I have found the staff very helpful, and very supportive to my uncle. Sadly he can ve a bit difficult at times. However, this is more from frustration at his situation rather then anything anyone has said or done.
All the staff are welcoming, he doesn't engage in the activities so I can't comment.

Our Mum was a resident at Half Acre for just over 3 years, she was very happy & settled there. Anna & the staff are wonderful, they genuinely care about their residents & nothing is too much trouble for them. They are attentive & dedicated with a good sense of humour & an overall excellent attitude.
They treat their residents with dignity & compassion & always involve the family.
We couldn't have asked for better, even right up to Mum's end of life care, the staff did a marvellous job.
We would definitely recommend this care home & can't thank them enough.

Having visited 10 homes to see which one would be the best fit for my mum, we made the decision that Hillview stood out and that decision has been vindicated since. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, everyone is extremely supportive and caring.
All the residents I have met are friendly
and seem happy here (which speaks volumes).
Best decision we could have made. Thankyou Emma, Tammy and all your staff xx

Riverside View Care Home

Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
We are extremely dissatisfied with the care provided to our mother, who has dementia and suffered a fall within approximately 30 hours of being admitted. This is a period during which a new resident should be closely monitored to ensure their safety, particularly when they are vulnerable and unfamiliar
with their surroundings.
The handling of the incident, including the follow-up communication, did not meet the standard of professionalism or clarity we expected. This has severely damaged our confidence in the home's ability to provide appropriate support.
My faith in the care system has been fractured.
Our situation was defined as a crisis situation and this care home was supposed to ease that situation but it made it a hundred times worse than it already was.
Regrettably, we cannot recommend this care home based on our experience.
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Riverside View Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your concerns, all feedback is welcomed and allows us to continually develop our service.
We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and distress this has caused you and your family. The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our highest priority, and we understand how upsetting it must have been for your mother to experience a fall so soon after admission.
We want to assure you that we are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the monitoring in place at the time and the communication that followed. Your feedback highlights areas where we could possibly improve , and it will be taken extremely seriously as part of this review.
We recognise the trust families place in us, especially during what you described as a crisis situation, and we are sorry that you feel we did not meet your expectations. We are committed to learning from this and to ensuring that any shortcomings are addressed promptly and

My elderly mother received care and physio after a very bad fall. The staff were lovely and all treat my mam with total respect. Any questions were always quickly answered by the seniors on site. We, as a family have no complaints at all. The physios were brilliant. Mam has said that if she needed rehab
again - she would request to go there.

I'd like to thank the staff who did their best to care for my late mam Margaret, you know who you are as i personally thanked you & let you know I appreciated you, as for the management, the deputy & the upper management I am disgusted that we had 7 safeguarding meetings over a 15 month period regarding
lack of care, poor food, failure in medication, lack of reporting accidents, lack of risk assessments, lack of personal care, lack of regular stimulation & activities, falsifying documents, the list goes on and on to the point we had to move mam during end of life care as the failures continued, we had so many meetings & was filled with so much lip service, excuses & not enough action, I asked management if I could put a camera in mams room but was denied twice, i spent hours almost everyday making sure mam was ok & taking her out giving mam some quality of life, I did mams washing as that was also a shambles. Management didn't even say goodbye on mams last day there, speaks volumes..
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Grosvenor Park Care HomeFirstly please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your mother, We truly appreciate the kind words you shared about the members of our care team who supported her during her 4 years stay with us - they will be deeply touched by your recognition.
We are, however, very sorry to read the remainder of your comments, as they do not reflect the standards of care or the many positive experiences that other families regularly share with us. All concerns raised during your mother's time with us were taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and addressed with the local Safeguarding and regulatory teams.
Our team remains committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care to every resident and to working closely with families at every stage.
We genuinely wish you and your family comfort and peace following your loss.

Care given to my mother is first rate from all the staff, care workers, cleaners, cooks, matron, management and office staff. All know my mother and speak to her, they know me. She is well cared for and all her needs are met in a happy environment, warm and well fed.

John has settled well and is happy and likes his room and staff, joins in activities and is happy watching TV in his room. Before John came into West View Lodge he was in his flat and just had quiet routine with family and help from cares.

My son has been a resident in West View Care home for approx 3 months now. I have found the level of care he received from the staff exemplary, without fault. They are very attentive, cheerful and go out of their way to help/assist him at all times. The room is very clean bright and has all storage
needed. The food is fantastic, range each day to choose from. The management are always chatty/approachable. In my opinion the home is one the best available in Hartlepoole.
