Although on the whole this review is overall satisfactory over the last month the obnoxious smell upstairs has been disgusting. The patient toilets were nowhere near as hygenic as they should be. Would suggest an automatic air freshener. A sink and tap is needed in upstairs dining room to facilitate
tea/coffee making.

We are very happy with the care provided to my mother-in-law, now 97, at Elm Bank. The home is well staffed and staff are always on hand and know how she is doing. They come across as caring and competent. She has put on weight so the food must be okay- and we like the fact that there is a dedicated
dining room. Realistically, we don't think we could find anywhere better suited to her needs.

Started off great, but avoid at all costs. Very poor management in place with little professionalism and knowledge, that is mainly controlled by lower ranking team members.
Grandma seemed absolutely fine first few months, until her care needs increased they then didn't want to know.
They lost her
teeth and haven't reimbursed her the cost of them, at her age and declined health we can't get her anymore.
Often in dirty clothes and sat in her own urine. Staff refuse to put her in bed when that's all she really wanted to do. She was "too hard work" for them. Following several complaints from my mum to the manger which got her no where other than a 2 week eviction notice. An old frail lady in her 80s with early onset of vascular dementia was asked to leave because they couldn't be bothered to provide for her needs. The manager reported my mum to the services and said she was a safeguarding concern, who is the daughter of my grandma. Absolutely terrible place.

Heywood Court Care Home

The staff and their performance is excellent, helpful and friendly. The family connections of staff make it feel homely, whilst the general cleaning is satisfactory. Detail cleaning is poor, ie corners, lift and against skirting boards. The several small lounges are a good idea and work well. Plenty
of drinks and food, which is tasty and filling. Although only been here for 5 days, but not yet got used to the routine and system. A briefing sheet for carers would be useful, setting out basic information and expectations.

My gran was in your care for 5 years.
She was looked after by all the fantastic staff at Botham Hall.
We loved are gran lots + she was well looked after - she wasn't always the easiest of residents at time but they managed her care very well.

All of the carers I came into contact with whilst visiting my gran were very caring, helpful and respectful.
They were always there if we needed anything and encouraged gran to take part in activities.
In her last few days, they would have sat and held grans hand when we were not present. We are forever
grateful to the carers for their support & care of gran. Thank-gran.
