The Lodge Residential Care Home

Attentive carers and staff, residents well looked after and entertained.

I found my stay here very good. The care and compassion was excellent. I felt quite safe and comfortable with my care and my overall impression of the whole facility was that I was being looked after with the utmost compassion.

I was initially anxious about placing my mother into a care home. After visiting The Lodge, I was straight away reassured that she would be well cared for. During these strange times, she has been extremely well looked after and I have had regular updates regarding her health and wellbeing. The members of staff that I have spoken to, have proved to be dedicated, caring and sincere. They have gone above and beyond to help when needed. I would highly recommend The Lodge to anyone needing their help, and I have nothing but admiration for the manager and staff. Thank you.

My father has been at The Lodge for about 6 weeks in rehab. He was adamant he would never stay there permanently. Now thanks to the kindness, patience and care capacity of the staff he has decided to stay as a resident. He has gained weight due to the "fantastic food" (his words) and at 94 is happy and alert once more. I cannot praise The Lodge and its staff enough. They are 1st Class.

The staff go out of their way to help. When I phone, the staff answer the questions I ask about my father-in-law. When we visit, we are told how he is keeping. We have been told he is always singing. He is looking a lot better in the residential home. He is coming up to 97 years old.

Since the care home has been taken over, the care my mother gets is spot on. All the staff are great at their job and always busy, but they find time if you need them. Also, when you walk in, it has a pleasant smell. Last time it did not smell very clean but the new company running it has it sorted. So keep up the good work and well done.

I would really recommend the "Lodge" to anyone thinking of using their facilities, and I have nothing but admiration for the way they execute their duties. Thanks!

Thanks to all the staff who are taking care of my mother. She tells me she appreciates what you all do for her and kindness, as I do. With all the restrictions due to the virus, being able to have weekly video calls on Zoom keeps all the family in touch. Thanks for taking the time to allow this to happen as I know it is not easy when you all are busy attending to the residents.

The care I receive is to a very high standard. The food made by the chef is to a very high standard. I feel able to talk to staff and the manager if I have any worries and that I am allowed to have my meals with my friends.

Due to lockdown we have not been able to go to The Lodge, but from what we saw before lockdown, we were very impressed.

I am overjoyed with my recent visit to see my 99-year-old grandma. I travelled from Surrey only for lockdown to be imposed a couple of days after I arrived. The staff and manager were extremely accomodating and allowed for myself to stand outside to wave and see her for the first time in 6 months. My grandma has only been at the home been for 3 months and she looked so happy and well cared for, totally at ease and happy to have the company of the staff and residents. It was great to see her in person. Thank you so much to everyone at The Lodge. My grandma is the happiest and brightest that she has been for a long time.

The Lodge is a friendly and homely place for residents stays. The staff are very professional and take the time to make sure the residents are comfortable, certain staff go beyond their jobs and will go out of their way to make sure residents are given the time to be heard and talked to and made to feel wanted. Rooms need updating and painting.

My dad spent three and a half years at The Lodge Care Home, during this time he was always well settled and happy. My dad was well looked after and always treated with respect and dignity. I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after him unconditionally and for the respect that we were shown at the end of my dad’s life, thank you all so much. I would not hesitate in recommending this care home.

Very caring and supportive staff. Staff also very friendly always feel welcome when we visit my mother.

My mother is very happy here. She loves the care staff. If a do occasionally have any concerns I feel able to approach the manager and it is usually resolved very quickly. The home has an activity co-ordinator who goes above and beyond. My brother and sister are also very happy with the service.

This is a fantastic care home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I believe there have been some negative comments about the home, but it seems to be making up for that. A friend of the family is a current resident and is receiving the best care possible. It is a difficult job to do and I take my hat off to all of the dedicated staff who work so hard to improve the remaining years of the service users in their care.

I don’t get into the home often, but what I have seen and heard of the care delivered, has left me rather impressed. The staff deserve far more credit than they receive.

Staff are extremely attentive, friendly and approachable. They have been very helpful to dad during his difficult settling in period. They have sown him kindness, patience and humour.

The staff appear to engage very well with the residents and are very loving and are not afraid to show affection.
