Mum has been in the care home now for 3 months, which was temporary to begin with, but we have decided to make this a permanent arrangement. She is cared for on the dementia floor and often engages in activities on the ground floor. She has settled now and enjoys the company of the staff and other residents.
Staff are always friendly, caring and comforting to her. We have noticed how difficult it is for the staff who are dealing with dementia residents, and on some occasions, feel more staff would be beneficial. We do feel any issues we have with mum's care are always dealt with professionally.
Reply from Paul Millar, Marketing Manager at Riverside View Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review our home . It is a pleasure to care for your Mum and we are delighted at how she has settled in . Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course share them with the team .

The St Helen's Team are amazing. They have supported not just my father, but our whole family through a very emotionally difficult time. We were immediately welcomed into their care home environment as though we were extended family. The care showed to residents to meet their physical, nutritional and
emotional needs is very evident. All residents appear happy and interact well with each other and staff. Facilities are clean and well maintained, with appropriate spaces available to meet the various needs of the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending St Helen's to anyone. They should be proud of what they achieve day to day and the care they provide. Thank you to all.

Staff are friendly, caring and welcoming to both residents and visitors. The management goes above and beyond in every aspect of the care home. Food is excellent and plentiful, freshly prepared with a good variety. There are plenty of activities for residents to get involved if they wish to. The home
is cleaned daily by a brilliant team of cleaners and laundry staff who also regularly have residents laughing and singing. I am more than happy with the care my husband receives here.

My mother has been a resident for the past 3/4 years due to dementia and I can not fault the attention and attitudes of the staff. To me they look after my mam like she was their own. My mother suffers terribly with chest infections and they are always quick to pick up on it when she starts becoming
unwell. They sort out the matron and always let me know what the outcome is and the tablets etc that she is getting. The cleanliness of the home is great. I never see anything out of place or dust anywhere. Even the cleaning staff are super friendly and stop and chat with my mam. I also have to say the food is amazing as well. My mam eats everything. Never complains always says she loves the good old traditional food Fish and chips Friday and Sunday dinners. Overall my opinion is it's like a home from home. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. They also have activities going on throughout the year and include everyone summer fete and Christmas parties. My mam loves them all
Reply from Rachael Dunseath, Head of Marketing at Riverside View Care HomeThank you so much for such a lovely review. I will make sure that the team receive your kind compliments.

We are extremely dissatisfied with the care provided to our mother, who has dementia and suffered a fall within approximately 30 hours of being admitted. This is a period during which a new resident should be closely monitored to ensure their safety, particularly when they are vulnerable and unfamiliar
with their surroundings.
The handling of the incident, including the follow-up communication, did not meet the standard of professionalism or clarity we expected. This has severely damaged our confidence in the home's ability to provide appropriate support.
My faith in the care system has been fractured.
Our situation was defined as a crisis situation and this care home was supposed to ease that situation but it made it a hundred times worse than it already was.
Regrettably, we cannot recommend this care home based on our experience.
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Riverside View Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your concerns, all feedback is welcomed and allows us to continually develop our service. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and distress this has caused you and your family. The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our highest priority, and we understand how upsetting it must have been for your mother to experience a fall so soon after admission. We want to assure you that we are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the monitoring in place at the time and the communication that followed. Your feedback highlights areas where we could possibly improve , and it will be taken extremely seriously as part of this review. We recognise the trust families place in us, especially during what you described as a crisis situation, and we are sorry that you feel we did not meet your expectations. We are committed to learning from this and to ensuring that any shortcomings are addressed promptly and

I'd like to thank the staff who did their best to care for my late mam Margaret, you know who you are as i personally thanked you & let you know I appreciated you, as for the management, the deputy & the upper management I am disgusted that we had 7 safeguarding meetings over a 15 month period regarding
lack of care, poor food, failure in medication, lack of reporting accidents, lack of risk assessments, lack of personal care, lack of regular stimulation & activities, falsifying documents, the list goes on and on to the point we had to move mam during end of life care as the failures continued, we had so many meetings & was filled with so much lip service, excuses & not enough action, I asked management if I could put a camera in mams room but was denied twice, i spent hours almost everyday making sure mam was ok & taking her out giving mam some quality of life, I did mams washing as that was also a shambles. Management didn't even say goodbye on mams last day there, speaks volumes..
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Grosvenor Park Care HomeFirstly please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your mother, We truly appreciate the kind words you shared about the members of our care team who supported her during her 4 years stay with us - they will be deeply touched by your recognition. We are, however, very sorry to read the remainder of your comments, as they do not reflect the standards of care or the many positive experiences that other families regularly share with us. All concerns raised during your mother's time with us were taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and addressed with the local Safeguarding and regulatory teams. Our team remains committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care to every resident and to working closely with families at every stage. We genuinely wish you and your family comfort and peace following your loss.
