My sister was admitted to Archers Court in Farringdon at the beginning of October last year and the whole family are so thrilled with the care/welcome and love that she and all the family receive from the dedicated staff here.
The change which we see in my sister is so, so encouraging. She is content
and happy in herself living here (which is the total opposite to how she was in the previous home she was in) therefore not only has Archers and their staff brought real contentment to my sister but the 'peace of mind; which we, as her family now have knowing that she is in a wonderful, caring and loving environment - money cannot buy. The home itself is always clean/tidy and no 'unpleasant smell' is ever the opposite if we call in when a meal is being prepared - the food looks (and tastes lovely my sister tells us). Definitely a home we recommend to our contacts.

My daughter is a resident here.
I am extremely happy with her care.
She is well looked after. Carers do a good job she is safe.
The home is beautifully kept so clean and beautiful decor is well maintained.
I have no complaints the food looks lovely and is served beautiful dining rooms are wonderful

I visited my aunt who recently moved into this wonderful home. From the moment I walked through the door, there was a lovely caring atmosphere within the building. All the staff I met were really warm and friendly which feeds into the happy demeanour of the residents. Plenty of stimulation and activity
for the residents to get involved in should they wish to. Very clean and tidy establishment which is clearly well run and organised.

Like many my husband does not want to be in a 'home.' Some days are an uphill battle for his family and the staff. Nothing is right - he is lonely and bored, he won't eat, personal hygiene doesn't happen and food goes out of the window or down the toilet. Despite this he does like the staff who are
friendly and helpful. He sounds intelligent initially but is a recluse. He does not get involved in activities and remains in his room most days. This can be a problem. He won't go and survey food choices but relies on what is brought - that can be monotonous. He is very 'picky' about food and is losing weight. He rarely uses the shower, each time is a new experience but he does need help. residents regularly urinate outside his door which upsets him. I do feel for the cleaning staff - small in number - large building and lots of accidents to clean up.

Management and staff are excellent. Without exception all staff are extremely knowledgable and caring and are on top of any situation that can arise.
Always pleasant and smiling they are an asset to the establishment.
Residents are always being entertained with all sorts of activities.
I feel that
our resident could not be in a better place or have better care than in Archers Court Nursing Home.

This is how all dementia care should be conducted. My Grandma moved to Archers Court from a different home, and the difference in her in just a couple of days is remarkable. She is so happy here and it’s clear to see why.
Firstly, the staff are incredible. Every single member of staff I have seen is
so friendly and wonderfully caring, and cannot do enough for my grandma. There are plenty of staff everywhere you walk, so I feel safe in the knowledge that my Grandma is safe too.
The home has been refurbished with spacious bedrooms and lovely, relaxing communal areas leading onto very pretty gardens. The place is spotless and smells clean!
There are numerous activities for the residents. I also love that residents can be encouraged to do things for themselves such as their own laundry room and even a woodwork room! There is a lovely hair salon and sensory room upstairs too, as well as a pool table!
Such a lovely relaxed atmosphere, a world away from other care homes I have visited.

My dad has been at Archers Court Care Home in Sunderland since May 2023 and I cannot rate them high enough for their care. The activities and events are just superb. Most recently, they put a 3 course meal on for the residents and their partners for Valentine's Day and it was so special. Anything we

As a family we cannot thank Archers Court Care Home enough for the care they showed us as a family.
Dad was admitted to Archers Court in March 2022, we were welcomed into the warm, bright, clean and airy home, it felt very cosy.
Dad had a wonderful time there and enjoyed lots of inclusive activities,
along with the other residents.
The staff were always very professional yet friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble and the care Dad received was exemplary.
In particular, in his last few weeks, Dad's care exceeded all our expectations, we didn't think that was possible, but they took the best care of all the family.
Thank you just doesn't seem enough, simply amazing, Archers Court!

Mum has only been in Archers Court for 6 weeks. However from day one, she has been treated with nothing but tender loving care, nothing is too much trouble or bother for any member of staff. Staff work hard and are welcoming to residents and their families. They try to form a bond with residents. Covid testing of visitors appeared lax as there was very little evidence of staff present to ensure tests were carried out and documented accurately.

I have not seen any activities going on, except the open day where there was a singer and the residents seemed to be enjoying themselves. Unfortunately, my friend wasn't one of them as she had been told there wasn't a wheelchair she could use. I know she can walk but is not confident to go any distance.
Her reaction to the staff is some are always unpleasant while others are kind and helpful. She lost her confidence after several falls at home and would appreciate more support when moving about.

My brother has seemed to settle well after spending a month in hospital prior to going into the home. From the beginning all the staff have been very approachable, helping his family through these difficult times. Carers and domiciliary understand his illness and they have a warm and friendly manner
towards him. We hope to have our brother remain here as long as possible.

Since the appointment of a new manager, there has been a real positivity around Archers Court. Staff looking happy, conversing with relatives in a positive and professional manner. Activities have positively increased which my mother-in-law enjoys a lot. Residents are treated as individuals with the
staff clearly aware that they work in the residents' homes. Long may it continue.
