my role well, I believe it’s vital to balance compassion with strong leadership and resilience. Organisation, adaptability, communication and emotional intelligence are all key to managing a busy home and supporting residents and colleagues.
I hold NVQ Levels 2 and 3, my FDM, and I’m currently completing my Level 5 and FHM qualifications. I’ve worked my way up from an agency carer to Home Manager in just five years which is something I’m incredibly proud of. Before taking on my current role, I worked as a Deputy Manager.
One of my favourite parts of the day is chatting with residents and hearing their wonderful life stories. There’s so much we can learn from the older generation. I feel proud every day to see the positive difference our care makes and to watch my team grow in confidence and skill.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends.
